PowerSDR PortAudio Error -9999 trying to use VAC

Postby mnaruta » Sat Oct 14, 2023 3:04 am

I need to get PowerSDR (HPSDR) VAC working with WSPR.

When I enable VAC 1 in PowerSDR, I get:

PortAudio Error -9999, Unanticipated host error

PortAudio Error -9988, invalid stream pointer

and the “Power” button goes off until I un-select VAC 1.

PowerSDR Setup: Driver MME, Input Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable), Output Line 2 (Virtual Audio Cable)

WSPR used to work fine. What’s new is that I am now running Windows 10 and WSPR 2.6.1. My VAC is 4.13.0.5811. HPSDR is Atlas Mercury.

I am trying to get WSPR running for Saturday’s eclipse, but have been struggling for days.

Try using Voicemeeter instead of Muzy VAC.

VB Audio is now offering a new tool called "Matrix" but I have not tried it myself.

Re: PowerSDR PortAudio Error -9999 trying to use VAC [solved] using VM Potato

Thank you Scott. I downloaded Voicemeeter Potato. It needs more knobs, buttons, and sliders. :)

The quickstart guides that I could find did not match any of the settings. So, I poked around until I got receive audio into WSJTX. It decodes fine now (Noon EDST). A little late, but I'm hoping that my data might still be useful. I'll try transmit later.

Thanks again Scott.
