I noticed that Eugene Muzychenko updated his VAC software recently with a bunch of changes, now on version 4.62.
This peaked my interest from version 4.61 (30.12.19)
- Replaced independent cable clock sources with a single kernel timer to allow multiple cables to be coherent.

Re: VAC update (muzychenko)
I've always wondered if V.A.C. re-clocked the audio streams passing through it. So now I guess we know
I wonder if they are re-threaded also?

Re: VAC 4.62
On my system (ANAN-100B, Win10 2004) VAC version 4.62 does not work with Thetis (v2.6.9 and v2.7.0a3) or OpenHPSDRmrx 2.4.9.0. VAC 4.62 did work before the 2004 update. VAC 4.60 does work with 2004.
FLdigi, WSJTx, VLC and Windows Media Player work with 4.62 on 2004. Voicemeter va works with OpenHPSDR on 2004. It appears that there is something different (than other programs) in the way it connects to sound devices in 2004. OpenHPSDR shows the channels in 2004, but then does not connect to them. OpenHPSR works with other real devices, but usually requires extra selection/selector activations, i.e. switch driver type once or twice, to make it happen.
Have notified Eugene M. and he is looking into it.
