I would like to be able to switch off the speaker connected in the rear of my 7000DLE MKII while using my headphones plugged into the front panel jack. Can I do this or did I miss something in the User Guide?

There is no way to do this in the software due to the design of the hardware. Your only recourse is to unplug or switch the speakers.
