Re: How to change "APIPA" IP?
You can't change an APIPA IP. They will automatically be assigned randomly over the range of 169.254.0.0 to 169.254.255.255. Your choices are: - APIPA assigned address. This address will be automatically set if there is no DHCP server and if no static IP is set in the ANAN. - DHCP assigned IP addres...

Re: Full VAC or Hybrid audio
If you don't want a headset with a boom mic that's no problem. Everyone makes a USB mic these days. Behringer, Mackie, even RØDE makes one. You can spend a few dollars, or a few hundred dollars! If you do decide to get an ASIO-capable interface I'd recommend just to get your feet wet with the UMC202...

Re: Full VAC or Hybrid audio
Hi WU2O, I should have said that I'm not running an An (yet, I'm looking at it) but an Hermes Lite 2, this is my first SDR radio, só lots of questions about audio and Thetis, Voice meter, etc. HL2--IMHO they did this right by leaving out the CODEC and audio interfaces on the board. I want to see if...

Re: Full VAC or Hybrid audio
What do you mean by "hybrid"? If you use an ASIO compatible sound interface (assume you mean the Behringer U-phoria UMC series) you are still using either cmASIO or VAC. The same is true for digital modes with Voicemeeter, you can use either cmASIO or VAC. cmASIO will be the absolute lowes...

Feasible, but you may need an attenuator.
Why not use cmASIO?

Re: Implementation of Pure Signal by Dr. Pratt in other radio
It's more than that. First, remember that "the radio" is primarily contained in software element. The hardware element is little more than the front end and the first IF conversion. That means that any SDR that provides an appropriate feedback path and utilizes Thetis (or even PowerSDR mRX...

Re: VSPE, which is a good one to download
If you are connecting a tuner (or any hardware device) to the PC using RS232 serial communications and want it to communicate with Thetis, no "VSPE" is necessary. Merely assign the correct COM port in Thetis (Setup > Serial/Network/Midi/CAT > Serial). If you need to make a connection betwe...

Re: Is it worth upgrading from early 100D/200D rigs to latest Anan hardware?
Some additional thoughts: The newer hardware has a more effective thermal design. If the hardware is run at 100W all the time that may or may not be something of interest. That said, on the older 100 and 200 series units, the simple expedient of getting a small fan to blow across the top of the chas...

Re: Is it worth upgrading from early 100D/200D rigs to latest Anan hardware?
Leaving aside the 14-bit receivers (10E, 100B), there's little practical difference between the original Hermes and the latest G2 hardware. Most of the improvements are only easily measurable on the test bench and are relatively invisible given real world conditions. Indeed, if you study the schemat...

Re: DU3500AL Auto-Tuner w/ Anan 7000DLE MKII and OM2000A+
It's rare that we see a PC these days with anything but USB and Ethernet ports. The tuner provides an RS232 interface for communications. Thus an RS232 interface (aka "COM port") will need to be present on the Thetis PC. This means either adding an appropriate PCIE card (desktop PC) or a U...

Re: DU3500AL Auto-Tuner w/ Anan 7000DLE MKII and OM2000A+
Disclaimer: I don't have any of that equipment... Looking at the manual for the DU3500AL it looks pretty straightforward. Page 16 shows the connections you need. The manual doesn't provide any detailed pinout information. Thetis supports Kenwood CAT protocol so you'll need to select that. You'll als...

Re: G2 distorted audio using TRS and standard mic input
Perhaps a helpful point of clarification: gain is R8/R5 (assumes R5 always equals R4). As an example, the schematic shows R8 = 15000 and R5 = 1500. Therefore the gain is 15000/1500 = 10 (unitless). In decibels this is 20log(15000/1500) = 20dBV. It sure would be great if someone who is having a probl...

This kind of variability in production units is crazy. Laurence's board has R8 per the schematic, you can see it in his photo. This is real quality problem.

Re: G2 distorted audio using TRS and standard mic input
I got permission from Abhi to publish the schematic of the Mic preamp board for the G2. Thank you Laurence! I also found that R8 was 10K on my board; that makes the gain lower than intended. I've increased it to 39K, which then means I have adequate gain from dynamic microphones without using "...

Re: Rack Mounting G2-1K5 Transceiver & ANAN 1K5 Amp
As usual, with Apache there is no way to tell what reality will be until products start to arrive in the user's hands and people make actual measurements. It's easy to be quite skeptical of the measurements shown on the website: - The photos imply that both units are packaged in the same chassis, so...

Scott, I have really been enjoying my Universal Audio Volt 1 interface. I have not tried using Voicemeeter with it yet. What would be the benefit of adding this version to my setup? James WD5GWY Voicemeeter is the go-to app if you want/need a virtual sound mixer on your system. As Tony mentions, fi...

Major new version of Voicemeeter now in pre-release
https://voicemeeter.com/voicemeeter-updates-february-2024/
The most exciting thing is that an ASIO hardware interface is no longer required to use Voicemeeter.
Also, for an extra charge, you can enable all of the hardware channels as additional virtual channels.

Re: Thetis and display truncation
The minimum allowable size of a Thetis window is 1018 x 609 pixels. If your display cannot provide that much screen real estate then you are out of luck. James' idea is a good one to obtain more space but it appears that the 7" display you chose will still not meet the requirements since it is ...

There's nothing wrong with those results if you are using two-tone. As previously mentioned the dotted line is an artifact of the two-tone waveform.
