Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues

-since the noise floor is known and display-able with a line (nice feature) can you not automatically set the bottom of the pan display to be at that level (maybe +3 or 5 or settable offset)? Noise levels change day to day and via direction - it would be nice to just have the system constantly move...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues

-the 2nd number in the blog is the relative signal, relative to the noise floor. Could you add an option to only show this? I ask because the first number - although a technical number, the absolute level in dbm, to the vast majority of stations both using and 'hearing' the info - it is meaningless...

Re: Error starting SDR hardware message

Interesting. This suggests that on your specific serial numbers the firmware is crashing after a while.

JJ4SDR what firmware are you running?

W4BF perhaps you would benefit from switching to Protocol 2.

Not sure about the blob question, or the CW question. Hopefully others will chime in. As for the database, assuming the 64 bit version, the current database is always: C:\Users\<your windows username>\AppData\Roaming\OpenHPSDR\Thetis-x64\database.xml Unless you started Thetis with the datapath or db...

Read this before using full break-in QSK

This capability is only available with Thetis in combination with Protocol 2 firmware, and only on the 200D, 7000 (all variants including Andromeda) and the 8000. It first appeared in Thetis 2.6.4 and P2 firmware versions 1.6 (200D) and 1.7 (all others). The original release notes for this capabilit...

Re: QSK with Thetis

Gary, If you mess with the delay, or too much with the custom AGC settings, it will screw up full break in QSK. Also, when in that mode, the RX is NEVER turned off, you are in full duplex TX/RX mode 100% of the time. Set delay back to 0, set the custom AGC back to Slope 5, Max Gain 100, Decay 1, Han...

Gary,

You are right to question your post placement. This topic is for bugs and feature requests. If you have a "how to" question with Thetis, please do make a new post with a descriptive title with your question in the Thetis sub-forum.

Thanks,

Re: Weird display in VFO B

That is strange. I was not able duplicate that configuration. I put VFO A on 40M. Then I activated RX2 and manually set the frequency, mode and filter bandwidth to LSB and 5K. Then I disabled RX2. VFO B mode and bandwidth reverted to the same as VFO A. Try as I might, I cannot get VFO B to have a di...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues

One of the items on the old wish list was the need to find out if the PTT jack on the back can be controlled directly. This was marked as done in version 21j. Now having looked at the posts from around that time and having watched Richies you tube vid am I correct in thinking the PTT jack couldn't ...

The only thing I can't to is play recorded audio from the "Tape Recorder" in Voicemeeter Potato and send it to Cantabile. Nice job on the setup, per your excellent screen shots. Nothing to add there except left and right are reversed on VAC1. Recording is possible, as I discussed above. U...

Re: Pure Signal / wiring/ ANAN 8000DLE

I do the same thing, Mark, but I still need snap on ferrites in a few places. These problems are almost always caused by RF currents flowing on the shield, not RF leaking through the shield from the center conductor. When RF current is flowing on the shield of the coax it doesn't matter how low loss...

There are lots of happy people running SPE amp's with Apache hardware and Thetis/PowerSDR. I suspect he just got tired of helping people sort out the serial port wiring. Re: CESSB & COMP--obsolete or not?

Just to add a point of clarification... RF peak overshoot that CESSB corrects results from passing a complex waveform through the Hilbert Transform -- and this occurs with any type of SSB generation. CESSB is not designed to correct baseband audio overshoot, for example, from a sloppy baseband peak...

Don't get me wrong, Richie. I 1000% (30dB% :D ) agree that it's extremely important for the auto-AGC algorithm to take into account resolution bandwidth. Indeed, as you know I have argued in the past that it should also take into account the attenuator setting in accordance with the AGC gain algorit...
