Hi Conrad,
It happens with the 8000. That is the board I use. Perhaps it is more difficult to hear on HF due to the higher noise thresholds.

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX
Hi Conrad, I did your noise test and what I hear is the background noise (this was on 6m) is quite uniform with Fixed AGC. If I switch to Med or Fast and adjust the AGC to the top of the noise, the background noise sounds "choppy" is the best way I can describe it. Interesting. Why is this...

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX
Hi Gary, I'll have to check that again to make sure I saw what i think I saw. I know there are instances where there are transmitters that are just not adjusted properly putting out all kinds of garbage. We have one local that sprays crap all over the 2.7khz range on 6m so I know not all "smear...

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX
Tony, I'm glad you asked this as I was about to myself once I exhausted searches for the answer. I use JTDX and I run my AF gain at 5, my VAC RX gain is at -30, and I vary the AGC gain from about -95 to -120 depending on signal strengths present at the time. I have the AGC in Fixed mode. I'm speakin...

Hi Paul, I was going to respond at length to your post but I don't want to upset some sensitive individuals so let me just say that I respectively disagree with the "status" part of your post. I never said the developers should provide a status. We purchased this hardware from Apache Labs....

Scott, I don't see why the "thin client" can't simply be a browser which means it is available regardless of operating system. That makes the most sense to me.

Scott, Sorry to ruffle your feathers. Thanks for the info. It might be nice to have something like a monthly update just to keep everyone informed if this information is known by some. That would probably head off questions about it. When the last thing that is mentioned (that I've heard anyway) is ...

Hi Scott, You said above on Feb 11 "As noted on Teamspeak, there have been major strides made over just the past week's time. I'd now be comfortable predicting that there could be a new round of P2 firmware releases in just a few more weeks .". We're now almost four months later and still ...

You know, sometimes I wonder if getting older is better than the alternative... sorry for that. I was focusing on the "non-availability" of the current part rather than the obvious problem that you needed more hold current. I'll keep looking around. Does this affect the Orion MKII boards a...

Behringer UMC Audio Control Panel Buffer Settings
Scott, I am using the Behringer UMC202HD and its ASIO for VAC. What is the correct setting for the buffer settings in the UMC control panel? Should the buffer size be set to the VAC buffer size or the Primary buffer size? I assume it would be set to the VAC size but want to make sure. Thanks for you...

Hi Scott, One other question. Re: PowerSDR mRX PS v3.4.8 Released
Hi Scott, Thanks for the info. I turned it to zero a few hours ago and watched the ooops counter and it has stayed at zero so I guess currently, I don't have an issue that it can correct for. However, since the penalty for running it at 4 is so little, I guess it makes sense to just leave it on. 73,...

Re: PowerSDR mRX PS v3.4.8 Released
Hi Scott, How, if at all, is the "PRO Latency" selection affected by the newest code? I know it defaults to 4 but should it be a different number now? I haven't played with that yet but started thinking about it today after I was able to optimize my system to achieve "all zeros" ...

Re: PowerSDR mRX PS v3.4.8 Released
Wow, how nice is this resampler? This makes it soooo easy to tune everything for best latency. In 10 minutes or so I had everything humming along with nothing but zeros showing up with the resampler monitors. I do have 1 or 2 ooops popping up right now as I run FT8 on 60m. I'll have to look at the e...

Re: Voicemeeter Potato is coming! <--not a joke!
Hi Scott,
Not being an expert in this area, does this mean we will be able to attach VAC2 to the second channel and use the UMC ASIO driver for VAC2 along with VAC1? That would be nice as that should get rid of the delay problem having to use Windows drivers for VAC2.

Re: Transmit signal levels on panadapter
Hi Gary,
Following your directions, I see -5db on the first test and -28db on the second after running the two tone/psa test. Interesting.
For grins, I reset the database again and it was back to -5db with tune before using two tone.

Hi Scott, Sorry, should have included that with the other info. Obviously barefoot at that power level and using the Xtronic XDC-1 coupler with an extra 6db attenuator giving me, I think, 50db of attenuation. With 40 watts at 46dbm, I should read -4 with this setup. I am very close to that after the...

Hi Scott, I understand why you are confused. It is because I was confused! I went back and looked up the info for Minerva and see that I was mistaken in my thought that it still used an Anan radio for RF data. Hi Scott, I haven't done the math but my gut tells me 1000 bast T won't support two data streams simultaneously from two ADC's able to handle 160 through 6 meters. Perhaps it will. Chris, I fully agree that the software is coming along nicely and you, Doug, Warren, and others are doing a great job. Re: Thetis ETA for release ?
It is looking a lot less likely to me, given the amount of time that has passed with no progress reported and no evidence that it is being worked on, that we will ever see Thetis fully operational. Perhaps it is not possible to solve the timing closure issues with the current FPGA design. I assume t...
