Re: Intel Adapter User Guide for Intel® Ethernet Adapters

There's a lot of mystical, random and just generally goofy stuff posted on the internet about what settings to change on your Ethernet hardware to get better performance, mostly from gamers. Well, here's the advice straight from the horse's mouth, Intel, for the great many of us who have Intel netw...

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

I am running a dedicated Intel Gigabit CT card for my 8000DLE with Thetis b6 and P2 2.0 pre8. I have had two lock-ups in over a week of operation and was going to try the two settings changes to the Intel card. I changed the RX buffer but do not see the IRQ Mitigation setting listed in Advanced tab...

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

Fyi....

Pre8 with 2.6.9 b6 running like a champ for three days now.
No seq errors running with RX1 and RX2.
CPU usage lowest ever at 4-6% with RX1
Nice job!

Cheers for comments :) Last couple of weeks have been hectic so not had much time to turn the radio on. I see that Rick has released pre8 so I must try that hopefully later today. Hope everyone had a good Christmas, I am still recovering from food overload :D 73 Richie. Richie... What is the URL fo...

My report: pre4 is the best of the bunch on my 8000. In more detail: Pre2 worked but PS was unstable. Pre1 worked fine. But pre4 is definitely demonstrating superior PureSignal performance and just "feels" smoother overall. No seq errors at all with pre1 or pre4 unless I make the PC sweat...

Carl: does it work better or worse than pre1 or pre2? Which is best for you? And are you using a 7000 or 8000? Scott.. Running an 8000DLE. I can't say one is any better than another. Once it reaches the point of failing all of them fail again repeatedly after a short amount of time (seconds). Did t...

I agree, I have seen this alot in the past based on serial number. Try this one as I have seen this version be more stable with some 7000DLE's, Orion_MkII_Protocol_2_v2.0_pre1.rbf . If you need the firmware, send me an email and I'll send it to you. I did try both pre1 and pre2 a few weeks ago. Unl...

As much as I hate to, I must abandon P2 and 2.6.8. If you have network watchdog turned on (settings, general,hw) then the plug will be pulled (click power off on thetis) if there are no events on the listening network socket (ie no data) for 3 seconds.
