Re: WSJT-X FT8 signal images
I see this quite frequently. It has nothing to do with PSDR. It is the quality of transmitters as they go higher in frequency seeming to reach a crescendo at 6M! Note further I use the NB (both NB and NB2) on 6M all the time - no impact at all ... HOWEVER if there are strong nearby signals - like CW...

Re: Noise blanker/reduction settings?
not in direct response to your posting but definitely in response to your heading for this thread: I played with the NB settings... and found that a THRESHOLD value of 15 is about a 1-2 db improvement for me over the default setting of 32. Consistent - audible - seen on the waterfall and on the S-me...

Re: Resampler Adjustment
John, W1JA, after reading your comments re freq cal and improvements on FT8 I was quite confused - I couldn't see how there would be any connection or correction for that matter by doing this since FT8 is relative and not absolute (its not tied to an absolute frequency)... but I did it anyway - and ...

Re: Guidelines For Best Transmitted Signal Quality With Digi Modes
I recently read the section of the WSJT manual regarding the measurement tools. There is a "linearization tool' there... and it is stated one can use this to get this correct OR if one has the ability to do Linear Phase on TX (vs Low Latency) that you are set to go and need not worry about this...

Re: Things to check post Windows Update...
Thanks Scott... well this is what happened post my note - it might be germane to someone seeing/using this thread. -this morning, with everything powered up 24/7 as usual, I tried to work someone on 60 FT8 - no transmit signal. It went to TX but nothing showed on the TX pan. Tried this and that - re...

Things to check post Windows Update...
I've named this topic - now just need to know what to fill in for it. I've had very good success with Eugene's VAC and FT8/MSK144 for a long time now - I've never had an issue where a Windows update seemed to bother anything. But I had an update 2 days ago (i believe it was) and now I have audio cli...

Re: WSJT-W and Thetis 2.6.9 & DLE-8000
Thanks Scott ... Bhanu, Sorry for the issue. Interesting that your signal is not getting decoded. When you are transmitting do you see the TX display on Thetis? It should show a very tall rather thin profile and it should be shifting slightly left and right... its peak should be 0 db. Are you seeing...

Re: WSJT-W and Thetis 2.6.9 & DLE-8000
How do you know its not just propagation? Or the station chose not to call you? Have you had zero success after many tries? Also your TX power slider seems down a good bit - set the TX meter on Thetis to ALC and confirm the level is -1 (set it to this). But I do have to say I see why it is often dif...

Re: Diveristy Reception Adventures...
Perry, Apologies - I am using an 8000 and wasn't aware that the visibility of that parameter would be subject to hardware. Indeed it is BPF2 and not ADC2 or RX2 ... all I know is I don't have any issues. Actually - thinking more about it - I have my RX array going in to ANT3 (again 8000) as it is a ...

Re: Diveristy Reception Adventures...
I've used diversity a good bit. Note there is a check box to ground ADC2 (RX2 it says) on TX, do you have that checked? I don't have any issues with RF getting in. I've used it with various antennas - primarily where it works is on 15M where I have a 6/6 stack of monobanders and a 4 element custom S...

Issue when using RX ANT function
This was added to my compiled list of PSDR issues/requests: -31 October 2019 Version L: When using the RX ANT capability on CW it turns out that the KEY DOWN has to be at a value of at least 30 (per Doug, W5WC investigating this) or one will get occasional HI SWR showing. He determined that RF is pr...

Re: PureSignal Problems
I can try to capture it - but it is fleeting at best. The spectrum goes wild - WIDE - with the shoulders only a few db down from the peak. But again that event only lasts for a 1/4 second at best. Its there and gone but then PS takes over trying to re-correct and I immediately stop talking. If I'm t...

Re: Amplifier two-tone test
Helmut, I can't say. I don't know if the issue is something associated with the structure of the LDMOS devices or not. That was my thought, that it was associated with the LDMOS construction - its a hell of a lot of power in one very small package vs. with the Expert 2K at least there are 8 MRF151's...

Scott, Ok ... so i've re-read your document on PureSignal in this subforum. Re: Amplifier two-tone test
Anan 8000DLE Using 2 tone test with Expert 2K-FA I see -65db or better. I see typically -60 on SSB. Using 2 tone test with Elecraft KPA1500 (2XLDMOS) I see -50db. I see typically -45 to -50 on SSB. Both at ~1200W out. Disappointing as for other reasons I'm switching to the KPA1500, but from what I u...
Re: 2.6.8
That stated what you had said - the 'black area' is what I had said would be a result of doing this - although I was thinking it would be a line which was the left (or right) edge of the display - the edge you are moving towards. If however you are saying timing-wise it is a different animal - one t...
Re: 2.6.8
I don't know that it matters that if you tune to the edge - in CTUN - you lose where you are! Its the nature of hte beast. You ARE tuning afterall AND asking to tune outside of where you are... NOT showing where you are, i.e. having it off screen to me is a non-starter as it means I don't know where...
Re: 2.6.8

Re: 2.6.8
Re CTUN mouse shift of the window ... when the filter window hits the edge of the displayed window, stop its motion! This of course is accomplished by changing its frequency to keep it positioned at that edge of the screen. That way it is always on the screen - just at the edge as long as you are tu...

Richie, Although I've yet to try Thetis you are making things very interesting! I use the radio a great deal - 24/7 for DXing and need it to be 100% reliable... And then just to be sure - I checked the one I'm currently using, a Netgear GS105, a good 5+ years in service ... and its data sheet, found online, says "non-blocking" ... so I guess I'm there already!

Thanks Scott, So the definition is worthless - "non-blocking, that which does not block" . Doesn't relate to any other facet or name used like managed vs. non-managed... and the only one I've found so far is that plastic cased one, the Netgear that specifically says 'non-blocking' and also...
