Re: Sampling after linear amp - worthwhile/possible?
Yes, this is the preferred way to set things up when you are using an external linear amplifier. Pure signal will then be correcting your entire transmit chain which produces the most optimal result. My RF Sampler is an Xtronic X-DC1 which attenuates the sample by -43dB and I am currently using a fi...

Re: Complete Digital Tutorial
Laurence, After browsing through the Thetis manual you put together, all I can say is "Wow!" It's already been said here, but the amount of work you put into this project is very evident. The first item I browsed to was the section regarding the Andromeda controls. There's a whole lot more...

Re: Anan 100D Updates
Hi Roger, Your 100D is capable of doing everything that the newest ANAN radios can do, so no worries about an end-of-life scenario. The development of the PowerSDR mRX PS software has given way to the development of Thetis, which is a more evolved software platform at this point in time. It runs at ...

Re: Problems With PS in Thetis (Attched Video)
Larry, At this time it is pretty much the way it is across the board with all the different ANAN hardware using the P2 platform. It's my understanding that the assortment of firmware versions you see out there for your 7000 are compiled with slightly different thermal compensation and timing setting...

Re: Problems With PS in Thetis (Attched Video)
Hi Larry, I watched the video and thanks for displaying all the setup screens as well as verbally describing what is happening. I believe that since you are not using an external sampler, you need to make one correction on the transmit tab. Uncheck the Bypass on TX box. What is happening now is that...

Re: Thetis v2.6.9 Install Problem
Hi Bob, Sorry that the LAN group classification is not the problem. That would have been an easy fix! I am not aware of any undocumented releases of the ANAN 200D. As far as I know all that is out there is the REV 15, REV 16, and REV 24 versions of the 200D. The REV 15/16 versions are very similar a...

Mike, I believe that the TX multimeter only remembers the meter function you select while the radio is in transmit mode. Try making your selection for the TX meter while the ANAN is keyed.

Re: Thetis v2.6.9 Install Problem
Hi Bob, I have been pondering the install problem you are experiencing and I had a thought regarding what can happen with the Windows firewall if the port you are connected to the ANAN with is classified as a Public connection. If so, the firewall might allow files to be written to the Program Files...

Hey, good for you for warming up the soldering iron Perry! Glad you fixed it! That Q effect on AM/SAM when narrowing the filter by sliding one edge in the panadapter has always been there, going back to the Flex version of PowerSDR. I believe it happens because you are bringing the very sharp/steep ...

There are some very good tips for easily correcting the problem here: http://a...

LOL, yes I have heard similar comments with a lot of different elements of voice processing. I think if too much of anything is applied the natural sound of a person's voice is lost. There is no question that over-emphasis of certain areas of the voice range with the EQ can make things unpleasant an...

Re: Phase Rotator plug-ins?
Juha,
The CFC Audio Tools built into PSDR mRX PS and Thetis has an excellent phase rotator. It does a fine job of removing asymmetry in your voice to allow maximizing your average power output.

I'd start by taking a look at the 2n7002 FET used in the PTT circuit Perry. I believe it's in close proximity to J11 but that's reaching pretty far back in a dim area of my brain! Then look around it for other damage. I sent you an email with an attachment that might be helpful if you do a search in...

Hi Mark, While I have not ever opened up one of the 7000DLE MKII Black versions of the ANAN line of radios, there are a lot of similarities with the older ANAN rigs that used a slightly smaller version of the black edition form factor. You might find what you need by looking at the case disassembly ...

Hi Todd, Do you have an antenna plugged into the RX2 port on the back of the 7000dle MKII-I7? I believe RX2 will be deaf unless you do. A quicker check would be to try setting DDC3 to ADC0 and then RX2 will receive on the same antenna as RX1. Not sure as far as hooking up the Wellbrook Loop but I wo...
