Re: G2 distorted audio using TRS and standard mic input
I use an Apollo Twin X Audio interface and this interface has a symmetrical TRS output which I connected to the TRS input on the G2. You can't do that. The balanced input on the G2 is a microphone preamp input. You are badly overdriving it with the output of the Apollo. This is why The signal was l...

Re: G2 distorted audio using TRS and standard mic input
Mine was actually a reply to Echo India's post; which was a balanced microphone being connected to an unbalanced input. I wasn't sure which input Slawomir used, but I did see it was another balanced microphone. My bad, Laurence, sorry. I did not read your post carefully and missed who you quoted. M...

Re: Thetis connect via VPN ???
@OZ1CT-Ben Before you get too excited, the situation that ea3aqr describes is exceedingly rare. That is to say, his ability to move data reliably and with low latency over the internet is most unusual. Very few people enjoy that kind of performance over the internet. So, BEFORE you go any further, y...

Thetis is open source. No Thetis developer receives any remuneration from Apache, nor anyone else for that matter. Thetis is used with a growing variety of hardware platforms: Apache, Hermes Lite, Red Pitaya, TRX Duo, and probably some others I can't think of right now. The Thetis CAT interface repr...

The short answer is "No, you can't do it like the Flex."
The reasons for this and other ways to solve the problem are well discussed in the Remote Operations sub-forum:

Re: G2 distorted audio using TRS and standard mic input
You might have misunderstood Slawomir, Laurence. The way I understood Slawomir's post is that the unbalanced mic and line inputs are working fine but that the balanced mic input is not. Maybe he'll reply and clarify. Unfortunately there have now been quite a few reports in this forum of the G2 balan...

Glad to read you found the problem. I had seen your post earlier today and was going to suggest looking at station grounding and bonding and to look for ground loops.
Good grounding practices are extra important for our radios.

Re: Forum going slow
I've noticed the slowdown as well, and it's been getting worse over the last couple of days.
Outstanding observation there, Richie!
I have contacted the appropriate folks and we'll see what happens.

Thanks,

Bryan,
Any progress on having cmASIO automatically match the buffer size of the ASIO device? The device settings should drive the train, not the other way around.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Estimated PBSNR Meter Not Working
The estimated NF calcs are dependant on width shown in the view, fft size, detectors in use, averaging, so many other things. As an example, just zoom out, or in and see the changes. All that button does is shift the NF by a required amount to give a 0dB snr at the noise floor, it doesn't need to b...

Ruben--you show VAC turned on and running direct to the sound interface. That means you are not using cmASIO exclusively and are effectively bypassing Voicemeeter. If you want to test cmASIO, disable VAC.rbduck wrote:

Re: Estimated PBSNR Meter Not Working
Hi Richie, When did the normalize function get added? Previously noise measurements (NPSD, PBNP and PBSNR) utilized the noise floor line that is automatically calculated and the results were within 1dB or less of being accurate. Having a user accessible "normalize" adjustment is just an op...

1st impressions: much improved over my 7000DLE, faster, greatly improved NR (try NR2), audio is wonderful, spectrum resolution much improved. Not sure how you are achieving those results. The RF hardware, ADCs, DAC and audio CODEC are identical or effectively the same as the 7000, and the Thetis so...

There is no sidetone available on VAC (see my post above) unless you are running QSK. Those who want to fully virtualize their CW environment (audio via VAC, key/paddle plugged into PC serial port) and are not using QSK must provision an old fashioned sidetone oscillator wired in parallel with the k...

Re: cmASIO feature in Thetis 2.10.3.5 pre 3
ASIO4ALL is just a wrapper around the standard WDM driver and will create more latency than the WDM driver by itself. It's kind of a joke. This is where Voicemeeter can be useful. It will allow an ASIO connection via its virtual ASIO drivers. Then you can route through Voicemeeter to any sound app o...

Re: Current consumption not showing
It's probably worth mentioning that there are now no less than three different current measurement chips in use across the 7000/Andromeda/G2 family, each with it's own scaling and calibration requirements. Unfortunately there is no way for the software (Thetis, piHPSDR, etc.) to know which one is in...

I know this is a somewhat trite suggestion, but have you tried updating your video drivers?

They are essentially the same as the 7000. The 7000 (all variants), the G2, and Andromeda, all use nearly identical RF hardware designs.

The code turns off the radio if a cat based ptt/mox fails (midi uses cat functions/calls). It fails due to being out of band and then it just powers off. You've got no RF coming in on RX2, so there's nothing to hear.
Check your RX2 RF path. Which ADC do you use for RX2? What port on the back do you use to feed RX2?
