Re: Quick record on AM

Hi Gary, Glad that worked out. As Walter (DL2XY) mentioned, the REC and PLAY buttons in the GUI only record audio and are intended for re-transmitting a received station's audio. It's important to enter TX mode before hitting the PLAY button for this to work as intended. The "Wave File Controls...

"PLEASE tell me how you get it (QUICK REC/PLAY) to work on SSB!" Gary, The REC/PLAY function is for re-transmitting a signal back to another station. If you hit PLAY while you are in receive mode it will do exactly what you have described. After making a recording, switch to transmit, and ...

Re: ACC port on 200D not seating well

One easy thing to try is to install washers under the screw heads of the DB-25 male connector you are plugging into the port. I use a small lock washer under each screw since they are thicker than a standard washer. This keeps the screw from bottoming out in the ANAN's DB-25 female port so that the ...

Hi Keith, That would be a very informative comparison and I am sure many would be interested in the results that you get. As far as the effectiveness of NB1 and NB2 with the ANAN platform, from what I can see, the default settings excel with strong staccato type impulse noise typical of power line n...

Re: Noise Blanker ineffective

I would echo Gary's experience with the NB and NB2 implementation. I don't often have line noise "buzz" after the power company replaced all the poles, transformers, primary and secondary wiring and all the associated hardware in my area several years ago. That being said, there is a 34KV ...

Re: Orion 5.2 firmware released (current protocol/Protocol 1)

Hi, I moved from version 5.0 to 5.2 with my ANAN-200D (REV 24) and found that Pure Signal would no longer function. Same report and symptoms as Erwin mentioned with version 5.1 (the rig behaves as if the RF feedback path is not connected to the rear panel bypass port). I reverted back to firmware ve...

Re: Quick record on AM

Hi Rick, I operate a lot of AM with my ANAN and have used the REC button in the software GUI to make recordings and then play them back over the air with the PLAY button. You do have to be transmitting before you hit the PLAY button for that to work correctly. I have also used the WAVE recording for...

Hi Greg, Congratulations on the new 8000DLE! SDR Console 10-23-2017 64-bit Release with ANAN-200D

I'm not sure if what I am seeing is due to a firmware timing issue, or if I have possibly missed a setting somewhere that is causing my issue. With the ANAN-200D running protocol 2 firmware version 1.1 (the newest available) the SDR-Console definition search function correctly locates my rig. As can...

My first contact with an ANAN running SDR-Console V3

I chatted with Ed-NP2G for several minutes today on 40 meters. He was running his ANAN-8000DLE with Simon's SDR-Console V3. It sounds great and even without APD it looks very respectable in the panadapter. My 200D is not yet able to run V3 as it locks up within a few seconds of starting. My guess is...

A quick follow-up after playing around with OpenHPSDR v3.2.10 this afternoon. The IQ tuning behavior with v3.2.10 is the same as v3.4.2 when CTUN is not enabled. The VFO frequency appears to be accurate but the displayed band of stations in the panadapter does not move at all. With CTUN enabled, whe...

Hi Kevin, I have found that it does not work for me unless I enable the CTUN button (underneath the AVG and PEAK buttons in the GUI). Hi Tommy, As a long time user of a Flex 5000 I have to say that I had tons of fun with mine. That being said, it would be unfair to compare the Flex 5000 with any of the ANAN rigs because they are in very different classes. The direct sampling ANAN rigs with the enhanced CFC Audio Tools and adaptive...

Gary, Another thing to consider is that PowerSDR.exe (OpenHPSDR mRX PS) should be run with administrative privileges as the database.xml file is stored in the "Users" hierarchy of folders and Windows is very fussy about non-admin level programs writing data to that area. Without an adminis...

In most cases, this problem is easily resolved by bringing up the Windows command prompt and typing in the following command: lodctr /R ...and then you press ENTER and Windows magically repairs itself.
