Re: Controller V2
Going back to question 1. Why don't I see V2 or the CPU Usage percentage indicator on the top toolbar of my screen? Because you didn't modify your Raspberry Pi operating system like the author of the manual did before he took those screenshots. Remember that you have a Pi based computer there runni...

Re: Using THETIS SW to control a 200D can not control an external amplifier
Dick, There's a lot to unpack here: 1. Before you get too far you need to upgrade to the latest version of Thetis. 2.8.11 is very old. You want to install 2.9.0.6. You can get it here: https://github.com/ramdor/Thetis-2.9.0/releases/tag/v2.9.0.6 Download the x64.msi file and install. 2. In 2.9.0.6 t...

Re: linHPSDR with some bug fixes
Well I must be a glutton for punishment. I fixed the audio problem, which was just my lack of understanding of the user interface. And I fixed the disconnect problem, which had something to do with having two IP addresses on a single NIC. I had to configure two NICs. I'm only running it on an older ...

Re: linHPSDR with some bug fixes
I fooled with it a bit late yesterday. I can't get anything through pulseaudio, so that would have to be the next Linux mystery to unravel. Meanwhile Youtube in the browser and VLC all work fine, so it's not the OS. Even if I overcome that, the discovery process is broken. If I start linHPSDR, then ...

Re: still need coupler ?
There is a proper internal coupler built into the 7000, and it is automatically selected on transmit. Don't forget, however, to enable ATT on TX in Setup > General > Ant/Filters > Antenna. If you are using an external amplifier then, yes, you need a coupler, or you need an amplifier with a built-in ...

Re: linHPSDR with some bug fixes
Thank you for the response, Jani. I've got it sorted out now. I traced the problem back to a mistake I made, which was needing to load the fft3 library with apt-get instead of apt, and I had not noticed that wdsp didn't build correctly. No red text in the terminal window :D I got fft3 installed corr...

You have to use the headphone jack on the front.
Here is a lengthy thread on powered speakers and how to interface them: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3350

Re: Fatal Error
Looks like it should be an easy fix actually. I'd take a look at it but 2.9.0.3 is the most current version in the git repository. You are looking at the wrong repository. Look to Richie's GitHub repo here: https://github.com/ramdor/Thetis-2.9.0/releases/tag/v2.9.0.6 . The source code is there for ...

Another useful video on two element beamforming. It's easy to see how complex it can get with two matching dipoles. Given the random antennas, at random orientations, with random distances, that we typically use, real world results will be much more of a dog's breakfast. At the end of the day it onl...

You only need one if the laptop does not have a built-in GigE NIC, or if you need an extra one for your laptop. I have no specific recommendations.

Re: Gigabit Ethernet switch
If there is no actual NIC in the laptop a USB3.0 GigE NIC will work fine. USB2.0 will not support the full GiGE speed, so get a laptop with USB3.0 ports.

Re: Gigabit Ethernet switch
I agree with Walter. However, if you have your heart set on a switch, it will need to be an unmanaged switch in order to use Bootloader to load firmware. And even then, not all unmanaged switches will work properly. If you do move forward with a switch, look for an unmanaged switch, in a metal case ...

Looking at the (scant) information available in the documentation for the transverter output, it looks to be nominally +10dBm, and not likely to be over +15dBm max., depending on how you calibrate the drive level in Thetis.

Firstly, my prime reason for buying the V2 Controller, was simply to use the rotary encoder VFO knob for tuning the spectrum, as I dislike using the scroll mouse of point and click to to select frequencies. A few other switches would come in handy as well. Something simple, like the Expert Electron...
