On your ANAN it might be labeled RX2. Apache has labeled it differently over the years.
You might try some of those tests.

Re: Abrupt reduction of noise floor on receive
OK, probably not thermal.
How about a bad relay? Have you tried some of the other antenna inputs, or the second ADC input?

Re: Abrupt reduction of noise floor on receive
Has it always done this, or did the problem suddenly appear, or do you think it's always been there but you've never noticed it before? If the problem suddenly appeared, what changed that might be a contributor? Did you move the ANAN to a place that was hotter or colder? Is this something that could...

Correct Mark, I'm direct for now. But now that my latency issues are solved, ill be setting up VMB and I'm thinking about a DAW Cakewalk. For now I'm keeping my rack mounted audio gear out of it . Vin--why do you feel you need a DAW given all the processing that's already built into Thetis? A lot o...

Re: M-Audio 192/4 Air Vs. Motu M2
If the MOTU is not connected to the rig what does it have do with the sound channels to the rig? Surely the audio it not going out the USB and back in again.... The "rig", meaning the ANAN box, is not a radio by itself. It is part of a radio. It really does not deserve the title "rig...

It's very laudable, proficient and smart to try to find a topic that matches your particular problem or concern and simply reply to it. Such actions help to organize and curate the large body of information we have on the forum and that makes it helpful when people search for solutions. But... There...

You post had nothing to do with the topic you randomly tacked it onto, so it has been moved to its own topic in the proper forum (Protocol 2 firmware problem, Protocol 2 topic, Protocol 2 forum...) Try turning off your Windows firewall. Also run the "firewall check" that is built into Thet...

Re: Click from Microphone
It would not be hard to get out an Ohm meter and check the pinout on the microphone. You could also do some mild disassembly of the mic to further confirm the actual wiring.

Re: Thetis issue with new laptop
When you don't get a spectral display or receive data on a particular computer it is always because of a firewall issue, so I'm stumped. You might consider upgrading to the latest P2 firmware: https://community.apache-labs.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4462 I'm assuming you are running the latest The...

What version of firmware are you running on the 7000? Specific version number, the first line you see in the firmware section in Setup > General > H/W Select.

Re: Click from Microphone
If it's truly wired as discussed, then the only thing I have left to offer is that if you've got the mic PTT button wired up, then unwire it from the TRS connector and see if that fixes the problem.

Yes the cable is custom and the gm4 is 4 pin xlr with pin 4 being ptt 1,2,3 being standard. I read here and heil in bridging pin 1 and 3. I am using ptt at rear of radio via foot switch. Originally when I noticed the click in the element mic+ was on tip and ptt on ring. I flipped the two but still ...

Hey thanks to all for ANY work done and advice. I'm doing very well just off the starting line. I'm stuck between two and three on your list Scott. Also, the peak hold stuff in your video on tx is getting disrupted by vox unkeying/keying between words. There is an ignore time when tx<>rx/bandchange happens before peak/history is gathered, and at the moment this is around 2 seconds. The reason being is that WDSP needs to settle and would otherw...

Re: Thetis issue with new laptop
Does it still work OK on whatever the old PC was?
Also: check your firewall settings. First try disabling the Windows firewall on the new laptop. If that works, then enable it and go to Thetis > Setup > General > H/W Select and use the "Firewall Check" button.

I am using a Heil gm4 dynamic mic. The mic signal is connected to the tip and selected in menu. Bias off and ptt is on I use a foot switch. Good info! How is the footswitch connected to the ANAN? This sounds like it might be a mic and PTT wiring problem. This happens all the time with new users because they don't pay full attention to the proper wiring of the mic TRS connector. As it happens, there will be another P2 firmware version coming out for EP4CE and 5CEFA based hardware because a bug was found in the QSK code in the current builds. So that might (or might not!) fix any problems. When the new firmware will be available I cannot say. It has to go through some alpha ...
