Re: Diversity Operations - RX2 protection while transmitting

I use a DX Engineering "Receiver Guard" RF limiter: https://www.dxengineering.com/parts/DXE-RG5000HD However, if you are really seeing upwards of 30W of power at the output of your receive antenna that is an exceptionally large amount of power! The DX Engineering limiter will only ...

It's the same unit. You will not need to install the DJuced software, just the MIDI drivers.

Re: Intel FPGA CYLONE IV Availability

When it's hobby time and you are willing to risk both your entire circuit card assembly (CCA) and willing to undergo multiple BGA rework cycles to get it right, then you can buy from places like Ali-whatever and play the dangerous game of "is it real, is it fake, is it working, etc?" When ...

Do the parts you specified include these changes? Those parts are the same across all boards from the Orion through the Orion MKIII. I would think 4 A and C could be part of the problem here. Just trying to figure out exactly what it is. Do we actually know what specific changes were made for power...

Stu, I believe that you can go into the database.xml file and manually edit it to modify an existing band plan or add another band plan. I've never done it before, perhaps someone else has. Notepad++ with the xml plug-in is what I use for editing xml but you can certainly use your favorite tool. 73,...

Re: Frequncy Calibration / random change

The 10MHz reference oscillator on all openHPSDR boards, from the Hermes to the Orion, is a TCXO (temperature controlled crystal oscillator). From the Orion card on this part has been the Conner Winfield M100F. http://www.conwin.com/datasheets/tx/tx382.pdf Normally the stability is quite good, it is ...

The smallest UI size possible is 1018 x 609. This is limited by how compressed all of buttons and sliders can get. If you are running on any display with less than 1024x768 resolution you are going to have problems. In the past I've noticed virtual display software available for Windows that creates...

That is very odd. How many S-units is it reducing signals by? Is this on all bands? Are you absolutely sure it does not happen with other radios? Remember that Kenwood, Yaesu and Icom radios have poorly engineered, highly non-linear S-meters (possibly on purpose in order to claim "quiet" r...

Re: Help-with unwanted TX reverb using electret mic PC audio

I find it impossible to monitor my own audio on TX by monitoring (audio delay). You should be able to monitor it well enough to detect any reverb or the like. It is usually quite obvious. It certainly was in your recording. It only take a few short transmissions. Another option would be to use the ...

Dave, My first thought on that was to do a Google search on "Realtek ASIO Voicemeeter". The very first hit was a 5 page thread on the VB Audio forum about how the Realtek ASIO driver doesn't work well or reliably with Voicemeeter. Then I found a similar thread on the Steinberg forum. Not u...

Not a clue. However, next time something weird happens, before going all in on cycling power on everything, try just restarting Thetis first. If that works then the problem was on the software side. If that doesn't work but cycling power on the ANAN does work, then the problem was on the firmware si...

I don't see this on my 100D or 8000. They are both very quiet. And there are not a lot of reports on this issue, although perhaps we'll see a few more now that this topic is started. But it hardly seems epidemic. My gut feel is that this is noise from one of the internal switchers or some sort of cl...

Re: Help-with unwanted TX reverb using electret mic PC audio

If the Realtek ASIO drivers are properly installed, you can see in that latest screenshot that you did not select the Realtek ASIO instances of the mic and speaker devices when you assigned inputs and outputs in Voicemeeter.

Try reassigning them.
