Re: Problem loading firmware on 7000
I want to highlight for others. The root cause here was confusing the Bootloader app with the two different Programmer apps as well. He was on a protocol 1 load and used the protocol 2 programmer. Then crossed wires and tried the bootloader. Protocol 1 in radio, you use the Protocol 1 Programmer app...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues
Thanks I will try that A quick fix, toggle the transmit profile to one that is working, save as "AM", set the bandwidth to say 5kHz and save again. A bit ago some changes were made so transmit profiles are a bit more granular in the state that is kept, which is a good thing but it trips m...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues AM missing
Hi, before I go in hot and heavy and reload everything....has anyone had any issues with AM and SAM. Either I've done something silly with my setup but, when I decided to try and listen to an AM signal....no audio ditto SAM. DSB works as does everything else. And no output if I try and transmit. I'...

Re: TCI + fldigi + Thetis + log4om - they seem to fight each other
Fldigi and Thetis. Either one can change, works smoothly Log4OM and Thetis, either one can change and works smoothly. Add all three and none stably change frequency. A digit changes and then it bounces back to the last state. As to the fldigi options in log4om, I’ve tried it with and without the fld...

Re: TCI + fldigi + Thetis + log4om - they seem to fight each other
Here's the hamlib wrapper. https://github.com/ftl/tciadapter Yeah Scott basically if I try to change frequency in fldigi, log4om or Thetis will try and overrule that. So the main issue is clicking on a signal and hitting QSY to bring it to the center offset in fldigi, thetis and/or log4om will bounc...

TCI + fldigi + Thetis + log4om - they seem to fight each other
I've got TCI working nicely with either fldigi and Thetis or log4om and Thetis, but if I have all three going, they seem to fight over control. Is this a known issue? Fldigi is using the TCI hamlib wrapper network service from github. All are using 40001 for TCI port on loopback. Too many layers to ...

In Collapsed mode the PWR doesn't indicate current value/position, maybe populate the hover over with the value?
Also in Collapsed mode I would like a VAC over/underflow indicator, it could be tucked in the bottom status bar?

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues
Went from one of the k series pre-releases to 2.9.0.5, it needed a remove and a re-install, then no troubles. Symptom was, the radio just didn't "start", software powered up but nothing "running".
The power profiles are a great idea, thanks.

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues
Interesting. Like most who worked from home in the COVID era, I had to use a wide variety of teleconferencing software, including Teams, Zoom, Go to Meeting, Webex and Skype, depending on the customer or organization. Not once did any of those applications ever complain about my audio devices all b...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues
FWIW, that's why I stopped using Voicemeeter and a DAW. I tend to leave my PC running quite a long time between reboots and had to fully bring down and restart Voicemeeter and the rest of the audio software due to having similar issues every few days. I didn't get enough benefit often enough to kee...

Re: Thetis v2.9.0 - Updates and Issues
VAC is working perfectly here. 100% reliable with one exception, which is very occasionally I get bad TX audio (robotic sounding, if that makes any sense), and that is fixed by cycling VAC off-to-on. This only happens if I leave things running for many, many hours. RX audio is never effected. It se...

Re: TCI with RF Kits RF2K amplifier
For the guys having trouble, are the two devices on the same broadcast network? E.g. 192.168.1.2 as one device with a mask of 255.255.255.0 with the other being somewhere between 192.168.1.3-254 ? If not, are you sure the router between the networks is configured to permit traffic to flow?

I almost wonder if the underlying .NET framework is not right and I went through a lot of troubleshooting on that as well with no results. A bit of a head scratcher.

Re: Thetis v2.8.11 - UPDATES and current issues
Anyone want VAC var ratio 'Forced' as part of the TX Profile. It would require a DB update, and be the first since 21f. I always run them forced when using Muzychenko's virtual cables and datamodes. Richie. One of the snags with a lot of the sub features tied to TX profiles comes in when a user has...

Re: Thetis 2_8_11 changes/ideas/wants/wishes
A small one, I think. For MNF when hitting +MNF, I would like it to dump roughly in the middle of the passband vs the zero offset point as it's kind of tricky to grab the notch filter vs the edge of the passband filter. So basically an offset of say 1kHz or so from the current dial frequency so it's...

Re: Audio played back on the air
The signal is recorded as you heard it, after it's propagated, so the frequency response will shift. Then when you transmit it, it will propagate again and the frequency response will shift again. So the received recorded signal has your noise floor, and whatever signal strength it was as you heard ...

Try using the headphone jack as your output if you aren't already. Sounds like a mismatch on drive level to the input of whatever your audio output device is.

That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. I can't count the number of times I adjusted the filter when band conditions were poor and never realized it didn't do anything. Fortunately my audio chain has a quick and easy low cut adjustment. 73 Just to be sure it’s clear, for TX you can certainly ...

Re: Can I stop my PC from upgrading to Windows 11?
Unless your machine is not used for the internet, you should allow the updates to run. They patch security holes. Major upgrades, major version are not done automatically. The automatic updates are just security patches or other bug fixes and you should keep any system that is connected to the inter...

Historical model differences? Is there a matrix anywhere?
It may exist and I just haven't seen it, but is there a matrix somewhere that describes the feature and component differences between the models over the history of them? e.g. A buddy has a blue face 7000, what is the difference with that one and the 7000 dle mkII black face if any? Neither. Raising the slider increases the compression ratio. There is no control over threshold, attack, hold or release time (I was able to get those controls into the downward expander/gate/VOX section, though). Interesting, so what happens if you drop the slider? I may have missed this in the w0...

Re: Thetis v2.8.11 - UPDATES and current issues
I disagree having worked professionally with compressors. If you don’t have an indicator of the gain reduction it can be hard to understand the threshold, level/depth of reduction, attack and release times etc. When you don’t understand how the compressor is applied to and affecting the signal, you ...
