Re: GitHub software contributors "welcome pack" ?

Perhaps, Scott could create a special forum section for this?? We could have some “sticky” posts – to define some goals and how to slowly work towards them. Those willing to chime-in and who have some skill-sets could make their contributions. Eventually there could be some structure and some posit...

Re: vac buffer overruns during 2 tone testing

Well I've been bouncing around looking for anything that might be a culprit or at least reduce the hiccups in transmission. I'm beginning to think that Pure signal maybe involved is some way. PureSignal is not to blame. Either your CPU or your NIC is not keeping up with the demands of the radio. Ha...

Re: Special Production Run Hermes 14 bit.

Tony,

Does the new memory IC require any firmware changes?

Does the new memory IC require any specific jumper settings on the board?

Thanks,

I hate to break it to you, but you are merely discovering what everyone already knows. And doing a good job of telling us all of your own journey of personal discovery ;) Except under very limited and tenuous circumstances you can't run Thetis (or PowerSDR) over Wi-Fi with anything approaching good ...

Re: vac buffer overruns during 2 tone testing

I use a WiFi connection to the internet with the Ethernet connection used for the rig. In desperation (because no combination of buffer size or buffer latency would fix it) I tried disabling the WiFi connection to the internet...............that worked !. To check the fix I turned it back on .........

Re: AM TX low cut filter non-op

This question comes up every so often. It is not a bug. It is by design intent, as described on page 87 of the WDSP Guide: https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-wdsp/blob/master/WDSP%20Guide%2C%20Rev%201.20.pdf . I remember long ago seeing something from Warren with the rationale for this aspect of the ...

Re: GitHub software contributors "welcome pack" ?

Unfortunately there is no equivalent documentation for channelmaster. Aha, actually there is :-) ChannelMaster Guide.pdf Unfortunately, it was never uploaded into the appropriate place within the GitHub/TAPR tree. I don't even know who has upload privileges, to ask that it be included. One caveat: ...

All: I edited the title of this topic to make it more descriptive. I will soon move it to either the audio or digi mode sub-forums, but just look for it on "Active Topics", it'll be there! This is looking more and more like a virtual audio problem of some sort. In other words, it has nothi...

Re: Identifying strange panadapter waveform

Yes, I've been using a dedicated Ethernet card/connection since I first got the rig. Also static IP address. For the moment I'm blaming Windows and its Ethernet driver. I'm hoping when I upgrade my PC it'll solve the problem (currently using an i7 4000-series PC). I've had really, really good perfo...

Re: Identifying strange panadapter waveform

Chris, Richard: have either of you tried a dedicated, direct Ethernet connection to the ANAN hardware? I've found that fixed a lot of problems with UDP packet loss. The openHPSDR thick-client architecture is simple and relatively low cost, but it levies a heavy burden on excellent network performanc...

Re: GitHub software contributors "welcome pack" ?

Dare to dream! ;) There is little to no material or documentation like you are looking for. Unless you develop it yourself the likelihood of there being any is close to zero. In addition, modern, cooperative software development practices have never been used in the openHPSDR community. While you'll...

Re: Identifying strange panadapter waveform

There are no bugs in Thetis that should cause this behavior (except for the occasional VAC instability problem). WSJT-X and other digi modes run perfectly here. Because you did not make a screen capture of the entire Thetis UI it begs a lot of questions: 1. Did you have PureSignal turned on in autom...

I attached a PDF document that was released when Pure Signal 2.0 was introduced. Note that I am unsure who the original author was (Dr. Pratt? Doug? Scott?) I did the final edit on that with substantial input from Warren. You can find all of that information on a conveniently tacked topic right her...

Re: Competition for Pure Signal ?

Thanks for those block diagrams and schematics. There is clearly an RF feedback path in the 7610 that could be used for predistortion linearization for the 7610 alone. However, what remains a mystery is how they propose to linearize the PW2, as there is no obvious feedback path from the PW2 output b...

Re: Severly distorted audio

You are not doing anything wrong, and there is nothing wrong with your PC. The way the VAC audio interface is architected makes it very fragile compared to other examples of the same thing. There is little you can do about that. Adding a DAW into the mix makes things more complex as well. For instan...

Both of those are the wrong part number. Heck, one of them isn't even a BGA package. And nobody in their right mind would attempt to pull and reball a large package like this for production. IMHO Intel has EOL'd most of the Cyclone IV line and just hasn't decided to make it official, yet. A recent F...

Amazon has an endless variety of monitor stands and mounts. If you can't find what you want there you aren't looking hard enough. If your two, 24" displays are both 1920x1080s, then there are a large number of curved, widescreen monitors that have 3840x1080 resolution that would provide the equ...

Winlink and VarAC are the only things I use that don't have TCP/IP CAT support. I fussed with PAT Winlink just to get TCP/IP CAT. I found PAT to be so clunky and immature during the setup process that I never bothered to get it running and went back to Winlink.
