Software:
Thetis_V2.6.5.0_Setup.msi
Thetis_V2.6.6.0_Setup.msi
Firmware:
Hermes_Protocol_2_v10.7.rbf
Everything seems to work fine but no RF-Output at all.
Monitoring and ALC-Indiction are ok.
Any thougts ?

Re: TX DUP signal problem 200D?
Hello Dave. These are 100Hz sidebands. Please check your power supply for defective filter capacitator or rectifier. Maybe you can try another supply. Another possibility is an antenna problem leading to high common mode currents which will flow through rectifier of the supply. That would modulate t...

Re: ANAN-10 PA IMD performance
I don´t know how you measured this - analyzer overdriven ?? at 33dBm on Marker 1 ? Don't worry about the +33dBm, there is a function (Reference Offset) to display the "real world power" on the chart. I have simply forgotten to do this. Analyzer should get max -30dBm at Input to show disto...

Hi Conrad, here are my ANAN100 IMD-tests on 10m band for comparsion. After purchase i had to readjust bias currents due to poor performance (4 years ago). ok, it would be quite simple to add this functionality to source-code. In my personal build i implemented that in this way: In console.cs add a DoubleClick-Event for lblPWR. private void lblPWR_DoubleClick(object sender, EventArgs e) // DL2XY Drive PWR Lock { ptbPWR.Enabled = !ptbPWR.Enabled; // Tog...

More likely you will forget to check the slider after a band or mode change...
If you want to get sure just adjust the PA-Gain setting according to max. amplifier input.

Re: Panadapter level reading when using "tune"
If it helps, the correct display is restored when changing ATT during TUNE.
This is not persistant, on the next tune the error comes up again.

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX
On pure white noise there is virtually no difference to detect. With slightly fluctuating band noise you can reproduce the effect by setting the AGC-Level within the fluctuation band. Everytime the level exceedes the threshold the gain is lowered to come up again with decay time constant. That is pe...

Into a dummy load, with no attenuation, and a 2.7KHz RX passband, the S-meter should be right around S2, S3 at most. Way too much. Just checked on 80m, no ATT, 50Ohm termination at 26°C . 2700 Hz BW: -125 dBm (S-Meter, Avg) 1Hz BW: -159 dBm (Spectrum Display, AVG, 1Hz normalization active) This is ...

Re: Phase Relationship between VFO A and VFO B
Hi Scott: So if this were true, I guess that to fix the problem you'd have to write the FPGA code so as to reset the phase start points to zero for both oscillators upon a change of frequency. Or something like that. It's just simpler:For "Diversity" use the signal of one NCO for both DDC...

Re: Amplitude modulation on 'constant envelope' modes
Hello Conrad, there is virtually no difference in PAPR of MSK144 between WSJT-X and MSHV. But there are much differences in signal quality. Second harmonic of 1kHz Tone (Tune Mode) @ -1dBfs: WSJTX: -98 dBc MSHV: -45 dBc Frequency response (JT65 @ 1kHz AF) is worse too. WSJT-X: 0.06 dB peak MSHV: 0.2...

Re: Amplitude modulation on 'constant envelope' modes
Here are the results of the requested measurements. Analyser is Rohde&Schwarz FSAS in Receiver-Mode (AM-Demodulation). JT65 shows the usual phase jumps at frequency transitions but a straight line between them: JT65 AM.jpg MSK144 has AM components of about 16% as expected. Note the changed scali...

Re: Amplitude modulation on 'constant envelope' modes
I have checked for this issue on Anan100 on 20m, FT8-Mode via VAC from WSJT-X.
Indeed there is a little residue AM of about 1% peak, but only during frequency changes of modulation.
IMHO this is just an effect of the phase jumps during frequency transitions.

Do you use an external sampler unit behind your Expert2K ?
Is it correctly attached and configured to be the PS sample input ?
Do you have MON and DUP enabled?

Re: Quick record on AM
Hi Scott, If you strip the carrier from an AM Signal (this is what DC-Block or ANF are doing) it won't be AM anymore but DSB. If you try to AM-demodulate a DSB signal (this is what you do if you playback former signal in mode AM) you will get heavy distortion. Playing back the same recording in mode...

Hi,
every things are working fine with record/playback, even in AM.
Just do not supress the carrier by having checked "Setup/DSP/AM/DC-BLOCK" during record!

Hi Bryan,
Many thanks for your advise.
Finally i wangled to get VS up and running...
First builds look promising.
My "personal Edition" now supports IARU Region1 60m Band definition without the need to use the "Extended" Region setting.

VAC, MIC and internal Signal Generator inputs are showing correct values. Output power is not effected. edit: Changing S-ATT in TUN cancels the difference...

AFAIK, MultiPSK and Dream only receive IQ, they do not transmit it. Scott, I'm not sure about IQ-tx in Multipsk (IQ-rx is supported) , but Dream definitly can. Just start it "dream -t" to get in tx-mode. dream_config.jpg This is a 10kHz wide DRM signal output by Dream displayed with one o...

But my main interest would be the use of IQ-TX in my own DSP programming experiments.

Re: WSJT-X Setup
The split options are meant as a workaround for rigs with low tx-bandwidth to allow simultaneous JT9/JT65 Mode.
Considering we can define more bandwidth than WSJT-X can support (5kHz) we will never need them.
