Re: Noise cancelling / Phasing using diversity

I have done extensive work with both analog and digital diversity reception over the past few years, particularly for simple beamforming and interference cancellation. John, That's quite a body of work there. In your role as an evangelist for this sort of thing, I would strongly encourage you to ma...

And how exactly can that be done? I see zero options for changing font or font size in Thetis.

There are some subtleties. I'm running Win10Pro, a 4K display, and it runs at 150% scaling no problem.

Does RX2/ADC2 work normally outside of diversity mode?

What connections did you make on the back of the 7000?

Protocol 1 or 2?

They don't understand Thetis, no hardware required.

Although it's $25, I prefer Eterlogic VSPE.

Re: Interfacing Thetis to N1MM?

I think I got the N1MM to follow the radio around. All that is missing is how to get cluster spots switched on. In N1MM you need to bring up the bandmap window, which is where the spots are shown. What spots are shown, and from what servers ("clusters") is selected in the Telnet window. I...

The firmware installed is Protocol 1 Hermes v1.5. With this firmware, PowerSDRmrx3.4.9 as well as Thetis v.2.8.11 are working apparently. But Thetis v2.9.0.6 does not work. There should be no problem with Thetis 2.9.0.6. What symptoms are you having when trying to run it? So, to change the firmware...

However, then it becomes difficult to go back to the previous version. Reverting back can be very important when dealing with...

There are no "hidden menus". Any properly saved TX profile can always be recalled flawlessly. Confusion often results if you have the TX profile auto-save options enabled in Settings > Transmit. I strongly recommend those be turned off and TX profiles be manually saved as required. This wa...

Re: Echo on audio when using "Radio Mic Boost"

I am still using the mic boost, without this I have to increase the mic gain from 10 to 45 to get a reasonable audio level and then the echo is still present. I do have the mic bias set correctly as it doesn't work at all if I change the jumper. While it probably has nothing at all to do with this ...

Sorry for the delay in replying, been busy. 5 months later is very busy, ha ha :D So maybe my comment about being RF was incorrect. I can't speak to the behavior of the unit when overheating, however all of the units other than the 8000 use the external chassis as a heatsink for the main heat producers, which are the 100W RF amplifier FETs. Those FETs are mechanically attached directly to the chassis. Because the mechanical desi...

It can't be a hardware problem because you can hear MON audio. Is Master AF turned up? Is RX1 AF turned up? Is MUT off? Is AGC Gain set appropriately? And your version of Thetis is ancient. You should upgrade to the latest version of Thetis, 2.9.0.6, which can be found here . The x64 (64 bit) versio...

Horses for courses. Every direct sampling HF transceiver on the market has something to offer. If only we could get all the best features in a single radio. Seems like we got 80% of the way there and then went on cruise control design-wise. A truer statement was never written.
