Re: GUI Optimized for 4K

I'm using an LG 32" 4k monitor and Win 10 scaling at 125%. With this setup I can fit the six components of DXLab that I use most (cmd, dxk, dxv, pf, pv, sc), along with OpenHPSDR mrX 3.4.2 and WSJT-X with JTAlert - all with a bit of extra screen room left over to bring up DXLab's ww if I want (...

Re: 630m and 2200m support?

As far as I can tell looking at the code, that button was originally used to select the 2m band (judging by the variable naming convention). Somebody evidently had a new use in mind after implementing the VHF+ button. But as of now, the LF/MF button does nothing but light up when you press it.

Thanks for tracking it down, Andrew. Glad there's a fix, but it's clearly not something that should happen. I'll have a look when I get a chance.

Re: v.3.4.x xml d/b creation bug?

Andrew, Thanks for noting this. It's not really a bug but certainly may be incorrect. The way the code is structured (I don't know how far back this goes), these segments and names are literally hard-coded into the software. I'll have a look at it and see if we can correct it according to what you p...

Re: 8000DLE serial number label

So, the question remains: what to do about it? What's the glue Apache started using? Or did they do it right and make a more permanent marking? Absent any official recommendation, I suppose I'll wing it. But I'd think the correct way would be to use a stronger glue and then coat it with clear-coat (...

8000DLE serial number label

Is anyone else having the problem of the serial number label peeling off its position on the rear underside cabinet? I imagine I'm not the only one. What is the suggested permanent fix? By the way whose idea was it to use a paper label for the serial number on a $4k piece of equipment? (I think I'm ...

Paul,

Thanks for the additional details and history. And the offer. I do have a complete set of schematics for the '89.

By the way I replaced the TX PIN diodes a few years ago. I sure enjoy completely silent QSK.

Re: Electronic bias systems vs. PureSignal

There seems to be several versions of the Alpha 89 out there. Mine is a 1994-vintage one (with the ETO logo) and has no dynamic bias manipulation. You have two states from which to choose: SSB and CW, as someone's described earlier, which insert one or two zener diodes. PS has no problems with this ...

Ok, that makes sense, Scott.

So then my question is: where in the forum is the proper place to ask a question about a radio itself (i.e. the hardware) - a question having nothing to do with interfacing to anything else?

Should we have a topic grouping around the various hardware models? Right now I don't see a place for questions about a specific Apache model, or OpenSDR board. There is a firmware group with a topic around each hardware platform. There is also a Topic group called Hardware & Software Interfacin...

Shige-san, I looked at this again (more carefully) and can now confirm that the Behringer controller also behaves this way, compared with the PowerSDR/OpenSDR console. I incorrectly told you otherwise when we exchanged emails last week - my apologies. There is indeed apparently a difference. I concl...

Geoff, No harm in asking. Good ideas abound and no one has a monopoly on them. (The beauty of open source.) 1 - MNF already is saved and restored in the DB. Are you seeing otherwise. It works for me. 2 - RIT has been changeable when off for a while. It works that way on many rigs-with-knobs, too. 3 ...

Tony, You can see my current mappings here: http://w2pa.net/SDR/2017/05/06/summary-of-mods-for-both-behringer-cmd-pl-1-and-cmd-micro/ It took me a few iterations to arrive at an arrangement I like for most operating. Re: Behringer CMD Micro installed

Sorry for the delayed response but it looks great, Tony. I chose to put the labels on top of the buttons and find it works fine, but of course blocks the existing lit-up label. This is fine for me and avoids confusing dual labeling. The one exception is I kept the "Sync" button as-is and m...

Re: FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

Scott, I'd only make one slight modification to your #1: MIDI and CAT commands to PowerSDR will never directly cause focus to shift. When the Grab Focus thing is active in N1MM+, using the MIDI controller to change frequency in PSDR is detected by N1MM+ which, in turn, causes focus to shift if Grab ...

Re: PowerSDR mRX PS v3.4.1 - Embedded CFC Preset TX Profiles

Importing a TXProfile doesn't touch either the State table or the Options table, as they aren't present at all in a TXProfile database file. There is a separate table just for TXProfiles named, appropriately enough, TXProfile. I will look into how xvtr settings are saved. Rob has identified the ones...

Re: FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

Well, there does seem to be some inconsistency going on. N1MM now works fine with PSDR. Conditions are: PSDR set to N1MM+ Logger, N1MM+ set to Grab Focus. Now, N1MM+ will take focus after 2 seconds no matter which other window I click on. If I tune the radio, focus goes back to N1MM+. But occasional...

Re: FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

Experimenting a bit further: It's not really true that N1MM is able to grab focus *entirely* from other applications. If, for example, I have Firefox with focus, then tune PSDR using the MIDI controller, N1MM does indeed grab focus, but it doesn't activate its text entry field. Only when I touch the...

Re: FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

I've experimented with this a bit just now too and conclude that this has nothing to do with FocusMaster. With or without FocusMaster enabled, N1MM has its own ability to grab focus when the radio that it's connected to gets tuned. That is what you want to have happen so you can rapidly enter a call...

Keeping MIDI setup when upgrading versions

Just a note on upgrades... When you update PowerSDR-OpenHPSDR mRX PS - such as today to v3.4.1, you need to copy the midi2cat.xml file from your old installation into the new directory where your database file sits. This is because the MIDI settings are stored separately from all the other database ...

Re: Can not get PowerSDR_mRX_PS_v3.3.16.0_Setup to run

Joe, This looks to me like you have a database file that's gotten corrupted somehow, and it's happening during start-up. The fix is to (1) rename your database.xml file to something else, (2) find another database file on your computer that has worked in the past, (3) copy that file into the directo...

Tony, The master AF Gain is currently not mappable to a PL-1 mini-wheel, only to a knob/slider. But I can add that in the next release if you'd like.
