Re: Abrupt change in freq & correction factor changes
If you shop carefully on eBay for a BG7TBL (real or derivative) model GPSDO, you'll find them with the OCXO prominently featured in a photo as part of the listing (and that photo is important because you really want to know what you are buying). There are plenty on eBay right now for less than $150...

Re: Abrupt change in freq & correction factor changes
I was looking for a Thread like this because I have been puzzled for a bit now. My new Anan 7000 DLE is also doing the same. I received mine in late April 2023. I have not checked to see what FPGA is in it. After calibrating to 10.0Mhz WWV. And watching the waterfall in WSJTX on 6M for about 15 min...

Re: Abrupt change in freq & correction factor changes
FWIW awhile back I tested locking the 7000 to a 10 MHz output from the TinySA Ultra, and I wasn't able to reproduce the problem. The current firmware is Orion_MkIII_Protocol_2_v2.1.27G.rbf, but I believe I was having this problem since the day the radio arrived with the factory protocol 1 firmware, ...

Re: Abrupt change in freq & correction factor changes
Robert, I'm one of the other users that has reported this issue and I'm sorry to hear it's affecting you. Sadly it continues to be a problem. I have one of the in-between 7000's from last year with the EP4CE Cyclone IV FPGA's. The way this presents is; I'll make a transmission, and when I unkey I'll...

Re: Suggestions to improve PS operation on 7k DLE Mk2.5?
IMHO the "factory spec's" are rather optimistic, to say the least. -50dBc is typically what I see out of my modified 100D and my 8000DLE, with or without an external amplifier. People used to be seriously into tweaking the bias of the internal amp in the 100D and 200D days, and working on...

Suggestions to improve PS operation on 7k DLE Mk2.5?
I am looking for ideas or suggestions on how PureSignal performance can be improved. The factory spec for the EP4CE 7000 DLE Mk2 is -68 IMD3 on 20m @ 100w, but I have never been able to do better than maybe -50 to -55 IMD3, with either the inbuilt coupler or an external coupler. Following are measur...

Re: ANAN-7000 & Andromeda EP4CE & 5CEFA P2 Beta (QSK Fix)
I have noticed that running version G on an EP4CE 7000 DLE Mk2, my noise floor is about 10 dB higher in Wideband in receive than it was on the original C release. And, that during XMIT the noise floor bounces around from -120 to -130. Is this related to a timing issue and is there anything that can ...

Re: S Meter issue ( FIXED!)
The TinySA Ultra is packed with lots of great features, including the SA, signal generator, zero span, waterfall/fft, tons of useful built in measurement tools like OIP3, phase noise, harmonics, thd, channel power, and more. I use it with appropriate taps and attenuators for taking calibrated power ...

Re: APACHE LABS All band all mode or UHF\VHF hardware
High sampling rate ADC's are export controlled due to potential application in weapon systems, military and other applications. Given you would want coverage of higher bands, and would probably want some over sampling, you'd need a relatively high speed ADC. How is such a radio to be developed of th...

The are no names to keep straight. If it's a firmware issue just note what FPGA you have. Rick has already posted above that this is a confirmed issue for all but the original version with the EP4CGX FPGA. What is this post adding to the thread? It would be good if others with hardware based on the...

Re: Anan 7000DLE MKii to Auto Antenna Tuner
With a lot of the auto tuners in combination with the open collector outputs on the anan, it can be made to work. I just got this working with my MFJ-998. Wherever I QSY to on the anan, I click TUN which sends 10w and initiates a tuning cycle on the tuner by asserting Pin 6 (TUN only). Then, if I ne...

Re: 7000DLE interfaced with MFJ-998 Tuner?
Just wanted to let everyone know you can control the MFJ-998 from the OC outputs. The tuner side is an ethernet plug. If you put the tuner in Kenwood mode and pull the right 2 wires to ground, and send tuning power, the tuner will run a tune cycle. Easy peasy. I forgot to write down the pins, but it...

Windows 11 FPS Drop Issue
I have a brand spanking new Windows 11 installation with fresh Thetis 2.9.0.6 x64, and I've discovered a problem. I have two monitors, the primary being a 144hz display, Thetis is always used on this monitor. I have the FPS set to 120, and when the Thetis window is selected, the FPS drops to 60. If ...

Re: S Meter issue ( not fixed )
On my ANAN 7000DLE MKII (latest serial number) works great but it looses the calibration and reverts to default as soon as the Thetis v2.9.0.6 x64 (4/23/22) is closed. By default Thetis reports about 7dBm in excess, (a calibrated -73 turns into -66 dBm.). I have to run the calibration routine every...

Re: CESSB & COMP--obsolete or not?
After the reduction, there's still a significant overall loudness change when CFC is engaged. Of course. CFC reduces the dynamic range of the audio by exactly the same amount regardless of where the pre-comp slider is set. All you are doing is moving the span of that dynamic range up or down in the...

Re: Unstable, wide, nasty spur
Thanks for this list. I went through and checked and pretty much have all of these. Actually, have quite a few in the ham bands too. The 160m one is -86 dBm. Far far louder than even the -100 suggested noise floor from Apache. At the top of 75m, 3977khz is -99. Oof. 5169 khz is -90. Also got one sma...

Here are some points I just shared with a customer: 1. More that 50% of the new FPGA is free and available for future additions, the device was chosen keeping in mind the future requirements 2. There is absolutely no change in the bootloader/Firmware Verilog code, only the device has been redefined...

This is exactly how I felt. I reported the issues within 1 day of receiving the unit. I spent many hours doing troubleshooting with Doug. He concurred the unit was defective. Re: Frequncy Calibration / random change
I'd just like to bump this again. I think I understand that the frequency standard in the radio is a VCXO, perhaps there is some problem with the voltage regulation. Even with the radio left at 1.0000000 cal correction, the issue occurs above 20m when transmitting for more than 15 seconds, even into...
