Re: cmASIO feature in Thetis

Can cmASIO be used over the internet using remote desktop software? Not directly. You can pass it through Voicemeeter to one of your remote access app's. If you have more questions about remote op's please post them in the remote op's part of the forum: https://community.apache-labs.com/viewforum.p...

Re: cmASIO feature in Thetis

There's no setting on the various audio tabs that has any effect on cmASIO. It has nothing to do with VAC.

This is starting to sound like RFI. What happens on 80M if you run into a dummy load?

Short answer: make the filter length shorter in Setup > DSP > Options.

And I'm amazed that Thetis doesn't have built in buttons for programmable CAT macros. Not really amazed, of course... Consider that Thetis is fully open source and developed by volunteers doing it for the love of the hobby. Consider also that the number of folks who have done substantial work on it ...

Re: CAT over TCP/IP rocks! And so does Hamlib!

That last post confused me for a while. There's no need to use rigctlcom for Winlink unless you have run out of serial CAT instances in Thetis. I.e. this approach does not eliminate the use of virtual serial connections where Winlink is concerned.

How are you starting VSPE right now? Does it load as a service, is it launched as a startup item, or is it launched from a script?

Re: Background noise reports - mic / gain setup?

Thanks Scott - yes phantom power is on. Clearly a boom arm is now on my shopping list. If I shoot for ~ -3dB peaks on the MIC meter via the gain on the Motu (VAC TX gain at 0dB, TX eq off), I do see some minor clipping on the Motu display on the pops and whistles. Maybe thats ok? I'm not Scott but ...

Richie can't fix that problem. It could be fixed in VSPE if Eterlogic implemented a retry process on that type of port.

Re: Background noise reports - mic / gain setup?

I'm using a Behringer B1 large diameter condenser into a Presonus Studio 192 interface. It is twice as sensitive as the CL7a, 20mv/Pa vs 10mv/Pa, and I don't have any objectionable room noise. Your gain settings seem insanely high across the board. The Motu gain should not be anywhere close to max. ...

Re: Help: Cannot connect ANAN G2 to Thetis

Have you reviewed the manual? This does not sound like a networking problem. The 0.0.0.0 nonsense is for the FPGA-based models, not the Pi based model. You are working with Raspian Linux where networking is concerned. Use the usual Linux commands on the G2 desktop to ensure it is set the way you wan...

Go to Setup > DSP > Options.

If they are not already set like this, try changing filter type to linear phase and filter size to 1024.

Bryan--would you consider adding a feature to allow cmASIO to obtain the buffer setting from the driver rather than mandating a fixed buffer of 64?

Re: cmASIO feature in Thetis

Great video, Richie! A couple of comments/thoughts... The primary reason for this is not latency per se (although that is a definite benefit!), but for people who are in a fully virtualized environment (radio as a black box with only an Ethernet connection to the hardware--ANAN or otherwise) to be a...

No side tone in CW using CWX & 'SEMI' after Thetis and cmASIO upgrade. I do have sidetone if CW is set to QSK and also pressing TUN but not in SEMI mode. This is a normal limitation of the current software & firmware. This issue goes all the way back to the beginning of the openHPSDR projec...

About the PTT I prefer to have a foot PTT so I will find a way to fix...maybe whit node-red I now use whit my flex. Why go to all that trouble? Why not use the serial port method I posted above? I have a footswitch on mine. You can run CW remotely with key interfaced to Thetis via a serial port, too.

Re: G2 distorted audio using TRS and standard mic input

I use an Apollo Twin X Audio interface and this interface has a symmetrical TRS output which I connected to the TRS input on the G2. You can't do that. The balanced input on the G2 is a microphone preamp input. You are badly overdriving it with the output of the Apollo. This is why The signal was l...

Mine was actually a reply to Echo India's post; which was a balanced microphone being connected to an unbalanced input. I wasn't sure which input Slawomir used, but I did see it was another balanced microphone. My bad, Laurence, sorry. I did not read your post carefully and missed who you quoted. M...
