The Programmer does not work with the 10e because the FPGA of the 10e is not large enough to accommodate the Programmer's firmware updating process. This has been the case since the 10e was introduced.

Re: ANAN-100B Pure Signal Connection
Bernhard and Scott I haven't checked my theoretical results with a separate receiver... but perhaps some others, in addition to Scott... who have access to a physically separate SDR... can comment. Someday I will upgrade to a new SDR model, and I will use the new SDR to verify the IMD improvement pr...

Re: ANAN-100B Pure Signal Connection
Bernhard If your ANAN 100 is set to produce 92W of output => approximately +50dBm... and the internal feedback signal level (dup on, and no external feedback) is -10dBm... then the internal "crosstalk" coupling from the RF output to the RX1 input is (-10dBm) - (50dBm) = -60dB. I have previ...

Re: External feedback level calculations
Brent You aren't missing anything. The XDC-1 is designed to operate as specified if both of its sample output ports are terminated with (i.e. looking into) 50 ohm loads. As you described, the XDC-1 forward sample output port is looking into a 50 ohm coaxial cable that is connected to the input of th...

Re: External feedback level calculations
Brent Make sure that the line attenuator that you are using is terminated in 50 ohms (i.e. the impedance looking into the feedback port of the 8000 or the 200D), and not 25 ohms (the impedance looking into the feedback port of the 8000 or the 200D ... in combination with an extraneous, parallel 50 o...

Re: Operating amplfiers in digital modes
Scott The method you described for adjusting the output power... while beneficial in utilizing the full range of the D/A converter... will not have any effect on the issue of reduced RF amplifier efficiency at reduced RF output power levels. With a fixed RF load impedance, the amplifier's drain volt...

Operating amplfiers in digital modes
Solid state linear amplifiers (such as the amplifiers in the RF chain of an ANAN-X transceiver or a solid state external linear amplifier) have RF output circuits that provide a fixed (designed in) RF load impedance to the output transistors*. *In contrast to traditional tube amplifiers that incorpo...
