Re: Presonus Studio 192 Mobile
Hi Paul, It’s perfectly normal for the Var Ratio to “hunt” around a bit when referencing your radio and sound device from a common clock. Mine sure does. Even if you check the Force box, which stops the matching loop from steering the variable resampler, the matching loop is still trying to measure ...

Hi Paul,
I am interested in seeing what kind of VAC1 settings you are now able to get away with using the new Presonus. Care to post a screen shot?

Re: Resampler Adjustment
Hi Helmut, Am I reading your waterfall display correctly? It’s sweeping back and forth approximately 25 Hz? I don’t have FT8 running on my 7000DLEMKI, but I know it’s not drifting 25Hz, I would hear that instantly in SSB. Does the sweeping eventually slow down and stop? The reason I ask is because t...

Re: Resampler Adjustment
Hi Brent, Looks like you’re making good progress there now. The PortAudio latency setting is exactly the same thing as the old buffer latency setting in PowerSDR, only the name has changed. In Thetis we now have separate controls for input and output, whereas In PowerSDR they were ganged. Doug and I...

Hi Brent,
When you say buffer latency must be in auto, do you mean the ringbuffer control or the PortAudio control?
What F/W sampling rate are you using?
What sound API are you using, ASIO?

Hi Paul,
I believe the spec for Wordclock is just a TTL square wave at whichever sample rate you’re running (48k, 96k, etc).

Paul,
Arguably the best feature of the Studio 192 is the Wordclock reference input. Clock your radio and the Presonus from a common GPSDO and then you no longer need a variable resampler.

Re: Thetis QSK and the new default low-latency filters
Jeff, What you are hearing in the MON is probably something else altogether. The monitor feed isn’t audio at all, it’s the actual baseband IQ stream being sent back to the DUC for transmit. Sounds kind of like funny out of phase audio. Also, if you have PureSignal running, you’re hearing the predist...

Hi Chris, I agree with everything you posted above. I noticed the funny sound you describe from the very beginning, but nobody else agreed, so I just forgot about it and ran the linear phase filters. Luckily, with Warren”s new pipelined overlap/add buffers, the linear phase filters are almost as fas...

Have you measured PureSignal two-tone IMD performance from your LDMOS amp when bypassing the 7000 PA?

I wasn’t aware that OrionI-II P2 v1.9 still suffered from the tx/rx crash problem. All that went away for W2SDR and me once we went to 1.9.

Take a look at the Apache Labs website this morning.
The old style 7000DLE is no longer in the product lineup.
It was still there as late as Saturday, when I last looked.

Re: Audio record doesn't work at all in v3.4.9?
Hi Jim, This smells like a classic database.xml corruption problem, but apparently you have eliminated that possibility by deleting the Roaming sub folders. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to explicitly delete your database.xml file again, just to make sure. I can only offer the fact that the record feature...

Hi Joe,
It may help if you post a screenshot of your VAC1 setup form (or VAC2 if that’s what you’re using) for folks here to look at and analyze.
Also what primary sample rate are you running there, 192k I assume?

Hi All,
On the Setup/Tests tab, does anyone know how to run the Signal Generator Receive feature. It works fine using the “Noise” mode, but nothing seems to be happening when I try the “Tone” mode.

Hi Joe,
This is an excellent example of why Visual Studio is the ultimate “Setup” menu!
IMO, our being able to do this sort of thing is the killer feature of OpenHPSDR.
Fun isn’t it?

No, it should lock in immediately with no calibration needed.
W2FMU had some initial trouble with his 7000 locking to a 10MHz GPSDO, but now I can’t remember what the fix was. Get in touch with Ernie for more/better info.

Re: Coherent IQ Streams for Adaptive EME
Hi Conrad, Does your 40 degree error seem to be constant for all signals on the band, or does it seem to depend on the polar angle of the incoming signal? The reason I ask is that there is a chance that the I & Q channels for RX2 are reversed in the code, which would be giving us the complement ...

I don’t recall which rig you have there, but if it is pre-OrionII you may be seeing phase shift through Alex on RX1 that doesn’t exist on RX2. Possible?

Something to watch out for: it’s been reported here before that “Diversity” mode will sometimes lose coherence when QSYing with the VFO. If so, that’s a bug that needs fixing.

Hi Conrad, The IQ levels coming out of VAC1 are pretty low on my sound card’s VU meters. I assume this is because the raw DDC streams are not being pumped by AGC. So make sure to turn up all your gain controls, the signal might be easy to miss. Sorry I don’t have VMB here to help test. Maybe I shoul...
