Re: Panadapter "view" in TX with DUP on - using PS

Stu, Ok .... indeed there has been a reported issue with the connections on the back being reversed - but is it even possible that it would work at all? It DOES appear to be working at least re what I'm seeing displayed. AND when I include the amplifier you can clearly see that the SATT value change...

Transmit signal levels on panadapter

re: TX PANADAPTER This is a slight divergence from the previous thread but it is germane to this topic title: On TX ... why is it that the displayed TX signal is all over the place relative to the vertical magnitude scale? I have TX PAN set at 0 and -70 .... and a good bit of the time when I TX the ...

Re: Panadapter "view" in TX with DUP on - using PS

Walter, Sorry - left that detail out - indeed I'm using the Expert 2K with a Xtronics XDC-4SO coupler on its output. I'm seeing what is a clean signal on the panadapter while using DUP ... which I understood was essentially an actual "received" signal display so highly accurate ... and it ...

Panadapter "view" in TX with DUP on - using PS

I've been using Puresignal for months now ... I've had people stop in and say how narrow the TX'd waveform was ... except on 75 meters. Twice now over the last couple of weeks I've had two different stations break in and say I was spattering - bad. They said i was not TOO strong ... last night the g...

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

Kevin, For the most part I don't have any problems working weak stations on FT8 - that wouldn't have any direct impact I wouldn't think - if you were concerned that your xmit was affected, which is what this has been about, then it would be to have someone pick you up if you were weak and not the ot...

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

Mike, The VAC sample rate is 48K ... not 192K ... or did you understand that to be the case? The rig's Primary sample rate is 96K. I've never needed wider than that until literally just last night while trying to work a station split on 40 meters where the split was more than 48Khz (1/2 the 96)... I...

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

Happy to - not sure which screen shots would be necessary though. We've got Audio Primary set at 2K/96K; VAC using WDM-KS and set at 2K/48K. Buffer box checked and set at 120mS (default?). In WSJT-X there's nothing to set other than the VAC cable #. but let me know which panel and i'll get a shot of...

Glen, Attach the RX antenna to ADC2 for RX2 ... turn on RX2 ... now click "SD" (bottom near center). Now you will see both panadapters locked to each other (don't get confused by the VFOB being somewhere else - look at the panadapter) ... push the slider for RX2 audio - lower left labeled ...

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

Scott, Like NB2 had no bearing on the TX display - as stated by you - until you TRIED it and found indeed it DID have a bearing! Since I hadn't a clue, nor did you, whether or not Glen HAD it on - or for that matter if it would affect it AS IT CLEARLY DOES on SSB, I think it was important to ask the...

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

I've not checked to see if this is the case - but I can tell you the TX waveform when using SSB jumps a good bit IF the NB/NB2 is turned on. So if you are running this and either of these are on I'd try turning them off ... if indeed this is the case if you would report back so we know it also appli...

Re: CW in the Pan and Waterfall

Roly, Seems odd .... the first thing that comes to mind is how wide is the window - and do you have XIT turned on with a value that puts your signal outside of that window? That would do what you are describing ... I suspect its not the case as generally most don't have the window that narrow (I do ...

Re: N1MM+ with PSDR mRX on CW

Scott, I'm at a loss as to what "mis-configuration" i could have had. There really isn't any rocket science here - there are only a few settings that come in to play. Actually, not sitting at that computer and just thinking about - just the two come to mind "Primary and Secondary"...

Re: CW Mode Operation

Hi Prem, Sounds like great progress is being made! Super job my friend. As for your last questions - I'll let Scott or others answer these. CW might not lend itself to the use of VAC other than for CW Skimmer use. I believe I can say that MON will only work from the radio FPGA and won't work externa...

Re: CW Mode Operation

Change the break in delay setting seen just below the APF window when in CW mode. Just be aware if it is too long you might miss the first element of someone replying to you! The relays CAN be annoying. They're not quiet that is for sure.

Re: CW Mode Operation

Prem, Can you tell me where exactly, IC and pin number that you found to be not soldered correctly? It seems odd that this happened on one connection since the key line is 2 lines, and you were obviously seeing iambic operation (both lines active) ... and if it were MOX related then you'd see it go ...

Re: CW Mode Operation

Prem, Super - congrats! I had a poor solder connection on one of the caps on my Orion II board as well ... As for setting it up - assuming you are using an iambic paddle you will want to turn it on - if you're new I'd suggest you use "semi-breakin" by checking that box and setting it to ab...

Re: CW Mode Operation

Stu, I pointed that out a few days ago - that we're seeing the results of "iambic" action ... but its clear it isn't going in ... or at least as measured coming out of the buffer since both dit and dah are high. I distinguish between coming out of the buffer vs. going in to the FPGA simply...

Re: CW Mode Operation

As I suspected - hardware very rarely fails. So its not the buffer. There is some weird state - something programmed that has a bearing on it. Note that it doesn't have to make sense. There was an issue in an earlier version when I first started using the program where there was a parameter called &...

Gary, Are you talking about the CMD 2A? I am using it. I have the AGC RX1 programmed to the knob in the left rear. Prem..... its obvious it is being keyed - check U25. I'd HOPE that it isn't hardware as hardware should be more reliable... as a side note look at the rate of what appears to be the imabic keying (dit/dah when both on) ... it is slow - I had to go back through the video to confirm - he did have the original jpg showing 40 WPM and I had suggested he reduce that - and sure enough its set at 6 WPM in the video! Prem, Ok - looking at the power meter it does look like it is transmitting something other than a pure carrier - it looks like it is turning on and off ... and you have nothing connected to the CW jack on the rig? Scott, Forgive my ignorance .... just to be sure I understand. So IF I want to use PS, which was one of the top of the list items for getting the radio, I can't "hear" what I sound like using MON - correct? If the answer is yes then let me ask this: if I turn PS off and listen to my signal...

Re: IMPORTANT UPDATE/DO NOT USE: 7000DLE fan noise fix

Volker, Not sure if Scott is going to want to move this but - use DIG2 as an external keyer? Why would you put the radio in DIG mode to use it in CW? What am I missing? I DO have a microHAM Keyer II and I was not able to get N1MM+ to work driving the radio on CW ... not sure if this applies or not. ...
