Yes.
Just in case it wasn't clear from Rob's description, my preference is to use the shielded, two conductor professional microphone cable and bond MIC- and SHIELD at both ends, not just at one end.

Re: HTTP Server?
I've worked up an outline design with Doug and Warren for a client/server split in Thetis. That's great, Laurence! It is a monstrous amount of effort - probably a person-year of full time work. Done part time in evenings, potentially several years. There is something like 600 function calls that ne...

Re: HTTP Server?
Welcome to the wonderful world of ham radio open source development, Leon. It is such a small and highly specialized world that it is a rare thing indeed to find any developers at all. We have been extremely lucky to obtain what we have. IMHO I'd rather see a dev. tackle a true client/server split o...

Re: Using the Open Collector DB9F connector for CAT control
Bob, The 9 pin connector on the back of the ANAN hardware is not a serial port or USB port. It carries the open collector outputs which, with appropriate external circuitry, and be used to control things like switches. If you attach that port to something like another serial port or attach a USB-to-...

Re: Typical network bandwidth
Thetis (and PowerSDR before it), along with the firmware used to run the ANAN hardware, comprises a so-called "thick client" architecture. In this architecture radio functionality is split between the hardware unit and the supporting computer, with bulk of the data processing performed by ...

Re: Trouble with your microphone? Read this...
I believe the mic default setting is "Tip". Please confirm that's what you are set to. I also believe that the PTT "Off" setting is incorrectly labeled. Referring to the Orion MKII schematic, there are only two possible hardware states for PTT, Tip or Ring. Thus setting PTT to &q...

Re: Anan-8000 no audio
So I learned an expensive lesson don't hot swap condenser mic ! Seriously? That should not be a problem. The maximum bias output of the TLV320AIC23B CODEC is 3ma. There is a 3.3K series resistor on the output circuit that would limit the 2.75V bias voltage (3/4 of the 3.3V supply voltage to the COD...

Re: Difference between PowerSDR mRX and Thetis?
Thetis has some major functional differences: - First and foremost, it supports Protocol 2 firmware. Protocol 2 firmware supports 768KHz and 1.536MHz IF sample rates, and the use of those sample rates is unrestricted i.e. PureSignal can be used with them and Diversity as well. - However, Thetis also...

Re: Enable CAT Grayed-Out
Certainly. For me VSPM has often caused an inability to make a virtual serial port connection without having to reboot. It will work for a while, then just stop. To add insult to injury, when combined with DDUtil this problem had persisted for me across reboots. All honor to Steve, and I love what h...

Re: Enable CAT Grayed-Out
USB ports don't count as COM ports unless you have an RS-232--to-USB adapter plugged in. But you don't need that. Voicemeeter provides only virtual audio connections, no virtual serial COM connections, so while you do need Voicemeeter, it has nothing to do with CAT connections, only audio. What you ...

There is a US service facility. It is run by Doug, W5WC. Doug always provides excellent service. The most important thing you need to understand when you buy something from Apache Labs is that you are only buying hardware. The firmware that makes the hardware run, and the software which runs on your...

So we can continue this discussion in the separate sub-forum that exis...

Not when using Diversity. Diversity essentially forms a single, composite receiver. You can look at each one in turn, but not both at the same time when using Diversity.
When not using Diversity you can, of course, see both at the same time, like this:
