If the MOTU is not connected to the rig what does it have do with the sound channels to the rig? Surely the audio it not going out the USB and back in again.... One setup show above shows audio connection to Virtual Audio and the other looks like it's connected to the MOTU. I've never been able to g...

Re: M-Audio 192/4 Air Vs. Motu M2
Couple of questions...
#1 What's the advantage of using one of these? I guess the ASIO drivers might be a bit quicker.
#2 How is it connected to the rig?

It's at 50Hz intervals so I suspect some 50Hz power supply noise -- couldn't be too far away...you'd have to hunt it down with https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/214665/where-are-these-50hz-noises-from You can do some inside-the-house hunting with an AM radio. https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: Changing Voltmeter
You can't compare with voltmeters which are all horribly slow to respond to voltage fluctuations.....
I'm working on a patch to smooth this out...a bit more averaging is needed.

Can anybody explain what the ZZPA actually does or if there is some visual indicator in Thetis that reflects it? This is int Thetis 2.9.0.7 MW0LGE ZZPA0; returns ZZPA8; ZZPA1; returns ZZPA1; ZZPA2; returns ZZPA7; ZZPA3; returns ZZPA8; ZZPA4; returns ZZPA9; ZZPA5; returns ZZPA5; ZZPA6; returns ZZPA6;...

Re: S Meter issue ( old S meter thread is locked )
First thing is you can't compare to the 7300 as it's S meter is almost useless. You'll note that the 7300 meter will change based on your RF gain which an S meter is not supposed to do. But most all rigs (non-SDR) do this. You can't compare from one location to another either. Noise levels can be qu...

Re: Voicemeeter 3.0.2.6 Beta available for download
I used to have problems with audio where I would see fluctuation during transmit due to dropouts or noise -- not sure which.
But...since Windows 11 updated with a new audiodg.exe file I this problem has gone away.

What it sounds like is the difference between Core usage and Logical Processors usage. I've got a 16-core 32-processor system Ryzen 9 5950X and Thetis runs at 2.5% on both Windows Task Manager and ProcessHacker. There are some settings that can affect this.... https://www.nextofwindows.com/windows-1...

The FFT data would be something like 30*1024*2 bytes/sec or around 61,440 bytes/sec. Easily done over a loopback UDP socket.
Waterfall would be the same.

Re: Identifying strange panadapter waveform
And what makes you say it's VAC instability?
Not sure that would explain why resetting audio in Thetis fixes it (other than recreating the audio device to VAC).
VBAudio is used by audio professionals with multiple tracks without any such problems.

I am convinced this is a bug in Thetis. I have the same problem. Toggling the Power button fixes it. 7000DLE MKII here with 2.1.23 firmware Protocol 2 v3.9. Cheap router in the modem. It depends on two factors. Router throughput and whether or not each port is independent (i.e. where on can route from one port to another). If all you have plugged in is your computer and the rig then the throughput is the problem. If you have another device plugged in (l...

Maybe you should reflash the firmware There is a phenomena of high energy particles in the atmosphere corrupting memory chips and I believe also flash memory which may explain why some firmware gets corrupted. Google suffers from this in the their server farm for example. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Re: Thetis 2.9.0.6 lockup on return to receive from transmit
192.169.1.X is not a private network address. Did you mistype that?
What you want to do is this
Change your 2nd ethernet card to:
IP address 10.0.0.1
And put the rig on 10.0.0.2
You can use netmask 255.0.0.0

Re: Thetis 2.9.0.6 lockup on return to receive from transmit
That is a violation of the electrical code. I imagine your computer is plugged into a wall socket and grounded through that, right? So you now have a ground path from your rod outside through your shack and back out the other ground since your computer is also grounded to the rig through the etherne...
