Re: Where to find .pof file for programming with USB Blaster?
Well then nothing is well and truly bricked, ever, unless there is some sort of cryptographic or hardware self-destruct like you might find on a cable box. Nevertheless, "bricked" is the common term for when firmware (or we can also discuss whether it should be called "gateware",...

Re: Where to find .pof file for programming with USB Blaster?
Understood.
So theoretically it could have been a mistake on your part with Bootloader, or it could really have been bricked.
It seems so unlikely that it was bricked. Had you ever successfully used Bootloader previously with this 8000?

Re: Where to find .pof file for programming with USB Blaster?
My card stopped working after a P1 firmware downgrade as the heartbeat stopped in normal mode and it was working in bootloader mode. So I was advised to upload .pof file and I was looking for it. I'm confused. You wrote " heartbeat stopped in normal mode and it was working in bootloader mode&q...

Re: Where to find .pof file for programming with USB Blaster?
So do you still have a problem, Bhanu, or just registering a complaint?
I'm also curious as to why you need the bootloader .pof file? It takes a concerted effort to brick a board.

Re: DDUtil support for PowerSDR and Thetis has ended (but 3.2.6.22 works OK)
Ha! I totally forgot I was living on the bleeding edge with 3.2.7.02 :D I can't recommend using 3.2.7.02 unless you absolutely need a feature it has. Use 3.2.6.22 or even something older. I strongly recommend using Eterlogic VSPE. Failing that, use com0com. I strongly dis-recommend Steve's VSPM. In ...

You can view the image full size by either downloading it or doing the right click open in new tab thing if your browser supports that.
That is the same startup order I use.

Re: DDUtil support for PowerSDR and Thetis has ended (but 3.2.6.22 works OK)
But it Thetis will not talk to DDutil. It works perfectly fine here. Why when I look at your picture posted does DDutil NOT show a radio>? And are you using LEGACY mode? Look at the picture again. And you MUST have DEMO/HPSDR mode checked. Capture4.JPG I will assume you can tell it is connected bec...

Re: DDUtil support for PowerSDR and Thetis has ended (but 3.2.6.22 works OK)
First off, Scott, I do have lots of experience with DDutil. The problem I am having is that SmartSDR is supported BUT PowerSDR of any kind is not by Steve. He even told me so. So Thetis is also not supported. Well, at least to my knowledge. That's just Steve's way of saying "I have no idea if ...

Thetis likes cores, lots and lots of cores. Right now I'm on a dinosaur, an i7-7700k. Someday I wish to own something with 16 cores or more.

There's absolutely nothing special about DisplayPort where app's that run on your PC are concerned. All any app sees is the Windows graphics driver, it has no idea about that hardware is being used. You will be fine.

Re: SO2R TX audio with mixed rigs help
If you are asking "Do Thetis audio processing results appear at the output of the Presonus", the answer is "No". You could potentially hear yourself if you used the MON feature in Thetis, but that's only when you are transmitting in Thetis and it's also got the predistortion on i...

Re: Thick vs Thin Client (Pros and Cons)
Thetis code has been described as a nasty, tangled bowl of spaghetti. I think that is a fair statement as long as you're talking about the Thetis project per se. The WDSP and ChannelMaster projects, on the other hand, are well structured and well documented IMHO. The learning curve is steep, but en...

Nope, that's not going to work. The problem is your mic wiring. Did you read any of the manuals that have been produced for the 7000? Probably not ;) Did you read this topic: https://community.apache-labs.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2573 ? Mic can be on tip or ring. Be sure to select the desired co...

Re: Thick vs Thin Client (Pros and Cons)
In the case of the Flex 6000 Series radios all of the processing takes place in the box. All except the presentation of the data. And that takes place either in a Windows pc, the windows based Maestro or the tablet in the front panel of the M model radios. I suspect most of us are well aware that F...

Re: New Quick Setup Guide for the CFC Audio Tools - 8-18-2017
Torrey--nothing has changed in the audio processing chain since this was written except for a substantially revised and advanced VOX/DEXP section. It was all carried over directly into Thetis. So you should be able to use the above information to good effect.

Re: DDUtil support for PowerSDR and Thetis has ended (but 3.2.6.22 works OK)
That old Yahoo groups link is unimportant. It was just Steve announcing he was ending support for legacy radios and was only going to support Flex SmartSDR moving forward. Because DDUtil V3 is no longer supported Steve's support pages for it appear to be in disarray. For example: https://k5fr.com/DD...

Re: Thick vs Thin Client (Pros and Cons)
Scott, I was under the impression ( perhaps mistakenly) that all of the DSP functions in Thetis and OpenHPSDR took place in the code running in the pc. Yes, currently that is the thick client architecture that exists for openHPSDR radios. Are you suggesting that the DSP code in Thetis could be move...

Re: Thick vs Thin Client (Pros and Cons)
James,
There's no reason that everything we know and love about openHPSDR software (Thetis, etc.) can't be replicated in an open source, thin client architecture. All that is necessary (not that it is any kind of small thing!) are the developers who decide they want to do it.

Scott

Re: Thick vs Thin Client (Pros and Cons)
First off, ANY hardware can support thick or thin client operation. From a purely hardware standpoint merely add a dedicated server to whatever you've got, from a bare Hermes board to an ANAN-7000. It's merely a matter of convenience that some hardware has a computer built-in to potentially act as a...

Are there any other external PTT switches involved? Please be precise in your descriptions. If you can attached datasheets or wiring diagrams tha...
