Re: IQ File Playback: Panadapter Doesn't Move When Tuning

Hi Kevin, I have not played around with this feature at all so I am hesitant to say that it is working as it's intended to. I believe that I am seeing exactly the same behavior you are describing and it does seem to be broken: Tuning does not track in the panadapter with CTUN disabled. When CTUN is ...

Re: IQ File Playback: Panadapter Doesn't Move When Tuning

Hi Kevin, I have found that it does not work for me unless I enable the CTUN button (underneath the AVG and PEAK buttons in the GUI). When CTUN is enabled I can tune around in the panadapter normally while playing back an I/Q recording. I'm not sure if the way I do this is normal behavior for OpenHP...

Re: Should I or not

Hi Tommy, As a long time user of a Flex 5000 I have to say that I had tons of fun with mine. That being said, it would be unfair to compare the Flex 5000 with any of the ANAN rigs because they are in very different classes. The direct sampling ANAN rigs with the enhanced CFC Audio Tools and adaptive...

Re: PSDR mRX General use questions...

Gary, Another thing to consider is that PowerSDR.exe (OpenHPSDR mRX PS) should be run with administrative privileges as the database.xml file is stored in the "Users" hierarchy of folders and Windows is very fussy about non-admin level programs writing data to that area. Without an adminis...

Re: Apache Labs Announces the ANAN-7000DLE

Volker, My ANAN-200D, which is less than 6 months old, has far greater air flow through the case than my ANAN-100, which was purchased direct from India back in 2014. I think Apache Labs took to heart the concerns expressed by users regarding heat and opened up the bottom fan port (no more drilled o...

Resolving the missing CPU Utilization counter in the OpenHPSDR mRX PS GUI

In most cases, this problem is easily resolved by bringing up the Windows command prompt and typing in the following command: lodctr /R ...and then you press ENTER and Windows magically repairs itself. If all is well, Windows reconstructs a couple of data files in the Windows/System32 folder and you...

Your directions are spot on Scott and I always have that page in front of me whenever I flash to a new firmware or move from Protocol 1 to Protocol 2 (and then back to Protocol 1) when I am playing around with different software. The only item I can think of that you might want to add is how to deal...

Re: New Quick Setup Guide for the CFC Audio Tools - 8-18-2017

Great suggestions Scott! I absolutely agree that a Leveler setting higher than the default "5" will produce a more optimal result with the CFC. It adds some soft limiting at the front end and makes the CFC much more responsive. I'm glad you mentioned that as the video did not hit that poin...

New Quick Setup Guide for the CFC Audio Tools - 8-18-2017

This video covers all the steps for setting up the transmit audio in OpenHPSDR mRX PS. It addresses everything the first video covered and also includes using the CFC meter, the CFC Comp meter, and the adjustment of the ALC Max Gain setting with COMP and CESSB. These items were not present in the fi...

Re: ALS 600 AND ANAN 100D

Hi Mark, As Joe mentioned it is not uncommon to have the open frame relay hang up a bit and cause a long transition back to receive. My ALS-600 used to do it all too frequently. I found that the pivot arm of mine had "walked" to the edge of the pivot points which caused it to hang momentar...

Re: External Audio Rack or 10 Dollar Dynamic Microphone

Scott, Yes indeed, as far as the best bang for your buck the XM8500 is really hard to beat. I never measured it but I think the condenser mics have quite a bit more gain than the dynamics but it would be interesting to level the playing field a bit and run the MXL-770 right into the front panel of t...

Re: External Audio Rack or 10 Dollar Dynamic Microphone

I agree with much of what you have said Scott. I would add to the sensitivity aspect that the SPL spec on the microphone is also extremely important. After a lot of attempts to get that 10 dollar Pyle PDMIC78 Chinese clone to match the external audio rack it was the SPL that was the insurmountable p...

I had really good luck with the inline ATO fuse holders sold by Parts Express. This one is the same ATO inline style but much more solidly built than the stock fuse holders. Yeah, I saw that it has that capability! I like the software and as you can see from my very first video it does a very nice job at 1920x1080. Re: Orion 5.0 firmware released (current protocol/Protocol 1)

The video shows the ANAN-200D running 7 receivers with CuSDR-64bit v0.3.3.0 by Hermann - DL3HVH. Note that the "chugging" you see in the video is the screen capture software choking on the 1820x1024 resolution of this video. The actual display is very smooth. 2 receivers are on the AM BCB,...

Re: Orion 5.0 firmware released (current protocol/Protocol 1)

It looks like Joe's efforts to implement all 7 receivers with the Orion version 5.0 firmware were very successful. No problems running 7 receivers with CuSDR 64-Bit v0.3.3.0 driving my ANAN-200D. The network utilization was not a problem as it only reached 81% with all 7 receivers running. Note that...

Apache Labs Announces the ANAN-7000DLE

Looks like the developers will need to add a new rig to the Hardware Config page in OpenHPSDR mRX PS. The ANAN-7000DLE looks like the big brother of the earlier 100 watt rigs with an introductory price of $2995.00. The spec sheet indicates it uses the Orion MK-II board and my guess is that it's pack...

It doesn't look like there were a lot of visible changes but it does run beautifully and is a treat to look at. I made a brief video of some of the menu form...
