Re: Unstable, wide, nasty spur

Scott, interesting to hear that you don't have a problem with your 8000. Do you happen to know what iteration of 8000 board you have? There were several produced, it seems. Doug and I determined my board is version 3.2. According to Doug, there was 2.5, 3.2, and 5.0 version board. I believe the vers...

Re: Unstable, wide, nasty spur

Hi Gary, Yes, I see both of them at the same frequency and those and the gnarly one are the only ones I see in that bandwidth. Interestingly, these smaller width spurs do not change frequency as the radio warms up. The Gnarly one does change frequency. It goes from 2.004mhz to 2.023mhz after warm-up...

Re: Unstable, wide, nasty spur

I use an 8000 board and I have exactly the same spurs you show; the large gnarly one is at 2.0 mhz on my 8000 and the two smaller ones are exactly where yours are so if there is something defective with your 7000 it is also defective with my 8000.

Re: Using VAC button in Power SDR

Hi Larry,

I've never used MicroSoft Sound Mapper but I just opened Audio-Vac1 and set the Driver to MME and then looked at both the input and output and see the "Microsoft Sound Mapper" option for both. Don't know why you wouldn't see it too. I'm using PowerSDR version 3.4.9.

Re: LatencyMon Benchmarks

Hi Gary, As you can see in my picture, cores 5, 6, & 7 are obviously not following cores 0 thru 4 and are running at a lower cpu rate so the Affinity change worked for me. If you only moved the programs you wanted to core 6 and did not prohibit other programs from using Core 6 then that may be w...

Re: LatencyMon Benchmarks

Hi Gary, I thought I would update you on my fooling around with Affinity today. I decided to play with it to see what I could discover. I assigned PowerSDR.exe to cores 5,6, & 7. I assigned all the firefox instances, JTDX, and JTAlert to cores 0 thru 4 as these were the major users of CPU cycles...

Re: LatencyMon Benchmarks

Hi Gary, I supplied the info for all the modes the radio operates but certainly digital is your focus so I would try setting that to 128 buffers on the filter page, if it is at 64 and see if that makes any difference. I also run digital modes at 48K rather than 192K where I run all other modes. This...

Re: LatencyMon Benchmarks

Gary, I've recently been able to reduce my settings to the absolute minimum with rock solid performance. My Ring Buffers are 512, 512. I am running with Primary audio setting at 64 and VAC at 128. I have Buffer Latency at zero. I run HOURS with no uptick in overflows/underflows or OOOPs now. I typic...

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX

Hi Conrad,

It happens with the 8000. That is the board I use. Perhaps it is more difficult to hear on HF due to the higher noise thresholds.

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX

Hi Conrad, I did your noise test and what I hear is the background noise (this was on 6m) is quite uniform with Fixed AGC. If I switch to Med or Fast and adjust the AGC to the top of the noise, the background noise sounds "choppy" is the best way I can describe it. Interesting. Why is this...

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX

Hi Gary, I'll have to check that again to make sure I saw what i think I saw. I know there are instances where there are transmitters that are just not adjusted properly putting out all kinds of garbage. We have one local that sprays crap all over the 2.7khz range on 6m so I know not all "smear...

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX

Tony, I'm glad you asked this as I was about to myself once I exhausted searches for the answer. I use JTDX and I run my AF gain at 5, my VAC RX gain is at -30, and I vary the AGC gain from about -95 to -120 depending on signal strengths present at the time. I have the AGC in Fixed mode. I'm speakin...

Currently showing 6000+ can ship immediately.

Same part number as original except the 4th letter being a G rather than a C. Unless I've missed something, I see very little difference in the two items.

Behringer UMC Audio Control Panel Buffer Settings

Hi Scott, Thanks for the info. I turned it to zero a few hours ago and watched the ooops counter and it has stayed at zero so I guess currently, I don't have an issue that it can correct for. However, since the penalty for running it at 4 is so little, I guess it makes sense to just leave it on. 73,...

Wow, how nice is this resampler? This makes it soooo easy to tune everything for best latency. In 10 minutes or so I had everything humming along with nothing but zeros showing up with the resampler monitors. I do have 1 or 2 ooops popping up right now as I run FT8 on 60m. I'll have to look at the e...

Re: Voicemeeter Potato is coming! <--not a joke!

Hi Scott,

Not being an expert in this area, does this mean we will be able to attach VAC2 to the second channel and use the UMC ASIO driver for VAC2 along with VAC1? That would be nice as that should get rid of the delay problem having to use Windows drivers for VAC2.

For grins, I reset the database again and it was back to -5db with tune before using two tone.

Hi Scott, Sorry, should have included that with the other info. Obviously barefoot at that power level and using the Xtronic XDC-1 coupler with an extra 6db attenuator giving me, I think, 50db of attenuation. With 40 watts at 46dbm, I should read -4 with this setup. I am very close to that after the...
