Re: Voicemeeter Potato (VMP) is here!

Scott you mentioned on the mail list that potato drivers are better than banana , I wonder in what way are they better ? I'd appreciate if you could share your observations please.

Re: Unkey Blowouts

Blowouts are now not showing for me .I'm speculating but I think this may be a result of the change I've made to HPET referred to on the mailing list as it has made a definite improvement to my VAC dropout rate.

Yeah not really sure why it would degrade, perhaps some other variable in play . I'll try again when I get around to upgrading to P2

Re: Tuning Windows 10 for Protocol-2

Could not see any noticeable change on protocol 1, but strangely when I reverted to original windows settings by deleting both reg entries I've had just one overflow in 3 hours and zero oops.

Re: Has anyone tried protocol 2 on Anan 100 hermes?

Rob, thanks for the info. If it runs ok on 384 I'd be pretty happy. I will probably give it a try soon if my 100 is not sold in the meantime , hoping to upgrade to the 7000. Once it gets close to 6M E's season I dare not change anything :-)

Re: Angelia networking weirdness - using Ethernet broadcast address

Hi Mike, did you ship it to Doug in the US for the repair or was it done in the UK ? Just wondering in case I ever have an issue that needs servicing.

They are indeed responsive Scott thanks for the suggestion . I'll stay with banana for now , I'm sure if its a ryzen issue someone else that needs potato will let them know.

Re: Help with new PC build

I use JTDX here as well as WSJTX and i see no difference in CPU load between them. JTDX does have some options such as FT8 threads etc, maybe thats the issue ?

Re: Voicemeeter Potato (VMP) is here!

My Ryzen based PC does not seem to like potato at all ( a bit Ironic since I'm Irish) . Computer froze and even blue screened at one point. Back to voicemeeter banana for this cowboy for now.

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has tried protocol 2 firmware on the Anan 100 and if so have your encountered any show stopping issues ?

Re: New Protocol Update

768 would suit me just fine if that's possible. If memory serves the previous speed limited firmware could only run to 384 .

Edit: I should clarify I'm referring to previous new protocol speed limited firmware for hermes

Re: New Protocol Update

I agree, it would be a way forward if it was made an option and anyone who chooses can change to Thetis. . Only downside for me personally would be no stitched receivers .Was there not a previous version of firmware for the hermes that had speed limited to 100mbps?

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX

Scott I have the very latest "bleeding edge" JTDX and it does not have full automation so far. Given the amount of bad local TX's I would hate it if it did :-)

Re: RX1 AF level with WSJTX

Thanks for the responses guys. Using voicemeeter banana here so have the VAC Rx gain at Zero , RX AF at 100 and I then back off the fixed AGC so I get just above 30db on JTDX receive level indicator on 6m when no signal present . Just guesswork on my part to be honest as if memory serves I previousl...

Just curious as to what guys generally set the level of RX1 AF to when using WSJT X for best signal to noise ratio on receive ?
