Re: ANAN100 PS Query

The algorithm has improved since the advent of "PureSignal 2.0". Not sure if your prior involvement predates the incorporation of the automatic step attenuator functionality or not, but if it does you no longer have to manually set the step attenuator on TX, the algorithm does it for you. ...

Erik, I split this topic off from the tutorial topic because it's not directly related to the tutorial and could turn into a lengthy problem-solving type topic specific to your situation. The first suggestion is to upgrade to Thetis 2.6.9, the current release and available from the official TAPR ope...

Has it always worked this way, or is this one of Richie's innovations?

Re: Newbie questions re: Thetis RX1, RX2, Multi, scale

1. Is it possible to Zoom the vertical scale on the panadapter? I understand one can drag it up and down, but this doesn't zoom the scale. Would like to change it from e.g. -60 to -120 to -80 to -120. You can do this, but you can't do it from the main console. You have to go into Setup > Display > ...

Re: Resampler Adjustment

I'm sorry, Chris, but that doesn't match the behavior of WSJT-X here. In frequency calibration mode the controls and displays look like those shown in my screen shots. Your controls and display look like those when you are in FT8 mode. Something's not right...

Re: Resampler Adjustment

Chris, How are you getting it to make any measurements in FT8 mode? I have to be in Freq Cal mode to get it work. What happens when you put WSJT-X in Freq Cal mode and select DIGU on the radio? I just did another test with 2.2.0RC1. No difference. It was a bit better, but I think that's because the ...

Re: AM stereo?

To be honest, I was surprised and disappointed when I instantly noticed this effect with the Anan 7000. It's important to note that the signal processing in question in all openHPSDR versions of PowerSDR has been the same since before the original Hermes board, so this is not something that is pecu...

Re: WSJT-X FT8 signal images

If you are talking about that tiny spur within 100Hz of the signal that is not an "image". That is a close-in spur. Given that it is -38dBc, it is probably an intermodulation product ("intermod") that is part of the transmitted signal. Intermod's from the average, un-linearized, ...

Re: Resampler Adjustment

Not seeing this problem here. Running Thetis 2.7.0 (a3). I used WWV on 10MHz around 1030 local time in DIGU mode as the calibration signal. Resampler on or off, I saw some wobbulation (I love that term :D ) on the order of +/- 0.2Hz, and during any 15 second epoch (commensurate with FT8 transmission...

Yes, please post a screenshot, and please make sure it shows the entire PowerSDR window so that all your settings are visible.

DIG IN 1 is an input. The current software uses it as a TX inhibit signal, as already mentioned above.

Re: Noise blanker/reduction settings?

Kerry, NB and NB2 are “wideband blankers” and operate on the IF passband (the entire bandwidth of your spectral display). So those two functions will have a visible effect on the spectral display. NR, NR2 operate on the receiver passband and the results are not visible on the spectral display. SNB o...

Is there any future intention to keep developing the ANAN200D P2 firmware? It feels like its being let go and only developed on the MK2 series ANAN's? That's kind of an unfair statement on several levels. First, you might notice that there has been no further development for some time on the Orion ...

Helmut, Have you considered using Voicemeeter Potato (VMP) instead of Muzy VAC? VMP is free. Both app's can be installed simultaneously without interfering with each other. VMP acts as a virtual mixing console. You have full control over levels with full audio level metering. There is a separate VMP...

Re: New 7000/8000 Orion MKII Protocol 2 Firmware Topic

The various networking problems people often have with Bootloader are because the firmware boots up with an illegal MAC address of 11:22:33:44:55:66 in Bootloader mode. This is hard coded in both the Bootloader firmware and HPSDR Bootloader software application. MOST, but not ALL, dumb switches will...

Disclaimer: I do not have an SPE amplifier. You do not connect the SPE to the Apache hardware for CAT for band switching. You connect it to a PC serial port for PC CAT control as per the SPE manual. While this may seem strange to some, remember that the Apache box by itself is not a radio! Or at mos...

Actually, the MON level is controlled by the Master AF slider when the unit is in a TX state. This may not be your preferred embodi...

Ken, Your post isn't making sense to me. WSJT-X does not support ASIO. Therefore it cannot "see" any ASIO drivers. Are you saying that when you select ASIO as the driver in Thetis there are no devices available to assign? Finally, and I'm not sure this is relevant, but when you install any...
