Re: Resampler Adjustment

Helmut,

When force is off, are you getting under or overflow counts in a steady stream on the resampler?

Seq Errors Explained

"Seq" errors are shown when a packets are missing from the UDP packet stream coming FROM the hardware TO the PC. Packets associated with each DDC stream and mic stream are given sequential packet numbers, hence the "Seq" designation. Different Seq error codes are assigned to each...

Re: Warning for 7000DLE MKII owners

Doug,

If you have already successfully updated firmware then there is nothing to worry about.

I'm not aware of a procedure to take the bottom off. I have an 8000 here so I'm no help on that part of it ;)

Re: Resampler Adjustment

It remains a mystery why so many people are having such trouble. There is clearly something we all don't understand about how buffers should be set. Most serious audio software adjusts buffering in a completely automatic way with no significant latency. Any DAW application is a good example of this....

Warning for 7000DLE MKII owners

If your radio is missing a jumper because it was not properly installed at the factory it is possible that programming firmware can brick your radio. There is a solution. See https://apache-labs.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3081

Warning for 7000DLE MKII owners

Introduction As of the date of this post there have been at least two unfortunate "bricking" incidents when programming new firmware onto 7000DLE MKII units. Bricking is a slang term for a situation where both the normal and Bootloader FPGA images in non-volatile memory are corrupt and no...

Other than your RX2 issue, which may be Thetis related, how is 2.0 working for you?

Re: 7000 and 8000 Protocol 2 users: what say you?

So far, so good, Rick. Running the 8K with Thetis 2.6.7 at 768KHz. No Seq's, solid PS, RX2 and diversity. Essentially zero TX time, though. More to follow as I get some TX time on it.

Thanks!

Orion MKII Protocol 1 Firmware Version 2.7 Released

Posting this for Joe, K5SO (k5so@k5so.com) ### All, I have reworked the timing on protocol 1 firmware for the 7000DLE/7000DLE MkII/8000DLE. This Orion_MkII_v2.7_K5SO_5-4 version works for the testers who have kindly tested it for me and it works fine here on 7000DLE and 8000DLE platforms. This vers...

Resampler Adjustment

PowerSDR mRX 3.4.8 introduced an Adaptive Variable Resampler option for VAC audio. The implementation is a true resampler and not just a data "smoother". Since both the radio and the PC use different clocks to obtain their nominal 48KHz audio sampling rate, the rate in the radio will not e...

P2 version 10.3 released for 14-bit Hermes (10E and 100B)

Phil has succeeded in updating the P2 firmware for the small FPGA on the 14-bit Hermes design (used in the ANAN-10E and ANAN-100B). This is quite remarkable as the FPGA is at 99% utilization, a very, very difficult state of affairs to manage! https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Firmware/tree/master/Pr...

That's correct. It is a 5V unipolar square wave. The standard impedance of a word clock input is 75 ohms.

Re: Presonus Studio 192 Mobile

Paul, As you might know, I have the Studio 192 Mobile. The drivers have been very stable, and the USB 3.0 interface provides extremely low latency. I can run the unit at its lowest buffer setting and 96KHz on my i7-7700k based system. The only downside to the unit is the rather complex mixer interfa...

Re: JTDX level and ALC

Tony, They should, but I don't use JTDX and don't know how that software was written. One thing that can throw levels off by 3dB is if the the digi app actually puts out a stereo signal and the left and right channels get summed somewhere in the process. On every other digi mode app that I've tried ...

Re: JTDX level and ALC

Remember that the ALC metering in PowerSDR and Thetis is a bit bizarre. The ALC meter will only show indications up to 0dB. If ALC is being driven above 0dB you can only see that by monitoring the ALC COMP meter.

Buck, Pin 10 is what you want for Line Out. Both receivers will have audio on that pin in accordance with the main console Master AF, RX AF, and pan controls. However, I would strongly recommend you master the intricacies of VAC audio rather than take perfectly good digital audio and turn it into an...

Re: ADC Overload! with Thetis v2.6.6

Manny, The 14-bit Hermes firmware is over 2 years old and is not keeping pace with firmware development for the other platforms because it is proving difficult to fit the P2 firmware into the small FPGA used on the 14-bit Hermes board. Similarly, it is not keeping pace with Thetis, either, because T...

I have not seen this, Carl. When I have a firmware related crash like that I will normally see a highly elevated noise floor. But what you describe might be firmware or software.

Re: Setup Help

Now you need to set up virtual serial port software to make a CAT connection between PowerSDR and DM780. There are three choices: com0com, VSPM and Eterlogic VSPE. There is plenty of YouTube on how to do this.

VMP is your virtual cable. No connections need be made to the sound card (but you may do so if you wish). Assign PowerSDR to one of the virtual channels in VMP, say "VAIO". Assign your digi mode app to another virtual channel in VMP, say "Aux VIAO" (the names will change a little...
