Re: Orion (200D) and Orion MKII (7000 & 8000) users: P2 v1.4 released

Rafael, I recommend you go all the way back to P1 and PowerSDR. Get everything working again. This way you can ensure that nothing on the PC has been screwed up, that all of your other software is working properly and that all of your radio hardware is working properly. Once you've re-baselined in t...

Re: Orion (200D) and Orion MKII (7000 & 8000) users: P2 v1.4 released

Gents: when powering stuff down seems like the only solution, I think that you will find that power cycling the radio is all you need to do. That is the only way to reboot the firmware. I'd be willing to bet the following sequence will work: 1. Stop Thetis with the "power button" (really t...

Re: Introducing the ANAN-7000DLE MKII

Carl, Only the 8000 uses that method. Since the Revision 24 PA/RF board in the 100D and 200D, those radios, and the 7000 series, use the Bypass connector as the input from an external coupler. This is enabled by going into Setup > Ant/Filters > Antenna and turning on the RX Bypass on TX option. 73, ...

Re: PA Calibration

Adam, There have, sadly, been reports over the years of various Apache radio models unable to make rated power on 10M and 6M. This goes back to the first 100W model. You have, quite correctly, looked at the voltage and current, as many people have found the problem being a bad fuse, bad power cable,...

Re: Introducing the ANAN-7000DLE MKII

will remote control of the 7000DLE MKII, with the onboard computer, be easier and/or have less bandwidth over the internet when remotely operating the unit? The unit appears to be simply the radio hardware and a PC in the same box. Based on the photos both subsystems look to be completely federated...

Re: ANAN 7000DLE - No Com ports available in Thetis for CAT

VMB and VSPE are the way to go. The very nominal cost of the VSPE license is more than made up for in the stability and the flexibility of the product. You should make careful note of the successor to VMB, which is Voicemeeter Potato (VMP :D ) I'm waiting for the final release before migrating to VM...

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Dumb question, Dave: is the NIC in your PC capable of Gigabit speed? With P2 loaded the radio Ethernet runs only at that speed. Do you get good link lights? Do the traffic lights flash? Does Windows report a GigE connection?

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Dave,

Obviously the PC can talk to the radio or you wouldn't be able to program it.

Are you using bootloader or programmer?

Have you tried the latest version from Rick?

You are using Thetis with Protocol 2 firmware, correct?

Re: FM on the local 145mhz QRG but whit "tiny" voice

That doesn't seem correct. You should be providing sufficient audio gain well prior to the VAC interface such that the Mic Level in PowerSDR is hitting between 0 and -6dB with VAC TX Gain set to 0dB. 40dB is a ridiculous amount!

Re: ANAN 7000DLE - No Com ports available in Thetis for CAT

Bob, First and foremost, VAC and VMB have NOTHING to do with serial data, only audio data. If your audio is moving OK then you are good to go with whatever you are doing, audio-wise. Second, it would appear that you are not properly configuring whatever virtual serial port software you are using, co...

Re: No TX audio in AM mode.

If your drive is 8 or 10W then 2W carrier is normal. Is that correct? You might check in Setup > Transmit and see if for some reason line in is selected instead of mic when in AM. Or see if VAC is selected instead of mic. Or see if anything else in the audio processing chain (there are a LOT of sett...

You are not providing nearly enough information to debug your problem. Did AM mode ever work for you? Or is this the first time you've tried it? Does the radio go into transmit mode? Do you at least get a carrier? If so, what power level are you set to, and what is the power level of the carrier? Wh...

Ben,

I don't know anything about transverter operations, or FM operations, with PowerSDR. However, it might be as simple as changing your transmit passband settings to be wider in Setup > Transmit.

Sounds like we need to get the client dev's involved.

When PowerSDR won't start or exhibits bizarre behavior (database reset/removal)

All data, and the entire state of PowerSDR, is stored in a series of files. See "Where are my settings stored and how can I back them up?" A corrupted database file can cause PowerSDR to not start, or to exhibit really bizarre behavior. The design of the database code in PowerSDR predates ...
