Re: GPSDO Tutorial?

Rob, On the Orion MKII based hardware, I believe the 122.8MHz oscillator is a Crystek CVHD-950 (click the hot links in this post for the datasheets), with the following advertised phase noise performance: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1878/42575220710_88ac6fe23e_c.jpg The on-board 10MHz TCXO I beli...

Re: Antenna mute

I just tried transmitting on ANT2 and receiving on ANT1 using WSJT-X instances. I still got decodes from ANT1 during the transmit so ANT1 did NOT disconnect. Mike, I am skeptical that ANT1 did not disconnect. If so, if both the ANT1 and ANT2 relays were connected during TX, surely you would have da...

Re: Antenna mute

Damn! Over +30dBm? :o That's a ton! You definitely don't want to let that impinge on anything on the Hermes board. However, assuming the switching on your PA/RF board doesn't fail in some horrible way, you would probably be OK to set it up for TX on ANT1 and RX on ANT2, and the Pixel is on ANT2. Dur...

Re: thetis install instructions

I have no idea what you did or why you did it.

Download the latest release of Thetis installer.

https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/releases

Run the installer. Run Thetis. Done (assuming the firmware works OK on your radio, which it might not).

Re: PowerSDR won't start

Uninstall does not delete old databases. If you have a database that is so corrupt things won't start then it needs to be deleted manually. That is what the link does for you. Unfortunately, PowerSDR code is not fully stable and fatal database corruption is possible, even frequent. Backup your datab...

Re: Anan 10e, k19 mod yes or no?

So is the xtronics sampler useless for the anan 10 and 10E? Not at all! In fact it is probably the best high power, HF coupler available (it's a true coupler, not a "sampler"). It has a nearly ruler flat coupling gain from 160M to 10M, and will work for 6M. And you need a coupler of some ...

Re: Need help with Voicemeeter Banana

Dan, First and most important: use the VB Audio control panels (on the Start menu in the VB Audio folder), both of them, to set sample rates. This will require a restart of the computer. After this the Windows Sound Control Panel should show 48KHz for these devices. Select two channel if necessary a...

Re: RS232 INTERFACE/ CIRRO MAZZONI BABY LOOP

You are not posting enough information to know, Mark. Do you have a link to an English language user manual for the RS232 interface? The only thing that can be said for certain right now is that if the unit can communicate with a Kenwood CAT RS232 interface it will probably work. You would connect i...

I monitor their forum, and when the released the new BIOS with the upgraded microcode to address the bug people reported a substantial drop in SSD performance. I did not upgrade and accepted the security risk i...

Re: Anan 10e, k19 mod yes or no?

I don't think very many people have modified their 10 or 10E for PureSignal. You may just have to try it and see. Modifying K19 certainly looks like a very straightforward way of solving the problem, though. I would not think there would be excessive crosstalk in a 10W radio.

Re: thetis install instructions

Thetis itself installs and runs exactly the same as PowerSDR mRX PS. It is available from the same repository: https://github.com/TAPR The entire point of Thetis is to be able to run Protocol 2 firmware, which is explained here: https://apache-labs.com/community/viewforum.php?f=32 Before running The...

Re: LatencyMon Benchmarks

I have seen similar changes in the Passmark ratings of my PC. It has never been as fast as the first week I had it running. It would seem that as Windows gets clogged up with the detritus of normal, daily operations, the system does tend to slow a bit. However my changes are not nearly so dramatic a...

Re: Thetis 2.6.0- Diversity

What might actually be the case is that you were using PowerSDR incorrectly. "Diversity" cannot lower the atmospheric noise level. When mis-configured it is possible to think this is what you are seeing, but if you look at things carefully you will also see levels drop on real signals as w...

Re: HOT TX on WSJT-x

:)

Thetis does not have the ability to adjust the waterfall dynamic range in TX like PowerSDR does...yet. So what you are seeing is just an artifact of the display in Thetis and is not indicative of bad signal quality during transmit.
