Re: Step attenuator linearity

Paul, I chose the 1KW test condition based on your original post to the old Yahoo group, as well as the labeling of your posted figures, not what you posted on your QRZ page. Sadly the Yahoo group archives are gone so I can't go back and verify my reading comprehension ;) I would greatly appreciate ...

Re: Resampler Adjustment

Scott, I've read that post before. 1) The post is specifically about PowerSDR, not Thetis. I had hoped you could make the leap between the two programs, but apparently not. The resampler is the same in both programs and performs the same functions for the same reasons, which are (quoted from the li...

Re: Resampler Adjustment

Just a minor point of clarification: it is the "variable resampler" not the "rational resampler". This capability was first released in PowerSDR 3.4.8: https://apache-labs.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2763&p=5184&hilit=variable+resampler#p5184 In contrast to Gary...

Re: Noise Bump on 60M Ch 2

That is almost certainly some noise from the internal switching power supply. On my 8000 I see exactly that down around 5310KHz. While it's unfortunate that in your particular case the noise is impinging on one of the 60M channels, the good news is that it is most likely below the noise floor with a...

How can you determine that? [/quote]The spec's on the Motu say "USB-C (compatible with USB Type A) 2.0 audio class compliant". That is marketing-speak for "We put a USB C connector on it but it's really only running USB 2.0." There are a growing number of sound interfaces with U...

Tony,

Sounds like those drivers are top notch. This is particularly noteworthy because that interface is really only a USB 2.1 interface regardless of the connector type.

Re: Pure signal fixed attenuator

Don, This topic is what you need to read: https://apache-labs.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2384 However, the TLDR version is, assuming you are only running the 100W, then that's 50dBm out, less the 44dB coupling factor, so +6dBm peak out of the coupler. That's well below the safety limit o...

Re: Wave File Options Menu Missing

Ah ha! MIssed that, sorry. I'm noticing that both the top and bottom of Ron's windows is cut off. Perhaps it is a Windows display scaling problem? What do you have the Scale set at in the Windows Display control panel? Mine is set to 150% and it is working fine. Alternatively, try maximizing the Wav...

Ron, Maybe you could better describe, or post a screen shot (use the "Attachments" tab below the text window when making a new post) of what you are looking for? Because when you click on the "Wave" menu in both PowerSDR and Thetis you get the exact same thing, which looks like t...

Re: How to skip Auto Discover Routine ?

I'm not a user of piHPSDR, but from the little bit I experimented with it I don't think this can be skipped.

The source code is available and it is fairly easy to build. It might not be too tough to modify it.

Perhaps someone else might chime in with a better answer?

Abhi, So this looks to use the Orion MKII as is, not a new board, correct? Also, it would appear that while the Orion MKII SMA connectors are now directly accessible, you must also be using the parallel micro-coax connectors internally to connect to the RF board, is that correct? Are there any recei...

Re: No audio in SAM or AM mode

Sounds like you may need to reset your database. Save/export the old one in case you want to go back, reset it, and see if that fixes the problem. Because there really isn't any setting that would cause AM and SAM to stop working while the other modes continue to work.

Windows updates are famous for breaking sound drivers. Uninstall VAC. Reboot. Reinstall VAC. Reboot. Set up VAC again. 1. Is it possible to Zoom the vertical scale on the panadapter? I understand one can drag it up and down, but this doesn't zoom the scale. Would like to change it from e.g. -60 to -120 to -80 to -120. You can do this, but you can't do it from the main console. You have to go into Setup > Display > ...

If you are talking about that tiny spur within 100Hz of the signal that is not an "image". That is a close-in spur. Given that it is -38dBc, it is probably an intermodulation product ("intermod") that is part of the transmitted signal. Intermod's from the average, un-linearized, ...
