Re: Lower lever for a usable computer.

Hi Larry, First, to clarify, the computing requirements are nearly identical regardless of whether you have an ANAN-10E or an ANAN-8000DLE, as they both utilize the same thick client software, PowerSDR mRX. So what you are really asking is how much computer do you need to run PowerSDR mRX. The short...

Re: VAC Fails after Win 10 Creators Upgrade

Sounds very typical (pun intended :D ) VMB is just another sound driver, and just as subject to the vagaries of Windows updates as any other sound driver. I fully expect to have to reinstall both Behringer drivers and VMB based on what everyone is reporting in this thread, just like I did when the A...

Re: Way to limit AF?

I just had an idea for you, Buck: since you are already using VAC, why not use a DAW (digital audio workstation) application of some sort to implement a compressor/limiter on receive? We always think of doing this for transmit audio, but why not do it for receive, also? You could use the free evalua...

Re: Way to limit AF?

Buck, The use of VAC is no different than the use of the built-in radio sound output in this case, or in any case, really. The multiplicity of volume controls (RX1 AF, Master AF, VAC RX AF, the volume knob on the Behringer, etc.) might make you think that you can get something for nothing, but ultim...

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance

Larry, I'd be interested to know what the CPUMark was for the Ryzen? Also, to Simon's point, back when I first got my Flex 3000, my Nvidia GPU caused horrible problems with system audio performance. Reading the Flex forum at the time, it seemed people were having good luck with AMD GPUs, so I switch...

It killed my Voicemeeter Banana drivers AND my Behringer UMC202 drivers during the Anniversary Update. No problems here since then, t...

Understanding why panadapter noise floor & S-meter are different, why the atten. makes no difference, and S-meter cal.

Summary: the panadapter noise floor will NOT match the S-meter reading of noise power and there are good mathematical reasons for this. The levels shown in the S-meter represent the total power in the selected RX passband, either in S-units, dBm, or both, depending on the style S-meter selected. Th...

Re: Serial port for logging and amp control

Larry, Be advised that the SPE amp has two interfaces that are of interest to you: the USB interface (really just a USB serial port), and the actual DB style serial port. I don't have an SPE amp, but if I remember correctly you use the DB style serial port for CAT control, and the USB connection is ...

Re: FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

Scott, MIDI and CAT commands to PowerSDR will never directly cause focus to shift. When the Grab Focus thing is active in N1MM+, using the MIDI controller to change frequency in PSDR is detected by N1MM+ which, in turn, causes focus to shift if Grab Focus is active. That's very interesting, Chris. ...

Re: Serial port for logging and amp control

Larry, Unless you need some specific feature of DDUtil, you do not need it to interface PowerSDR mRX to any logger or amp. PowerSDR mRX is capable of connecting to up to 4 serial ports, virtual or real, simultaneously (Setup > CAT Control > CAT and CAT+). For your logger, assuming it is running on t...

Re: FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

A few observations: 1. MIDI and CAT commands to PowerSDR will never cause focus to shift. So you can bang on your MIDI controller all day long and it should not cause focus to shift between programs on the PC. 2. The "Grab Focus" feature in N1MM did not exist when the Focusmaster feature w...

The Focusmaster feature first appeared in PowerSDR 3.2.26 in May, 2015. The original instructions for using it are as follows: You will now find the FocusMaster feature on the Setup/CAT Control/CAT tab. This feature is aimed primarily at contest operation and automatically restores Windows "foc...

Here are the differences: On the Rev. 15 and 16 boards the RX output could be sent out the ...

I also prefer stability over performance (so don't ask me why I use openHPSDR firmware and software ;) )

So far the machine has been a rock at 5GHz under the conditions that I use it. Very speedy! If it were not, I would not use it this way.

Re: Receive Stutter

Geoff, If you are running PowerSDR 3.4.1 then you are running Protocol 1, which only runs at speeds less than 100MBit/s. So the lack of a GigE interface should make no difference. Also, it seems very unlikely that an new i7 motherboard does not have a GigE NIC on it. What make/model motherboard is i...

Re: HPSDR locking on as N1MM+ starts

Geoff,

If the problem started with N1MM 1.0.5327 then it sounds like an N1MM problem and not a PowerSDR or VSPM problem. It would seem that N1MM is sending a CAT TX command immediately on startup. Have you contacted the authors of N1MM?

Hi Luis,

It is " just a matter of THINGS TO DO in the software", I'm afraid.

For now, if you want voice keyer override you are stuck using VOX, MOX or space bar.
