Re: GPSDO Tutorial?

Run it at the maximum setting. This will get you a 3.3v square wave output signal. I bought the Chinese unit, which was riskier, of course, because I wanted access to the uBlox GPS chip serial data output and a 1pps output, neither of which the Bodnar unit has. I did not need or want an adjustable f...

Re: GPSDO Tutorial?

Hi Buck, Yes, it's just that simple on a newer 200D, or on any 7000 or 8000. Attach a valid 10MHz signal and it will be automatically selected for use. Nearly any 10MHz signal will work, square wave, sine wave, over a wide range of input levels. I have one of those low cost, Chinese-built GPSDOs tha...

Re: PSDR mRX General use questions...

Gary, I think you are substantially misunderstanding things. MON output is with all adjustments in place where audio quality is concerned. The old days of using compression in the amplifier to reduce your transmitted dynamic range are long gone, and absolutely the wrong way to do it. Thus you do not...

Re: PSDR mRX General use questions...

1) when using JT65 the waterfall turns bright white when xmitting - is there no way to stop it during TX? I have looked and can't seem to find it. Surely its there somewhere. Sadly, there is currently no way to fix this. The TX waterfall scaling uses the scaling factors that are set for receive. In...

Re: Anan 10-E remote operation.

Hi Steve, Sounds like good progress! Concentrate on getting everything to work over the LAN, first. In VMB you need to assign "Remote Audio" as one of your output devices. The "Remote Audio" devices only show up when you have an RDP session running, so you have to configure it vi...

Can't speak for Rob, but I don't have those buttons in any of my skins, and I don't have any skins that show a July date that would be associated with a recent install of Thetis.

Thanks,

Re: Thetis - Release notes

Rob, There is actually a problem with the TX EQ in 2.5.2 that I discovered and that is being worked right now. Once that is fixed I'm looking forward to putting more time on the new protocol. I have to have that because I'm addicted to the new TX audio capabilities :) FWIW, I'm running the latest P2...

Re: ADC 2 not working?

If you take a look at Page 60 of the user guide , you will see that the Ant1, 2 and 3 connectors only service RX1, while RX2 is only connected to a dedicated connector on the back labeled (somewhat erroneously) as "RX2". Unfortunately, the documentation is quite poor/confusing with respect...

Re: Way to limit AF?

Hi Buck, If this is a problem for VAC, it's also a problem for the radio speaker/headphone output. The feed (from RX1, anyway) is the same. It is interesting that you used MATLAB. To me that seems like an unnecessary level of complexity, but then again I am very comfortable with DAW software and per...

I can duplicate this. It seems anywhere one is in a band segment labeled "Out of Band" or "Shortwave" the band buttons are gone from the display.

Re: Hermes Protocol 2 firmware v10.3 released

One other thought on this subject: In setup do you have Dither and Random enabled? These are ADC controls that, when both turned on, significantly improve the IP3 of the receiver. In the 384KHz or 768KHz cases that would be more important than ever.

Re: Thetis - Release notes

I think PureSignal works well at 192KHz. Performance falls off at higher sample rates, though. Warren has said this is because the current algorithm is optimized for 192KHz. So surely we can look forward to full linearization performance at higher sample rates in the future.

This won't be a complete list, however I can tell you that 2.5.2 brings Thetis relatively up to par with PowerSDR by adding the database import functionality, the new TX audio capabilities, as well the enhancements to CTUN and the other related fixes that just came out in PowerSDR 3.4.2. I imagine t...

Hi I would be very cautious when configuring an RDP (or it’s Citrix equivalent). There's absolutely no need for caution. I have run remote quite often with RDP and, other than needing to be precise about the way you route audio, it works perfectly, no fuss, no muss. <GPHPSDR> From a network (WAN) p...

So run at 768KHz ;) 2. Stitched receivers handle strong local signals much better IE they confine the no...
