Re: P2 Firmware Bugfix Release for All Radios (except 14-bit Hermes)

Mike, That should not be required. There is no longer any so-called "firmware" control of filters in P2. Everything is controlled from Thetis, as it should be. This is also why the Alex button disappeared. However, I may not fully understand the problem, so please let us all know if the ne...

Re: Thetis 2.6.4: Major New Release

@geireri@online.no,
@SA3ATF,

This bug was just reported, see if changing your Windows regional settings helps:

"Thetis (v2.6.4) crashes on start if the regional settings use comma (',') as number fractional part separator."

The dropbox link worked perfectly, I was able to play the video directly from dropbox. And it was very clear what was going on even if I couldn't see you manipulating the diversity controls. Next time it would be handy to see them. You can also change your display settings to move the panadapter amp...

Major New Protocol 2 Firmware Release for All Hardware EXCEPT 14-bit Hermes

To follow along with the major new Thetis software release, Rick, N1GP, has been working extremely hard on the matching Protocol 2 (P2) firmware as well. Many, many thanks to Rick, N1GP for all his hard work!!! Most of the challenges have been associated with adjusting the thermal models in the Quar...

Re: piHPSDR controller discovery not working

Bob, How are you connecting the pi to the radio hardware? I believe all of the controllers were built with the pi 3B, which only has 10/100 Ethernet. You can't connect it directly to hardware running P2 because P2 only runs at Gigabit speed. You'll have to use a switch, or provision a USB Gigabit in...

Re: Thetis 2.6.4: Major New Release - Relais offset

Ups! There is something wrong with the relais offset. VFO A jumps 600 kHz up if PTT is pressed for a few seconds... Do it a few times and you will reach the end of band set in XVTR menu. What is "relais offset"? I'm sorry that I know very little about transverter operation. Transverter fu...

Re: Thetis 2.6.4: Major New Release

Hi Rob,

We are endeavoring to have the firmware posted to the repo at this time.

Also, when you are updating your skins, would you consider changing the famous "POWER" button to "RUN" instead? That's another "bug" that would be worth stamping out :)

Thanks,

Scott

Thetis 2.6.4: Major New Release

This is a major new release. It has all of the important features of PowerSDR now EXCEPT RX2 panafall display, and it has many new features that are not available in PowerSDR (see below). Thetis is arguably not beta anymore! And, just to be clear, no, there is no RX2 panafall...yet. Expect that for...

Another update: I used Powershell affinity related commands shown here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/19187241/change-affinity-of-process-with-windows-script edited to apply to the correct processes, of course, to set the affinity of ALL Chrome processes to my first two CPU cores, and then The...

Re: Audio glitches: why do they occur?

Adding to the above...I can clearly see CPU spikes caused by Chrome activity. Huge spikes on all CPUs. This is generally true on complex web pages like CNN, etc. where there is a lot of advertising and whatnot. Indeed, when I close a tab it can be worse than opening a tab on such a page. I can only ...

Re: Audio glitches: why do they occur?

Hi Gary, Interestingly, I never see this problem on transmit. This problem affects only my receive audio. Again, this is...

Re: Thetis v2.6.3 Install download

For the brave and impetuous, Doug maintains a publicly accessible github site that contains pre-beta software: https://github.com/w5wc/Thetis/releases This stuff can often be quite bug-ridden, so use at own risk, etc. And, it is not always available with an installer. Sometimes it is source-only, so...

Gary, All of your gear is connected to an Ethernet switch . This switch might be part of your router , but whether it is or not, it is still a "switch". BREAK All, My PC is connected to the radio hardware and the internet via a switch. I have also noticed the phenomenon of audio glitches w...

Your PC's should be able to handle 192KHz sampling rates no problem.

See this thread and try some of the tests suggested there to see if you can find any problems:

You results match up with those presented here: https://apache-labs.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2384 With three exceptions. First, it is better to drive the feedback signal as high as possible within the bounds of safety not just for the sake of achieving a wider range of output power lev...

With this in mind I have observed that on some bands, 17, 10 and 6 meters especially, PA drive attenuation must be significantly lowered to reach 100 watts of output into a 50 Ohm dummy load. This seems to be a very common observation by most people. The "rub" is that you get plenty of SS...

Gary,

The only thing I can tell you for certain that is coming is proper spectral display scaling during TX.

RX2 panafall is definitely low on the list.

Not sure about the other stuff.

Re: anan 7000 and pc issue

OK, two more questions: 1. Did you adjust network metrics on both NICs as per Rob's instructions? 2. Did you set the two NICs to different subnets? Just as an example, your main NIC would be on 192.168.1.1 (probably using DHCP from your router) and your radio NIC would be on 192.168.5.1 (using stati...

If you are not home-brewing your own coupler, there is effectively only a single choice on the market, and you have found it: the Xtronic XDC-4. Ha ha, not the right place, Gary, sorry! Because it is not an issue caused by the preselectors. The issue is caused by the feature of PowerSDR (and Thetis) whereby panadapter high/low limits are maintained in the database on a band by band basis, and there is no option in the software to create a gl...
