Re: Remote power on/off & remote control installs

I am planning the install of a RCA connector on the 8000 rear plate. Is there any way to find out if the power switch just grounds the control line to power the rig on?. I tried going over the supplied schematics but it’s not shown? I am also looking into installing the connector for the bootloader,...

Re: Remote power on/off ?

Scott I am running Anan 8000dle with protocol 2 firmware and Thetis 2.60. I setup the rig with the power button in (on) and powered up the setup when turning the astron rs-70 on remotely, when I do this the radio comes up with “radio not found error or not powered up”, I can only get the rig to come...

Re: Remote power on/off ?

Scott Your remote setup is awesome! Thanks for the photo and information. I wasn’t sure from your info but I take it that you leave the on/off switch on the 8000 on and power up the 8000 by the remote power unit. You also brought out the bootloader switch connections to the 8000 rear by an rca or si...

Remote power on/off ?

Is there a way to remotely turn the Anan on and off? I have the Anan 8000dle. I plan to mount the radio remotely. I know you could leave the radio on and cycle power the power supply on / off but possibly have a power variation at power up. Any suggestions or versions of what others are doing? Thank...

Added receive HPF filter control to main console

I have added the button controls on the Thetis main console to control - bypass / engage the receive HPF filtering. I have an 8000dle so this is for the two filter units separately. Also, when you engage the “WB” wideband window mode the HPF filter 1 bank triggers bypassed and indicates on the butto...

Re: Firmware Programmer & Bootloader versions

Thanks very much for the information, I hate to admit it but the reason I am here is that I had protocol 2 firmware running and very very well I might add but got the urge to try the updated sdr-radio software v3.0. Well, sdr-radio would not start so I tried to go back to my trusty Thetis, which is ...

Firmware Programmer & Bootloader versions

Scott, Could you please explain the firmware programmer and bootloader versions. Mainly which one to use for the correct operating system and protocol, etc. The instruction set is great that you have, I use your link to the programmer but there are quite a few to choose from. I thought I had read th...

A/D Temperature And RMDR Performance

I see posted on another site about the need for heatsink cooling on the A/D chips for enhanced performance. Is this something that has an effect on our Anan units? I’m not sure maybe this is already installed. If possible maybe someone could explain. GSTK - Good Stuff To Know!!

Re: New Protocol Update

Just checking, any news on protocol 2 update? Honestly, I am using the present version with the latest Thetis software of version 2.60 provided by w5wc without any problems to speak of. Just curious on any progressing update?

TX Inhibit Function

First, I want to say thank you for all of the great information here. I just wanted to confirm the setup of the TX Inhibit function on my 8000. If I understand correctly I will use the digital input #1 (RCA connector) and select the checkbox in setup to enable. I use Wavenode WN-2 for SWR protection...
