There are at least two programms i know, Multipsk and Dream DRM.
But my main interest would be the use of IQ-TX in my own DSP programming experiments.

The split options are meant as a workaround for rigs with low tx-bandwidth to allow simultaneous JT9/JT65 Mode.
Considering we can define more bandwidth than WSJT-X can support (5kHz) we will never need them.
