Re: New Router Can't Find ANAN
Router wasn't the issue. Wrote a new IP to the ANAN... eventually, I connected a PC to the ANAN, used a bootloader to change the IP to an appropriate static IP for the new subnet. I had hoped to be able to do this remotely but I had no way to move the switch position for the bootloader or remove pow...

Re: New Router Can't Find ANAN
Hi Scott, Thanks for the fast response. TP-Link AX1800 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router, Archer AX21... The network is a bit convoluted: - Cell Modem to AX1800 - AX1800 1st ethernet port home runned to switch (Netgear 5208 switch) that two ports used; one to Mac Laptop and the other to PC where Thetis runs ...

New Router Can't Find ANAN
Today the old router was replaced with a new router. All 24 devices found the new router w/o issue except the ANAN. When I start Thetis I receive this unhelpful error message: Error starting SDR hardware, is it connected and powered? I'm sure its a simple item. I've read and read till my eyes are bl...

Re: Internet Remote using RCFORB and VSPE
AH, Sadly, truly starting from scratch. I have the spectral display covered nicely using SPLASHTOP remote access to the PC. I'm mostly operating as NCO for nets or rag chewing, so latency is not an issue. I"ve loaded RCForb and it runs, I've taken a few steps to name the ports but that is about...

Internet Remote using RCFORB and VSPE
Hi, I've been tinkering with RCForb and VSPE but I don't speak the language so haven't made any progress. The WAN connection here is provided by an AT&T cell modem; on a good day download rate is about 95 Mbps with latency of low 30ms. I wasn't planning on running Thetis on a PC at the remote si...

Re: FATAL ERROR YIKES
deleted database.xml file; reloaded database from archive and all is back to normal. Odd. Problem solved. This process of deleting the corrupted file appears to fix so many issues the next release of software should include a button that runs a script to perform this procedure. The feature would cer...

FATAL ERROR YIKES
Been running 3.4.9 for many months. Been running smoothly. This afternoon I requested an import of an image and afterward I started getting this error message upon start-up: FATAL ERROR Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at PowerSDR.Setup.SaveTXProfileData0 at PowerSDR.Setup.combo...

Re: Receiver audio distortion
While listening to the 7000 this morning receive audio became distorted. I was running task manager in the "Performance" mode. At the time I saw big hits to the Ethernet throughput of the PC running HPSDR. Typically ,Power SDR uses about 55Mbps (version 3.4.9) but the hits were dropping th...

Re: When PowerSDR won't start or exhibits bizarre behavior (database reset/removal)
Somewhat related discovery this morning. Microsoft Update appears to no longer be involved in delivering updates that corrupt HPSDR .XML files. The system has been stable the past few days. While checking this morning audio became distorted. I was running task manager in the "Performance" ...

Re: When PowerSDR won't start or exhibits bizarre behavior (database reset/removal)
... worked a FLEX owner a few days ago who had FLEX files corrupted by recent WIN10 updates... so the problem may not be exclusive to OpenHPSDRmx . Since deleting WIN10 Office Pro there has been no repeat of corrupted XML files by Office Updates.

Re: When PowerSDR won't start or exhibits bizarre behavior (database reset/removal)
More fun... that effort to disable WIN10 UPDATE appears to be an older version of a WIN10 UPDATE solution. There are not two UPDATE programs and when the second program can't work with the 1st the PC locks up and requires a restart. So, I backed out the disable UPDATE option. Since it appears the so...

Re: problems with mrx not starting
A few days later I found the PC had rebooted. When I went to start HPSDR it was back to fatal error. This time deleting the database and or wisdom file did not fix the problem. I did a fresh download of HPSDR and the vanilla applications runs but when I try to import from saved XML files the fatal e...

Re: When PowerSDR won't start or exhibits bizarre behavior (database reset/removal)
More info regarding the latency. I loaded an audio profile ( SSB 3.3k CFC ) and the receive audio got distorted and choppy/ pulsing). Dropped back from a sample rate of 384,000 to 192,000 and problem cleared. Yet another mystery to me! If I go back to 384,000 and set VAC to 512 buffer size clear aud...

Re: When PowerSDR won't start or exhibits bizarre behavior (database reset/removal)
It appears all the saved ANAN7000 .XML files were corrupted by the massive security patches loaded on Terrible Tuesday. Deleting the database and or the wisdom file did not solve the issue. However, starting from scratch and creating new .xml settings images is successful and can be successfully imp...

Re: When PowerSDR won't start or exhibits bizarre behavior (database reset/removal)
Since the latest WIN10 Security UPDATE the ANAN 7000DLE has fatal error upon start. Went to database and deleted. Restart successful but upon attempting to import profile application returns fatal error. This is getting old!

Re: problems with mrx not starting
There was no way available to me to ascertain whether the origin of the problem was due to a OS update or just coincidence. Backing out the updates was not the cure. The cure was to Delete the Settings Folder . It appears the files were corrupted. In my case the WDSPWISDOM file was pretty old. The r...

Re: problems with mrx not starting
Hi, I'm using the 7000DLE MKII with WIN10. Has been running perfect for months. This morning Microsoft notification indicated update 1903 is needed, that support for my version of WIN10 will end and I need to update current version. I performed the update without incident. Now when I start mRX my sc...

Re: Odd XMIT Artifact after PTT released
Update on the network performance. I have been using an excellent little USB TP-link wireless dongle for the remote PC. It provided the same throughput as wired Ethernet. However, after performing a ping test between the dongle and the hardwire... I could see at times where the latency on the wirele...

Re: Odd XMIT Artifact after PTT released
Thanks Mike,
I'm using multi-mode fiber. Have a 3' CAT cable between fiber to ethernet converter to router. Same on the host side. I'm not seeing throughput demands anywhere near 100 Mbps. I suspect the latency is in the converter or router or switch or all three combined.

Re: Odd XMIT Artifact after PTT released
Hmmm,
For some reason I couldn't snip the command prompt window but the results are not great:
round trip Minimum = 4ms, MAX = 4ms, Average = 4ms
Sometimes average = 3ms other times 6ms
thanks

This is a temporary ops position. There is construction is taking place where the primary ops position is located. The mic cord of the Shure 55S is too short to reach PC so used the W2IHY box for RCA jack and output to PC with compatible 1/8" stereo jack. Here are the screen shots: Options Tab....

Odd XMIT Artifact after PTT released
Hi Folks, I recently upgraded from 100D to 7000DLE. The 7000 came up easy and I am a full-time LAN remote operator. Recently, I completed the audio setup and have spent a good bit of screen time during those adjustments. During this screen time is when I noticed an anomaly where the last 5-25 ms of ...
