Re: SDR Console 10-23-2017 64-bit Release with ANAN-200D

Just an update on the resolution for the program stalling problem I was seeing with SDR Console. As it turns out, in the Windows 7 firewall settings there was a second entry for SDR Console that was blocking it from responding to the keep-alive "ACK" packets. Once the settings in that seco...

Re: "Singing the song of our people"

I kind of like the natural sounding two-tone (700Hz + 1900Hz ) "Song of Our People" and will tune right to it when I hear it on any band! It helps me to avoid signals like this newest addition to the "Dirty Dozen Hall of IMD Infamy"! The guy displayed in the screenshot below was ...

Hi Gary,

I am not seeing this with my ANAN-200D running 3.4.9. Not sure what other settings might provoke that to happen.

Re: Flashing ANAN 200 D with New Protocol

David, Don't be too discouraged at this point in the development process. Apparently, there are still some timing closure issues and logic errors that are being chased out. At this time, my own 200D is not fully functional with the Protocol 2 firmware so I am also a member of the club that's looking...

Carl, It was nice to catch you yesterday on 20 meters. Although we only chatted for a few minutes I was actually listening most of the time you were on the air and it looks like tightening up the loose hardware has corrected the issue. I didn't hear any anomalies or observe any blow-outs in the pana...

Re: software to use as a VNA

Ben, I just installed the Hermes VNA software and it runs fine on my Windows 7 computer. It connected right up to my ANAN-200D on its little private subnet and patiently waited for me to figure out how to run a simple plot. I ran the calibration procedure (open circuit, short circuit, 50 ohm termina...

Hi Ben, I did not reply immediately to your post because I hoped that someone might have more information than I have. I have not personally used the software at the link below with either my ANAN-100 or my ANAN-200D but perhaps others have, or maybe Phil VK6APH will jump in with comments on the sta...

I use the rear panel DB25 for PTT with my 200D: Connect one lead to pin 13 (PTT) Connect one lead to pin 21 (Analog Ground) When the connection is closed between those two pins you will transition from RX to TX. Note that pin 25 (Analog Ground) can also be used for the ground pin instead of pin 21 i...

Re: ELECTRO VOICE RE320 THETIS v. PWRSDR

Hi Mark, I believe the Angelia board MIC jumpers are in the same area as the Hermes MIC jumpers, right behind the 1/8 inch input jacks. With my ANAN-100 that I sold last year it was about a 15 minute job to drop the front panel and reach in with tweezers to arrange the jumpers as needed. Add another...

Re: 15 Mhz AM reception

Hi Bill, Keep an eye on the ATT field down at the lower left of the GUI. I think above and below 15 MHz you will see a different attenuation level by default when you tune either lower or higher than 15 MHz. If you set the 15 MHz ATT level to the same as 14.999 and 15.001 the RX behavior should be t...

Re: Firmware Programmer & Bootloader versions

Hi Joe, I'm not as good looking as Scott but I can answer this one: The HPSDRProgrammer (version 2 nopcap) utility is the most convenient for flashing any protocol 1 firmware to another protocol 1 version. You can also use the HPSDRProgrammer to flash from protocol 1 to protocol 2, however, it is un...

Hi Gary, I never tried directly editing the RX frequency in the chart as you have described, but I brought up my Memory chart in OpenHPSDR and found that if I only edit the RX Freq column, it behaves exactly as you stated. The entry in the chart changes, but the actual received frequency does NOT ch...

That was quite a project Scott! You were really thorough and the 30 degree drop is a nice payback for the effort. Nicely done! Glad you have it sorted out Tony. Yes, when I have not used the playback feature for awhile I nearly always forget to set the PTT override for VAC. It provokes one of those hmmmmm.... moments but I suppose it's good for the brain!

Re: New Quick Setup Guide for the CFC Audio Tools - 8-18-2017

Hi Tony, From your screenshot, it looks like you may be playing back an audio wav file while in receive mode. The PowerSDR mRx PS audio wav playback and quick play functions are only intended to play audio files while in transmit mode. My screen looks similar to yours if I play an audio file through...

Re: New Quick Setup Guide for the CFC Audio Tools - 8-18-2017

Hi Tony, If it sounds fine when playing it back on the PC then it most likely is the TX Gain setting in the "Wav File Controls" form. I can't recall what the default setting is but I do recall that I had to reduce the gain significantly to get the audio level close to the level of my audio...

Primary Buffer Size is 512 and sampling rate is at 192KHz. My VAC buffer size is at 512 with a 48KHz sampling rate to match my UMC202HD interface sampling rate of 48KHz.

Smooth sailing with a Buffer Latency setting of 0ms with the new Resampler!

Hi Chuck, I believe you can identify whether it is a 10 or a 10E by looking at the firmware version in the Hardware Config menu tab of OpenHPSDR. The ANAN-10 firmware will be in the 3.x series which is also used by the ANAN-100 rigs. The ANAN-10E firmware will be in the 1.x series which is also used...

Re: Balanced (XLR) microphone connections

Very nicely illustrated Scott, and it should be helpful to anyone running audio into the ANAN's 1/8 inch TRS MIC jack. When running a balanced microphone (typically found with studio dynamics) into an unbalanced input (like what is found with the 1/8 inch TRS jack of the ANAN rigs) I have always use...

Hi Mike, I'm not seeing that behavior here using OpenHPSDR mRX PS V3.4.9 with my 200D. In the video that I uploaded to YouTube the gain and phase remain the same, and the null is preserved, whether I step through the band stack or adjust VFO A. I'm using my 185 foot center-fed wire transmitting ante...
