Re: 2.6.8

Thank you to all the developers for all the work done to put version 2.6.8 together. The improvements to the GUI are very much appreciated as is everything that was done under the hood. It has been very stable for me with my 200D using F/W v1.8 and I look forward to running through all the features ...

Joe (WD5Y)

Thanks for the implementation of the Bypass dropdown from the top menu and also the auto select of bypass with WB enabled. I can hear the relay click when I enable the WB display and it clicks again when I shutdown the WB display. Very slick!

Re: My Mods to Thetis v.2.6.7

Yes indeed! I just installed v2.6.8 and it's running fine. You will have to update Microsoft Net Framework to v4.8.0 (or later) and do a restart but that goes in smoothly. I haven't given it a complete shakedown yet but an initial check of the major features indicates a beautiful update. Looks prett...

Re: Antena selector relay fail.

If Scott's suggestion of trying different Protocol 2 versions of the firmware does not help, you might try moving from Thetis 2.6.7 backward to Thetis version 2.6.6. There seems to be something strange about the behavior of the Antenna matrix with v2.6.7, at least for me and several others. With my ...

200D Thetis 2.6.7 FW v1.8 Doug, I also see a startup issue with v2.6.7 about 10% of the time, however, I do get the splash screen and the GUI comes up normally. However, when I press the Start button Thetis does not fully start. The 200D is recognized and the software connects to the hardware but no...

Re: Thetis 2.6.7 Fatal Error at startup if certain Bypass options are enabled

Thanks for confirming that Phil. I've sort of given up on Protocol 2 for now, although I have found with my 200D that firmware version 1.7 works much better than v1.8 for me. The timing closure must be much closer to optimal for my FPGA as I get Pure Signal correction as soon as I start up (v1.8 wou...

Re: Anan 8000DLE and SDR Console will not transmit

Hi Nico. It looks like you are making progress with transmitting SSB. There are two menu settings in the Transmit menu tab that affect the power setting when using Tune. You can define the power that you want Tune to use by adjusting the value in the Tune power box, or you can enable the option to u...

Re: Do not use APIPA when programming an IP address!

Scott, As you said, who knows what mask assignment the ANAN actually has? Watching my ANAN subnet with Wireshark simply shows UDP packets happily going back and forth from 192.168.5.1 (the NIC) and 192.168.5.2 (the ANAN) with no cares at all. My guess is that if the ANAN and the NIC it is directly c...

Re: Do not use APIPA when programming an IP address!

The problem is that if you set the IP address of the ANAN with HPSDRProgrammer or Bootloader while the ANAN is directly connected and using the self-assigned 169.xxx.xxx.xxx APIPA address it will take whatever 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x IP address you program it with but it will retain the 255.255.0.0 ...

Re: Do not use APIPA when programming an IP address!

The advice posted by Chris is excellent and it is a good explanation for why some users are unable to make a static IP assignment work with a direct connection between their computer and their ANAN. I was not aware of the "sticky" netmask assignment of 255.255.0.0 that exists when an IP is...

Re: Thetis 2.6.7 Fatal Error at startup if certain Bypass options are enabled

I was able to run a few more tests this morning and narrowed down the two settings on the HPF/LPF menu that trigger a fatal error if enabled. Thetis will produce a Fatal Error the next time it is started if these are checked: 6m/Bypass on RX 6m BPF/LNA Looks like the those toggles might still be usi...

I then went back to v1.8 of the 200D firmware and dropped back to Thetis v2.6.6 and ran this combination for about 2 weeks without any star...

Thetis 2.6.7 Fatal Error at startup if certain Bypass options are enabled

I have noticed two behaviors with Thetis 2.6.7 that were unexpected while using my 200D (firmware v1.8): 1. If the Alex checkbox is unchecked in the H/W Select menu tab two things will happen: RX-1 will no longer be connected to the ANT port so nothing will be received and the 200D will no longer pr...

Re: Cannot write Protocol 2 .rbf to 7000DLE MkII

Hi Neoklis, It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong as many of us have seen this. The error you received will happen sometimes because the HPSDRProgrammer and the HPSDRBootloader utilities don't always like the name of the rbf file. If you change the file name so that it begins with the word Me...

Re: Thetis 2.6.4: Major New Release

A nice surprise from Doug tonight as Thetis v2.6.5 has been released at the TAPR GitHub repository: https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/releases I gave it a brief run and it behaved very nicely with my ANAN-200D from 160m - 6m. Initially, the feedback light will flash appropriately but the correction ...
