Re: Anan 8000DLE and SDR Console will not transmit

Hi Nico. It looks like you are making progress with transmitting SSB. There are two menu settings in the Transmit menu tab that affect the power setting when using Tune. You can define the power that you want Tune to use by adjusting the value in the Tune power box, or you can enable the option to u...

Re: Do not use APIPA when programming an IP address!

Scott, As you said, who knows what mask assignment the ANAN actually has? Watching my ANAN subnet with Wireshark simply shows UDP packets happily going back and forth from 192.168.5.1 (the NIC) and 192.168.5.2 (the ANAN) with no cares at all. My guess is that if the ANAN and the NIC it is directly c...

Re: Do not use APIPA when programming an IP address!

The problem is that if you set the IP address of the ANAN with HPSDRProgrammer or Bootloader while the ANAN is directly connected and using the self-assigned 169.xxx.xxx.xxx APIPA address it will take whatever 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x IP address you program it with but it will retain the 255.255.0.0 ...

Re: Do not use APIPA when programming an IP address!

The advice posted by Chris is excellent and it is a good explanation for why some users are unable to make a static IP assignment work with a direct connection between their computer and their ANAN. I was not aware of the "sticky" netmask assignment of 255.255.0.0 that exists when an IP is...

Re: Thetis 2.6.7 Fatal Error at startup if certain Bypass options are enabled

I was able to run a few more tests this morning and narrowed down the two settings on the HPF/LPF menu that trigger a fatal error if enabled. Thetis will produce a Fatal Error the next time it is started if these are checked: 6m/Bypass on RX 6m BPF/LNA Looks like the those toggles might still be usi...

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

I've been trying to trap any user settings in Thetis that might cause the bad startup event I am seeing with Protocol 2 about 1 out of 10 startups. The video below illustrates what happens, but the short story is that even with a fresh database this loss of reception with both RX-1 and RX-2 issue is...

Thetis 2.6.7 Fatal Error at startup if certain Bypass options are enabled

I have noticed two behaviors with Thetis 2.6.7 that were unexpected while using my 200D (firmware v1.8): 1. If the Alex checkbox is unchecked in the H/W Select menu tab two things will happen: RX-1 will no longer be connected to the ANT port so nothing will be received and the 200D will no longer pr...

Hi Dave, Take a screenshot of your own settings so you can go back to them if you wish and then uncheck Force and try the RingBuffer and PortAudio settings in the screenshot below. I am seeing no Overflows or Underflows after the first few seconds and no glitches or dropouts of the audio stream whil...

Re: Cannot write Protocol 2 .rbf to 7000DLE MkII

Neoklis, After re-reading your first paragraph again I am wondering if the Protocol 1 firmware update that failed was because the firmware file was truncated. This is a big problem for people if they download the firmware by right-clicking and then doing a "save as" to direct it to a folde...

Re: Cannot write Protocol 2 .rbf to 7000DLE MkII

Hi Neoklis, It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong as many of us have seen this. The error you received will happen sometimes because the HPSDRProgrammer and the HPSDRBootloader utilities don't always like the name of the rbf file. If you change the file name so that it begins with the word Me...

Re: Thetis 2.6.4: Major New Release

A nice surprise from Doug tonight as Thetis v2.6.5 has been released at the TAPR GitHub repository: https://github.com/TAPR/OpenHPSDR-Thetis/releases I gave it a brief run and it behaved very nicely with my ANAN-200D from 160m - 6m. The long shutdown experienced with v2.6.4 was certainly addressed a...

Scott, Just an observation that might be similar to what Phil is seeing. Initially, the feedback light will flash appropriately but the correction ...

Interesting observation about the "golden" sampling rate of 192K Gary. I rarely stray from 192K and have not observed any audio glitches since the resampler was implemented. That being said, I experienced them frequently when my ANAN was connected to my computer through the router. I have ...

Re: My Diveristy Adventures

Hi Perry, I'm not sure which ANAN hardware you are running but as Gary said, the RX2 port needs to be switched away from the antenna and grounded when you transmit. Some of the ANAN hardware does this internally, but some of it does not. My ANAN-200D does not ground the RX2 port so I use an external...

Re: Cannot Transmit CW (SDR-Radio Console 3.0.5 and Anan 100D)

Simon released another version on 2/26/2019 (v3.0.6 build 1431) which I just installed. It transmits fine, so perhaps there was something that got fixed as the 3.0.5 versions and the 2/25/2019 build of 3.0.6 would not work for me. I've only been running the latest update for a few minutes but as far...

Hi John, I took a quick look at 3.0.5 and also 3.0.6 and found that my 200D would no longer transmit with those versions. I jumped back to 3.0.4 and all was well again. Jack, A stock radio will come with protocol 1 installed so the HPSDRBootloader would be your best option if you have already tried the HPSDRProgrammer without success. If you have not done so already, be sure to read over Scott's excellent post regarding the dependencies (bootloader switch and WinPC...

My 200D is probably a lot like yours as Pure Signal would not work with 5.1 or 5.2, so I rolled back to version 5.0 which works perfectly. The two newer versions offer no additional features as Joe was exploring some different approaches in the firmware to see if the end result would be more compati...
