Re: Has anyone tried protocol 2 on Anan 100 hermes?

Hi Tony, I no longer have my ANAN-100 but before I sold it back in April 2017 my Hermes ANAN-100 worked pretty well with the protocol 2 version that was out at that time. It looks like there is newer firmware now and Thetis has also evolved so you might find that it works quite well. I had good luck...

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Just a quick note to report that I loaded the new v1.5 Orion firmware release (from GitHub) yesterday into my 200D and ran it all day today with sessions of Thetis (v2.6.2) and also with Simon's SDR Console (v3.0.4 build 1374)) and it worked flawlessly. In Thetis I got excellent correction with Pure...

Re: Orion (200D) and Orion MKII (7000 & 8000) users: P2 v1.4 released

Hi Dave, That's an interesting development following your latest firmware flash. I found with OpenHPSDR v3.4.9 that the spectrum looked nice and clean until I adjusted the S-ATT level manually in RX-1 to match the level that my Thetis software was set to. As soon as i adjusted it both RX-1 and RX-2 ...

Re: Orion (200D) and Orion MKII (7000 & 8000) users: P2 v1.4 released

Hi Rick, My 200D has a static IP assignment (192.168.5.2) and is directly connected to a second ethernet port on the computer that has a static assignment (192.168.5.1) in the same subnet. I should have checked to see if the ANAN was pingable but I didn't think of that until I had recovered it with ...

Re: Orion (200D) and Orion MKII (7000 & 8000) users: P2 v1.4 released

Rick and all, I did a few tests with my 200D to compare Thetis v2.6.2 running v1.5_pre1 firmware with OpenHPSDR v3.4.9 running v5.0 firmware. The first screenshot shows what Thetis looks like in the RX-1 and RX-2 panadapters on 6 meters. The second screenshot shows what OpenHPSDR v3.4.9 looks like u...

Re: Orion (200D) and Orion MKII (7000 & 8000) users: P2 v1.4 released

Hi Rick,

I ran into the same problem as Bill - NL7F. In spite of the LED behavior at the ANAN network port responding correctly, Thetis could not connect to the 200D. The P2 Programmer also could not see it. The Bootloader utility took me back to P2_pre1 without any problem.

Re: Audio record doesn't work at all in v3.4.9?

This is a strange one Jim. Is this the Quick REC and PLAY device or the recorder in the Wav menu box? I'm curious if it has the same issue if you try to make an I/Q recording. Also, do you have a copy of the free "Audacity" wav and mp3 editor on your machine? It would be interesting to see...

Re: Orion (200D) and Orion MKII (7000 & 8000) users: P2 v1.4 released

Rick, I ran a number of stations today on 20 meter SSB with the P2 v1.5 pre-release from last night and it performed flawlessly. No blowouts with Pure Signal for the entire 1.5 hours while correcting my AL-82 and no anomalies noted except for a very infrequent flashing of an Seq=>2 error while trans...

Thanks Rick,

I am going to load 1.5 pre right now into my 200D and take a quick look tonight on 160 meters. Will play with it more tomorrow morning.

Thanks for running through all those lines of code!

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

200D (REV 24) with Orion_NP_v1.4.rbf and Thetis v2.6.2 After a morning of casual operating with my 200D I can report the following: 1. The L/R audio seems to behave appropriately as it does in OpenHPSDR v3.4.9. 2. Pure Signal has been displaying clean corrections in AmpView from 160 through 6 meters...

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Jeff, No, the SWL list was click-able and would instantly tune Thetis to a frequency in the list but it did not behave like the DX spots tool which did populate the Panadapter display. It behaved like the SWL list in Ham Radio Deluxe so I assumed that was the way it was supposed to be. I didn't mess...

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Hi Rick, With protocol 1 and OpenHPSDR mRX PS, when I plug stereo headphones into the front panel headphone jack of my 200D, moving the pan control for the main receiver to the right causes the audio to come out of the right earpiece, which is the expected outcome. (Using v5.0 firmware) With protoco...

I would echo that I also experience the disappearing PS issue that Jeff has outlined above. Sometimes it will resume on its own but other times it will get quite stubborn and require inte...

Scott, I have used P2 firmware v1.3 and Thetis v2.60 with my 200D for casual operation on the 160 and 75 meter bands and it has been stable there. The Pure Signal protocol does not work well on 40 meters (AmpView displays a very confused looking graph) and on 20 meters and above it does not work at ...

Ed, Back in 2014 when I first had my ANAN-100 there was an issue with low power output on 12 meters if the firmware version that was released for the TAPR Hermes board was used with the ANAN version of Hermes. Typically, within a few days of a firmware release Abhi would re-map the LPF in the firmwa...
