VFO B to A long delay

Using 3.4.9 on ANAN 100 Clicking VFOB TX all is well, split is turned on, executes immediately. But then clicking VFOA TX there is a 1.8 second delay while split is turned off, Power cycles, and VFOA is selected before a response is received via CAT control. Why the long delay? Is there some logical...

Re: Filter WIdth

Not as easily done as it sounds. Hamlib doesn't support transmit passband (yet). I think I may add that though. I wonder about the behavior on all the rigs that support this if we set tx passband to center freq +/- 70Hz say to allow the rig's passband logic to round as they may do. Most of the docs ...

Re: Filter WIdth

WSJT-X has split ops mode which does something similar under the covers to keep your audio at 1500-2000 offset from the rig frequency and avoid the harmonics. It's called split ops because it can use either rig split or "fake it" mode which uses VFOA only. RIght now I'm running with a patc...

Re: Filter WIdth

Thanks Scott.... BH4 low latency, 16384 Filter can now be 100Hz wide (minimum that it does) and the single tone maintains the level. I have to stay 30Hz away from the frequency and the low side and 20Hz on the high side before it impacts it at 1900Hz. I imagine those odd numbers on either side are d...

Filter WIdth

Was playing around with the Transmit Filter settings and noticed this. If I generate a 1900Hz tone the filter cannot be any narrower than 1780-2020 without losing the peak signal so 120Hz both sides is needed. On the panadapter the width of the primary tone is 40Hz. I should be able to have a 100Hz ...

Re: Guidelines For Best Transmitted Signal Quality With Digi Modes

Couple more questions. What is a "good solution" for Single Calibrate? How does one know? And I guess the "Correcting" means Pure SIgnal is doing it's thing? Is this appropriate then for all digital modes? I'm showing the highest harmonic 50dB down on an FT8 tranmissions which so...

Re: Guidelines For Best Transmitted Signal Quality With Digi Modes

Thanks a lot for posting this....

Couple questions
#1 Where is the ALC setting?
#2 Where is the "Single Calibrate mode of PureSignal"?

I'm probably blind but can't find either of these.

Re: FlDigi Configuration with PSDR

Look in Setup/General/Audio
Under the Virtual Audio Cable Setup you'll see "Auto Enable".
Turn it off.

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

FYI...I just switch from Muzychenko to Voice Meter Banana and a lot of the dropouts from WSJT-X went away...not completely but LOTS better.
This is the same thing Glen said he noticed too.

Reducing Primary VAC to 48kHz and 48kHz everywhere else solved the PowerSDR->Rig dropouts.

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

I just ran a test using TamoSoft Throughput Test. I'm showing a consistent 1% loss on UDP packets (not surprising) at a UDP throughput of ~800Mbps TCP throughput is ~6000Mbps with 0% loss of course so over 7X better. I'm starting to think we need to use TCP for the rig audio instead of UDP. Is there...

Re: Apparent glitches using VAC1 xmit audio

I ran some tests using Tune on PowerSDR. So nothing to do with WSJT-X or any virtual cables. First thing is you'll see the "glitch" just by adjusting the Drive. So this is all edge effects on the FFT from dead space. Turned on Tune and then capture the audio stream from PowerSDR to the rig...

Headphones working OK....helps when you use the right plug.... Using an XG3 -73dBm 50uV signal into my TenTec Omni VII get this https://www.dropbox.com/s/v0gf4nhsf85jg70/wsjtx-omni.png?dl=1 Same signal into ANAN 100 looks good in the scope https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhz86glfxxvdqxr/wsjtx-scope.png?dl...

No audio on headphones

All of a sudden I started getting really lousy signals on WSJT-X with my ANAN 100. Fat signals and unable to decode. I now find there is also no audio coming out the headphones...so though that might be related. Putting a known signal on the antenna shows clean on the scope but is far too wide on th...

Re: VAC SIGNAL NOT STEADY

Here's my system calling CQ top one no dropouts, bottom one has some. I'm running 48kHz sampling right now and still seeing dropouts but not as bad. Latency mon shows no problems. I see this show up as power variation on Fwd Pwr and the "flashing" of the spectra as these sharp transitions ...

That's not a usable dropbox link you posted. You need to right-click the file and "Copy dropbox link".

Why are you using NB? Usually you don't want any such thing on WSJT-X modes.

Re: VAC SIGNAL NOT STEADY

I started having problems too. Latency mon sees no problems. 2048 buffer size didn't change things. But dropping the Primary sample rate to 96000 did solve it. Recording the transmission could see half a dozen dropouts running FT8 on WSJT-X.

Re: ADC1 Overload

I didn't have the Stereo checked in PowerSDR. So PowerSdr seems to be summing for Mono also. If I change WSJT-X's audio to Left channel I see the 6dB drop. In Mono it goes back up 6dB. If I turn on Stereo in PowerSDR then both show 0dB for either Mono or Left in WSJT-X. i.e.no change. Does this soun...

Re: ADC1 Overload

What apparently is happening is that using only 1 channel only gives PowerSDR half-value data.
So...50W is as much as can be put out without overdriving the ADC,
Once I enabled 2-channel power output doubled.

Re: ADC1 Overload

I figured this out. I had the audio output channel in Windows set to 1-channel instead of 2. So I guess those two channels are added together instead of averaged. Not sure why one would need to do that in the digital realm but I guess some may be using analog connections? Even the I assume it's bein...

Re: ADC1 Overload

VSWR varies by band but typically around 1.2 on the bands using now.
I do have a receive only antenna on Rx 2. I'll test with that yanked out too but that shouldn't cause a change in output power level, should it?

TX Gain=0 and MIC shows -6dB on the scale.

I've got two transmit antennas. One 61ft dipole in my attic on a tuner and a 15M vertical delta loop outside that I'm testing right now. If I set 0dB on VAC1 TX Gain the most I can get is 25W out. Re: ADC1 Overload

Should have mentions I'm using FT8 right now so just 15-second intervals... No Pure Signal. ADC1 overloads with the combination of VAC1 TX Gain and Power Level from WSJT-X. So if I drop WSJT-X's power level and increase TX Gain I get the ADC1 indicator agai at the same power level. I assume when the...
