Re: Main Filter attenuating signals on 20M and up

Hi Chris,

Must be a bug - notes, with luck I'll look at this next week. Best place for support is https://www.sdr-radio.com/support as that's monitored all the time (well, inbetween beers).

There will be support - better support (!) in 3.0.4 which I hope to make available in a week or so.

Testing v3.0.4

Hi all, After a long pause I'm finally back to the ANAN support, currently using the 10E with a Gemini HF-1k amplifer. Now testing with good results. See: https://www.sdr-radio.com/Radios/ANAN(ApacheLabs) for more information. If you are running protocol II and are interested send me an e-mail, I'll...

Rob,

Give me a week or two to get on top of the ANAN code, then we'll find out what's wrong. I'm guessing the ACK / keepalive packets aren't being sent.

Re: Console and the 8000DLE - Defintion

How do I get Console to recognize my radio and setup the definition? I am trying to give this a run before I wrap up the *K review for SDRZone and would like to get a few hours logged with it before I finish my write up. Protocol 2 is loaded V 1.2 and Thetis works with it. WinPcap is loaded. Radio ...

Re: SDR Console V3 on a 200D

I too have a 200D, I installed the software and love the look of it, only used it for RX at the moment but plan to test it on TX at he week end. Is this software still a work in progress or is it at the end of the line, reason I ask is that I don't want to spend hours fine tuning it to suit my stat...

Re: SDR Console V3 on a 200D

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. V4 will never happen - like Windows 10 version is the last - it'll live as long as I do :) .

Obviously a lot to do including a new website, my sites in fact migrated to the cloud today, I'm reserving a week or two for a new website rewrite with the online help.

I have a Radeon RX470, I don't think PowerSDR pushes the Graphics card at all, I think memory and CPU are more important, also a good fast HDD. My PC is for my radio only, running PowerSDR, HRD & JT65-HF My system is a i7-6800K CPU @ 3.80GHz 64GB Fast Ram Samsung 850 Evo SSD Last time I looked ...

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance

One thing I do with new PCs is run one of the many utilities which sets the CPU to 100% load for ten minutes, this way you see how good the cooling really is.

My default for CPU cooling is water, GPU is fans but the fans always run, even if at just 25%.

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance

About the GPU (graphics card) - this is important when the software used OpenGL or DirectX graphics, programs such a PowerSDR, SDR# etc. don't, also a NVIDIA GPU can be used for FFT processing.

As far as I know, V3 of my own software is the only common SDR console using the GPU for graphics.

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance

I also prefer stability over performance (so don't ask me why I use openHPSDR firmware and software ;) ) So far the machine has been a rock at 5GHz under the conditions that I use it. Very speedy! If it were not, I would not use it this way. I don't like to stress hardware, it's bad enough with the...

Nice video but... When you switched from SSB to CW one can hear some high pitched cracking noises which are not due to static discharges. When listening and looking carefully it is easy to notice that these crackings are not synchronous with the statics as seen on the waterfall. Was the primary aud...

Re: Rob Sherwood, NCOB's Dayton Presentation

One of the most important factors that Rob left out of the discussion is that direct sampling radios are flat out cheaper to produce, thereby substantially affecting the profit margins of the manufacturers. Compared to multi-conversion superhet's, parts counts are way down, touch labor is way down,...

Only SDR Console, which is in beta for Apache radios right now, supports CUDA, and Simon, the author, will be the first to tell you that CUDA support is by no means necessary for satisfactory performance. In other words, don't go out of your way right now to add CUDA support to your setup. There's ...

Be aware, too, that the display logic seems to have some state persistence that survives a power off/on cycle of the 8000's power button. I ran into a spurious over-current fault the other day. On power-up, it beeped and complained that the 50V supply had excessive current (or something to that eff...
