Re: Display problems
RX1 and RX2 are set exactly the same on DSP>AGC/ALC. AGC Gain is set to 90 on both RX1 and RX2. The "G" and square box appear on RX1 and RX2 in the same position and the same color. The difference is that RX1 has a line extending across the display and RX2 does not. On DSP>AGC/ALC, if I ch...

Re: Display problems
Ok, I saved PSA and VAC2 to my transmit profiles, and that works, and I understand why the difference in DEXP (though I think the display line should be moved down to align with the button). However, on DSP>AGC/ALC I do have checks in all the RX2 boxes, just as in the RX1 boxes, and RX2 Gain Line is...

Display problems
display.JPG 1. There is no AGC line for RX2 as there is for RX1. How can I make that appear? 2. The control for DEXP is mangled. How can I fix that? 3. Not readily apparent, the values for PSA and VAC2 are not remembered and are always off when the program starts. How can I make Thetis remember tha...

ADC settings moving from PowerSDR
When running PowerSDR on my 200D, I had the ADC tab set this way:
What would be the corresponding setting in Thetis? Thanks.

Re: Virtual serial Port Woes
I got the key for VSPE and have been using it. The created pairs don't show up in Device Manager, I noticed, and do not survive a computer shutdown or restart. Anyone know a way to make the ports more permanent?

Virtual serial Port Woes
I had to reinstall Windows 10, and all apps. I used vspMgr as before to make a pair of virtual serial ports. It gave me an error when making the pair. However, device manager says the pair (COM5 and 6) are there and working properly. PowerSDR says it cannot connect to CAT 5. Where can I start to tro...

Is there a consensus for the best AGC settings for digital modes? A recent presentation by the Contesting University recommended off if possible, or slow. Thanks for opinions.

Re: Which rear connectors to use for Navigator modem?
Thanks, Scott, I'll use pin 10. I haven't given up on virtual audio. But I have the Navigator hardware sitting here, and would like to run side-by-side comparisons. For VAC, I currently use Voicemeeter's A-B cables, set at 24 bits 48K sample rate and that works pretty well.

Which rear connectors to use for Navigator modem?
I'm going to try my Timewave Navigator modem with my 200-D, and plan to hook up through the rear DB-25. It looks like pin 1 is PTT, pin 21 or 25 for ground, pin 10 or 22 for line out, and pin 12 for line in. Is this correct? Also, is it only RX1 that is routed to the rear? Anyone using one of these ...

Re: Tried Thetis again, now VAC is broken.
Reset the database, when that didn't work removed all components and folders and did clean install including wisdom. Audio works when routed through UMC ASIO on either VAC channel 1 or 2, but crashes when MME, Windows Direct, or WDM-KS is used to route sound through any device, including built-in so...

Tried Thetis again, now VAC is broken.
I have, from time to time, tried Thetis on my 200D and always with the same results. It doesn't work with VAC2. Up to now, I've been able to roll back to Protocol 1 with the bootloader and go back to 3.4.9. This time, however, PowerSDR will not work with VAC2, giving a port error (see attachment). I...

Re: First attempt at Thetis
Afraid so. I've now tried every combination: ASIO, MME, etc. with VMB, M-VAC, and even VMP (potato). If VAC2 is enabled, VAC1 will not modulate the transmission. While hoping for a fix, I will go back to Protocol 1 and PowerSDR, reluctantly as I found much to like about Thetis. I wonder, though, abo...

Re: First attempt at Thetis
I've been trying different things all day, and it seems that, on Thetis, VAC 1 and 2 cannot be used simultaneously. VAC 1 will transmit only if VAC 2 is turned off, or set to ASIO (but then it cannot be piped to another program). I would like to hear from anyone who has VACs 1 and 2 working together...

Re: First attempt at Thetis
I have just found that, if VAC2 is turned off, the microphone will transmit, even if RX2 is on. If VAC2 is then enabled, with no other changes, the microphone will not transmit. Any ideas on how that could be?

Re: First attempt at Thetis
Hmmm...it seems like we are still getting mixed reports on the Orion code. More people can run it, but many still cannot. Buck--it takes some trial and error to determine this, which you could have done yourself, but in Thetis 2.6.0: DDC2 is assigned to RX1 DDC3 is assigned to RX2 Knowing that you ...

I loaded P2.1.3 and it cannot find the radio (asks if powered up). I loaded P2.1.1 and it finds the radio and runs Thetis at a normal noise level. It receives and transmits, but has problems with each. I use VAC on both RX1 and RX2 (see attachments). VAC1 is for voice, using ASIO and the mic and spe...

First attempt at Thetis
I've been using OpenHPSDR 3.4.9 on my 200D, through a dumb network switch and a windows 10 i7 desktop, and decided to try Thetis. I used the bootloader and Orion_NP_v1.2_restored_4-17.rbf, which I had to rename metis.rbf. Bootloader reported successful programming of the protocol 2 firmware. I then ...

Re: Problem with multiple antennas
I connected RX2 directly to the splitter, bypassing the switch. When tuned to WWV at 5.00 MHz, the signal on RX2 ranges between -68 and -72 dBm if RX1 is on the other antenna, and -91 to -97 when they share the antenna. So yes, the approximately 25 dBm attenuation is still there when the switch is b...

Problem with multiple antennas
I have two receiving only antennas: a 300-foot Beverage and a nine-foot active vertical. They each plug into ANZAC splitters. Those run, for RX1, to PowerSDR antenna inputs 2 and 3, and for RX2, to an Alpha-Delta switch that controls whether RX2 receives from the Beverage or the vertical. I work a d...

Re: Resampler causes crash
I bought a 2.4GHz keyboard/mouse from Amazon (not Logitech but a cheaper one by Jelly Comb) and installed it. I'm happy to say that it seems to have solved at least the majority of the problems. Re: Resampler causes crash
Phil, thanks. I ordered a 2.4 GHz keyboard/mouse as recommended and will see if that helps the freezing. I've not had problems with either monitor (yet). I use only VAC for audio so don't worry about the line connections front or rear. Nice looking case for your 200D.

Re: Resampler causes crash
Thanks for the suggestions. I spent a morning retuning the vertical to present a lower SWR at the problem frequency, then used an MFJ meter to read RF near the tuner, mouse, and keyboard. At 400 watts, the meter read 30 on its most sensitive setting when using the dipole (and the computer froze), bu...

Upon further testing, it seems to be related to another problem I've been struggling with for awhile. Setup is i7 desktop, Win 10, 200D running firmware 4.9 and 3.4.9. VAC1 is UMC ASIO driver to Behringer 202HD and VAC2 is virtual channel using MME and M-VAC. I activated the new resampler using buffer size 2048 and auto latency. It works fine for a short amount of time, then crashes mRX. Upon restar...

Re: GPSDO Tutorial?
Hi Bob, As for distribution to multiple radios, since the 10MHz inputs on the Apache Labs radios are high impedance, you can generally get away with using T connectors. However, to do it in a more proper fashion a distribution amplifier is the best way. There is a matching BG7TBL designed distribut...
