Re: Another Windows 1903 update annoyance
It also required me to switch from standard NVIDIA drivers to DCH. Not necessarily a big deal, but this was the first update that required that on my machine and it took me awhile to figure out why the drivers I had would not load.

Re: 2018 QST Review ANAN-8000DLE
I'm sorry, I'm not willing to let QST, or the author, off for making such a clear error. Whether the problem was in the hardware or otherwise, it does not excuse the fact that something was obviously wrong with their data. These reviews are important and must be credible. They should have double che...

Re: Resampler Adjustment
I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I still don't understand the following: 1. If 40 ms is as low as I can go in a manual buffer latency setting and run stable, am I better off running auto or manual? (I suspect there may be no way to answer this question, but in case there is......). 2. I have n...

Re: Resampler Adjustment
Bryan, thanks for the information. I had to reboot for unrelated reasons and when I brought Thetis up again, the audio was rough with the same settings I showed in the screenshots. I went back to full auto and everything evened out. Again, I have no idea whether the manual settings that did at one t...

Re: Resampler Adjustment
Here's a screen shot of current audio settings. I noted that at these settings, not only am I getting glitch free audio with no over/under runs, but the Var ratio is as close to "0" as I have ever seen it, whatever that might indicate.

Re: Resampler Adjustment
Bryan, yes, I meant the ring buffer setting needed to be in auto. F/W sampling rate is 384000 and I use the ASIO drivers. Audio comes through an ASI 5211 digital sound card from outboard digital audio processing. On further review, with all other settings the same as described in my original post, I...

Re: Resampler Adjustment
Scott, nice summary as usual. As you know, I run exclusively with VAC audio enabled. With the Resampler enabled, I was able to run more-or-less glitch free in HPSDRmrx at 512/48k and a manual 0 ms buffer latency setting. Primary buffer was 128. I say more-or-less because I occasionally heard some mi...

Re: Thetis 2.6.5 released
First report: I have only been up with 2.6.5 for two days now but I am very pleased. I am no longer seeing the "seq" errors and can confirm that PS does seem to be working noticeably better than under P1. Signal reports from friends who are used to my signal and PS report the same. I can't...

Re: Elad TMATE2 USB Tuning system
Data base was reset. Same exact issues. This could be a defective unit, but I'm done with this. There is insufficient upside to this device vs. a DJ controller to be worth half this much havoc.

Re: Elad TMATE2 USB Tuning system
John, yours is working as expected, and as all others I have seen in the videos work. I have been in touch with Franco about this but haven't heard back yet on these issues. I use VAC and also note that I am getting a lot of buffer over/under runs and a huge increase in dropped packets when the T Ma...

Re: Elad TMATE2 USB Tuning system
Update: I am able to get to a 100 Hz tune step by lowering the tune step in HPSDR to 50 Hz. If I lower it to 25 Hz, the T Mate tune step is 50 Hz. 100 Hz in HPSDR yields a 250 Hz tune step in the T Mate. And so on and so forth. So, the T Mate is not interpreting the HPSDR tune step correctly. It goe...

Re: Elad TMATE2 USB Tuning system
I was able to solve my connection problem - faulty physical USB port on the USB hub in one of my monitors. Moved the T Mate to a different port and I was then able to make the it work ALMOST perfectly. The one remaining issue is that I can't seem to get the VFO step tune down to 100 Hz. The lowest I...

Re: Elad TMATE2 USB Tuning system
I have aquired a T Mate and am trying to set it up. I can make it work with a connector in VSPE and a pair in VSPD 9.0 ... BUT, it times out pretty quickly in either and I lose the connection entirely. Before it times out, I have been able to confirm it is fully functional. Any advice as to what is ...

Re: Pure Signal / wiring/ ANAN 8000DLE
For the record, my understanding of these options is they are just that: options. You should check the ones that work best for you given your "operating conditions" on a trial-and-error basis. I asked Carl to try unchecking MAP and checking STBL because I have found with both my OM amps th...

Re: Pure Signal / wiring/ ANAN 8000DLE
Carl, I assume you mean 1 to 2 on peaks in ALC Comp. ALC comp is showing levels in db above 0 db and those levels look fine. Upon further review of your screenshot, it looks like for some reason PS just stops functioning. I do not think it has anything to do with your cable, the terminator or either...

Re: Orion Mk II 2.3 firmware released (current protocol/Protocol 1)
Scott, ver. 2.4 is what came on both Carl's and Enne's 8000's. So, for whatever reason, the 8000's appear to be currently shipping with 2/4 installed. In both cases, rolling back to 2.2 or 2.3 did not clear the problems both were having and appear to have no bearing on the issues they are having.

Re: LatencyMon Benchmarks
Yes, yes, I remember the hack issue and the fix that would slow down the CPU. Good catch. At the time I heard the news, I checked to see if my Xeon was problematic and found it was not. So that may explain why I saw no slow-down on my CPU but, like Scott, I did see deteriorating scores over time on ...

As a post script. I ran a full Passmark benchmark and found significant deterioration in my GPU 3D score and hard drive score which are now far below normal. Again, no noticeable deterioration in GPU 2D, CPU or memory scores. I am contemplating doing a full burn-it-down and reload from a bare hard d...

FWIW, my Xeon is still performing about as it did originally and still at or above the average results on Passmark with very minimal OC-ing. I have not seen any deterioration in performance over the last year worth noting. I even ran Passmark with PowerSDR, ASI, Omnia and other software running and ...

Gary, remember that my Star Tech cables were also fine until I moved the computer. So, they were working until they weren't. While I tend to think two different type cables both behaving badly suggests the problem is something else common to both, I wouldn't rule anything out. We'll just hope it sta...

Re: GPU Questions
My Club3d display port DP 1.4 13 ft. cables arrived about a few hours ago and I have tested them at DP 1.2, 4k @ 60Hz for awhile now. There are no more black screens or artifacts. I then tested them by adding a Tripp Lite P579-006 M/F 6 ft. extension cable at the monitor end and everything continues...

Tony, try this link: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-autom ... indows-10/
There are a few alternatives set out there that should work. I have automated my login but forgot how I did it. My "Users must enter...." box is checked, so I did it a different way than Scott did.

Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance
Tony, unfortunately, Magician doesn't do anything except artificially increase your drive Passmark score. In fact, I'm not sure it even works on the 960 EVO. I know it is not compatible with the 960 PRO, which I use.

Gary, glad you got your answers from Scott. Sorry I did not see the post until just now. Only one thing to add: I would think you should be able to disable the onboard GPU in the MB BIOS. Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance
To follow up: I checked and found that my DP cables are StarTech DISPLPORT15L. They are rated for DP 1.2 but the reviews on this cable are pretty bad, many indicating a "flicker" problem, which may be the same as the random, periodic black screen issue I saw at DP 1.2. Looks like I have a ...

Gary, glad it stopped for you and hopefully it stays that way. In my case, all I did was move the computer from one rack to another. Re: New PC Build: now UPDATED with overclocking performance
Very nice, Scott. I love the colors, subdued lighting and overall clean look. 4k monitors are the bomb, particularly the Dells. I recently did what I thought was a small rebuild; really a relocation of the main computer and addition of a solid state amp. I moved the computer to the small (audio) rac...
