Re: 2.6.8

OK, call me a radical, call me crazy, but how about completely divorcing the controls entirely from the spectral display area? I.e., put the all of the controls for each RX in their own, independent, resizable window, and put each RX spectral display in its own, independent, resizable window. This ...

Re: 2.6.8

Trouble on 60 meters I notice the following issues: 1. There are band edge markers at approx. 5.351.5 and 5.366.5 MHz. These make no sense for 60m, as there is no actual band. (At least in the U.S.) 2. Various bandstack functions don't work properly. a. I can delete stack entries 3, 4, and 5, but n...

I belatedly proclaim my enthusiasm for your interest in improving the UI, Richie!

I too would be willing to beta-test anything you'd care to send.

Re: identification of bandscope markers

@K3EC I don't have the skills to examine the code as you are doing, but it sounds like you are describing what I see when I examine the visible receive bandwidth shading (receive filter) in the panadapter display. This receive filter indication has always seemed to accurately show the actual filter ...

Windows 10 1903 update breaks VSPE

I use Eterlogic VSPE to connect Thetis to DXLab Commander and N1MM+ for CAT control. After I updated Windows 10 on my shack PC to version 1903, the communications between these devices stopped, and CPU usage increased to nearly 100% whenever Thetis was running. It turned out that VSPE was the proble...

Thetis QSK and the new default low-latency filters

Starting with Thetis 2.6.4, the release notes recommend that we reset our database to get new, improved default settings. One of the new settings is a filter type change from Linear Phase to Low Latency. I have found that QSK is better with a linear phase filter. To demonstrate the issue Operate in ...

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Rick,

The firmware you link to in your post right above has "Orion_MkII..." in its filename, so it's only for 7000 and 8000, not 200D, right?

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

TL;DR? Read the highlighted bits . First let me review the behaviors I found previously, with NP v1.2 (Orion_NP_v1.2_restored_4-14_h40.rbf) and Thetis 2.6.0 , which I had been using with my 200D for about 8 months. With this combo I had only two issues . (1) Many of the late improvements to PowerSDR...

Re: 7000DLE perfect QSK?

It's been almost three months since I started this thread. Since May, probably quite a few 7000DLE units are in the hands of new owners. Perhaps some of the new owners are CW aficionados, so maybe someone has tried it on QSK. See my post at the top. Take a look at the image on page 30 of VA7OJ's rep...

7000DLE perfect QSK?

Has anyone else noticed the incredibly awesome QSK performance of the 7000DLE, as reported in Adam Farson's test report? http://www.ab4oj.com/sdr/apache/anan7000dle_notes.pdf See the CW QSK recovery test starting on page 29. On page 30, he shows the ability to recover receiver audio between dits run...

Re: PowerSDR mRX PS 3.4.7 Released

Locking both VFOs with the lock button is not a good idea. The reason is the Split operation case mentioned by K9RX. My Icom IC-7600 works this way (that is, one can change one's TX frequency with Lock enabled). My recollection is that my Yaesu FT-1000MP and my Kenwood TS-850 also worked this way. (...

Re: How to post images?

I should add: I suppose there are two basic paradigms for images. One would be to upload the image to the forum server for storage there. This way doesn't seem to be available on this forum. The other way would be to have my image available at a web URL. I have already uploaded it to Imgur, and have...

Re: A bit of rx audio at start of transmission

Scott, You are correct that I broke things by reversing the B1 and B2 selections on the VAIO and AUX input strips. I did that because of one of my OCD compulsions: Whenever there is a left-right pairing, I want to put receive-related things (VFO A, RIT, VMB rx audio metering...) on the left, and tra...

Re: A bit of rx audio at start of transmission

Thanks Rob and Stu. Stu - I'm hearing the sound in another receiver, so it's definitely an actual part of my transmitted signal. But, I should say I was hearing the sound in another receiver, because I believe I have fixed it. I drew an audio routing diagram and I believe there's an error in Scott's...

A bit of rx audio at start of transmission

I'm just getting started in digital modes. I followed, for the most part, WU2O's virtual audio tutorial ( http://wu2o.dyndns.org/wu2o_vac_tutorial_2.html ) section 8. (I say for the most part because I had to swap B1 and B2 on Voicemeeter Banana to get things to work.) I'm starting off trying PSK31....

Re: Low Power Out With Mic

I had the problem you describe just a few days ago. Check your metering when transmitting (the mic, EQ, Leveler, ALC, etc., choices). They should all be bouncing up at or near 0 when speaking into the mic. When I checked mine, I found that there was no indication on the Leveler and EQ meters. Someho...

Re: FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

I'm using the very latest versions (3.4.1 and 1.0.6397.0). Maybe you're right about not wanting something stealing focus from PowerSDR while I'm tuning. But it doesn't matter in my case because I can tune PowerSDR with my MIDI controller whether or not it has focus. The problem is that PowerSDR gets...

FocusMaster with N1MM+ doesn't work for me

Here's what I've done to set it up. 1. In PowerSDR Setup > CAT Control > CAT tab, I've set the FocusMaster Mode to N1MM+ Logger. The N1MM+ Port and Delay fields are dimmed, so there's nothing for me to do there. I left the Window Title field blank, since I don't know what to put there -- the main N1...
