Re: N1MM+ with PSDR mRX on CW

I have tried all three of the most common solutions: com0com, VSPM and VSPE. I recommend Eterlogic VSPE. It has proven to be the most reliable and flexible for me. It does cost a few bucks, but IMHO worth it. Plus, I use a port splitter function, which VSPM does not have, but com0com does. I would s...

Re: N1MM+ with PSDR mRX on CW

I set up N1MM+. Both rig control and CW keying. I set semi-break-in delay in PowerSDR to 0ms. I'm by no means any kind of CW expert, but it seems to work just fine, and it follows the CW speed setting in N1MM+. Obviously the relays in the radio prevent going super fast. I'm not sure what the limit o...

Re: N1MM+ with PSDR mRX on CW

Gary,

If you are still having problems with this setup, please post all of your relevant setup screens from PowerSDR, N1MM+, and whatever virtual serial port software you are using. Since others have got this to work, perhaps there is something subtle in your setup that needs tweaking.

Re: CW Mode Operation

Prem, If you are going to bring line out into the PC, don't bother with VAC for RX, that's pointless. Just use the line out for both receive and sidetone. For that matter, if the radio is close enough to the PC to wire up audio, don't bother with bringing audio into the PC, just bring it out into a ...

Re: CW Mode Operation

VAC works fine for CW, EXCEPT for sidetone. Sidetone is NOT available via VAC. If you require using VAC for audio, then you will have to use an external keyer with sidetone rather than the one built into PowerSDR. If your radio is far away from the PC, you can even hook up a keyer to a serial port a...

Presonus Studio 192 Mobile audio interface

For a long time now I've been using the Behringer UMC202 professional audio interface. I am fully virtualized and run all of my audio, receive and transmit, through the PC with it. No connections to the radio other than Ethernet. The Behringer is an unbeatable value at only $60 when compared to its ...

Re: Console and the 8000DLE - Defintion

Nothing will work right if you have multiple network interface cards (NICs, and don't forget WiFi counts as one) and don't have your network metrics manually set. This is because PowerSDR, HPSDR Programmer, HPSDR Bootloader and, apparently, SDR Console, are not very smart about multiple NICs and wil...

Re: RCA PTT Out Reading

Here's the schematic for the PTT out circuit on the Orion board. It is similar on the other boards. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4609/39625303422_a519746053_o.jpg It's just a simple FET switch to ground with no internal pull-up. Therefore with PTT not asserted there will be near infinite resistanc...

Re: No audio on headphones

You probably have a sample rate mismatch somewhere. Take a look the VAC tutorial.

Also, be sure you are using DIGU and not USB. This removes all receive audio processing automatically.

Re: Using Pure Signal on ANAN 10 with a transverter

See the "sticky" thread, Puresignal 2.0 Release Notes, here: https://apache-labs.com/community/viewforum.php?f=20 I'm absolutely amazed that the 70MHz feedback works at all :o The colors you are seeing are saying that the feedback level is too low. However, if it broken and it works, then ...

Re: Thetis ETA for release ?

I haven't done the math but my gut tells me 1000 bast T won't support two data streams simultaneously from two ADC's able to handle 160 through 6 meters. Perhaps it will. Joe, I'm not sure what you are trying to say. Ethernet speed has little to no bearing on a GPU-based SDR architecture. For a GPU...

Re: PowerSDR mRX Transmit Audio Setup

Scott, Forgive my ignorance .... just to be sure I understand. So IF I want to use PS, which was one of the top of the list items for getting the radio, I can't "hear" what I sound like using MON - correct? If MON is on and PS is OFF, then you are hearing what you sound like without any a...

Re: Thetis ETA for release ?

Scott mentions the Minerva project and that certainly looks promising but I don't think it is eminent. This also makes for an even "fatter" client architecture which brings on its own problems. Many will need to upgrade their computer systems. This is probably not the case. Other than the...

Re: Thetis ETA for release ?

Timing closure on the P2 firmware continues to be an issue. Current focus is on the potential for floor-planning and incremental builds (e.g. locking down each timing critical piece and not allowing it to be rebuilt during subsequent builds) to solve the problem. However, there is a stumbling block ...

Re: PowerSDR mRX Transmit Audio Setup

Everything, and I mean everything, should be set to 48KHz. Make sure all of your VAC and/or VMB audio devices are set to 48KHz in the Windows Sound Control Panel, both recording and playback. Restart. All mainstream digi mode software, including Fldigi, WSJT-X, MMTTY, Winwarbler, DM780, etc. uses 48...

Re: PowerSDR mRX Transmit Audio Setup

Prem,

I noticed that the link to Rob's video above was dead. I've updated it. Go to 08:25 and watch how Rob uses the Wave menu in PowerSDR. Be sure to record your wav file at 48KHz and with peak amplitudes similar to what you get from your microphone directly in PowerSDR.

It could be a bad relay on your 8000. Bad relays have been a recurring failure point on all model radios.

Re: Various questions

Dave, The bottom line is that PowerSDR only provides outputs for two receive passbands, and an input for one transmit passband, that's it. Period. Dot. (but see footnote below). It is possible to have more than one instance of a digital mode program looking at one of those passbands, but it is still...
