Re: 7000DLE MKII Frequency Drift
There could be two different problems going on here: 1. The ANAN is not locking to the GPSDO. - This could be a small matter of jumper settings. How are your clock related jumpers set up on you ANAN-100? - It is better to test this by splitting the output of the GPSDO and using the same signal as bo...

Re: Downward Expander 2.8.11
Jim, You will love the VOX. It is the crown jewel of the audio suite. It is the only VOX available with the look-ahead feature so that you don't lose the first syllable. The side-chain trigger lets you pick the dominant tones of your voice so that nothing else in the shack triggers it. Since every p...

So probably not amp dependent, then.

What amp are you using?
I'm using an Elecraft KPA500.
I wonder if it is somehow amp-dependent.

Re: Downward Expander 2.8.11
Scott, this is strange. With VAC enabled with and DEXP enabled no spike. That's what I was afraid of. That somehow the audio look ahead delay line has garbage data in it when the TX audio source is the ANAN hardware CODEC, but with VAC it is fine. While this is by no means proof of that, it implies...

Re: Noise Burst on initial transmit
Ruben, There's another thread dealing with this same problem. It's been suggested there that a) this problem is related to the use of DEXP and b) the RF delay can be set to around 35 or 45ms to work around (I would not say "solve") the problem. Does any of this apply to your problem?

Re: Two Way Communication
The short answer is "no". There is currently only the ability to control button lighting, and even that is not fully implemented, i.e. if you change a control using MIDI and the lighting codes are properly set up the lights will track the state of the function, but if you change that setti...

Re: Downward Expander 2.8.11
I don't know if you can do this experiment, but if you can: does this also happen to you when you source audio via VAC?
Unfortunately I can't do the opposite experiment and not use VAC because my station is remotely operated.

Re: Downward Expander 2.8.11
That's not a solution. That's merely a part of the same mystery. There should be absolutely no reason to run such an obnoxiously high delay. It would drive me crazy if I had to. My delays are set to minimum and, again, no problems here.
Are you running Protocol 1 or 2 firmware?

Re: Downward Expander 2.8.11
If you are only using DEXP and not VOX it probably shouldn't matter, but try setting your Anti-VOX gain to -20 and enabling Anti-VOX.
You did not say if you are using VAC for TX, RX or both. Are you?

Jim,
Post your DE settings. Perhaps there is something that can be fixed. Because I can't think of anyone else with this problem.
Also, are you using VAC?

Scott

Re: Tune Button
How does that meet your requirement, Mike? All you need is the disable PTT part.
In fact, why not just use an external switch? Or an external switch controlled by an OC output. Or an external switch controlled by a DDUtil macro button.

Re: A "jangling" artifact on TX and RX audio, related to filter size?
The other thing to consider is that this setting is much less important on transmit. As mentioned above, at 1024 the skirts are already much steeper than any other radio out there save the Flex. You are not going to look or sound bad at 1024 transmit. So you can knock that setting down to minimum on...

Re: A "jangling" artifact on TX and RX audio, related to filter size?
Buffer size should have nothing to do with this issue. It would be good if you would confirm that is the case. What this is really about is the transient response of the filter skirts. This is not ringing per se, but it is a time domain, transient response issue. There are three things that cause tr...

Re: RX2 not same signal level as RX1
Mike, If you've been following the above examples, in every case the problem was a hardware failure of some sort. N4XD did not report a lower noise floor, he reported lower signal levels. Is that what you are seeing? Assuming you've done your part in identically configuring both paths in the softwar...
