Re: HTTP Server?

Gary: open the port as http://127.0.0.1:80 (or whatever your port number is) on the same machine. If memory serves, you have to enable it, then restart Thetis.

Make a mono to stereo adapter cable and plug your headset into that.

Re: HTTP Server?

It has some very rudimentary and fragmented functionality and is not by any means a finished capability. I've tried it and it shows great promise for the future. I have no idea who the dev's are/were on this, but perhaps we should start sending them free pizza and beer ;)

Re: Quirks with Thetis

This is the best place to report issues. The dev's are monitoring, but not jumping in per se. With respect to functionality such as TX waterfall scaling, these are known issues and we all just have to be patient. With respect to firmware issues, it would seem that the Orion (200D) image is in most n...

Re: Anan 7000 Firmware

The best firmware for both protocols are the latest revisions posted to the TAPR Github repository. See the links in the sticky posts in the firmware sub-forum here.

The very recent P2 release for the Orion MKII is working pretty good for most people on both the 7000 and 8000 hardware units.

Just to be clear: there is NO "firmware control" mode for preselection or LPFs in Protocol 2 firmware. It is wholly controlled by Thetis.

Gary--those functions have simply not yet been carried over into Thetis from PowerSDR yet. Except for the spotting thing, which is a bug.

Jeff--thanks for the crash report!

I'm not understanding where the problem is. With appropriate (good) band conditions best sensitivity is always achieve with zero attenuation.

Re: 200D Protocol 2 users: what say you?

Hi Scott 4. Audio L/R are reversed, but this is easily corrected by using 'Swap'. Will look into this. 5. There is a 'ghost' bandwidth area that appears in the panadapter, exactly the same as the normal bandwidth image, but in a different place. It seems to move with the mouse operation. Can you po...

Re: how to controll this 2 attenuator ???

This is controlled from the main console via the ATT control. 10dB selects the 10dB pad, 20dB selects the 20dB pad, and 30dB selects both. If you select more than that the software starts to add in attenuation from the step attenuator IC on the SDR board itself. If you want finer grain control than ...

Thetis, poor VAC audio quality, and the resampler

If you are experiencing poor VAC audio quality with Thetis it is probably because you are not using the resampler properly. You can either turn it off completely, or develop some VAC settings that make it operate in a stable fashion. The latter is more work, but the reward is better audio quality th...

All, Getting a lot of random chatter on the P2 Orion build and Thetis. Would like to confirm or deny some trends. Reports have included: - Poor VAC audio quality: we need to understand if this is a real problem or just people having trouble setting up VAC and the resampler in Thetis - No panafall di...

It appears that those with 7000's and 8000's are faring better than those with 200D's. Not enough traffic from those with other radios to get a feel yet.

Re: First attempt at Thetis

Hmmm...it seems like we are still getting mixed reports on the Orion code. More people can run it, but many still cannot. Buck--it takes some trial and error to determine this, which you could have done yourself, but in Thetis 2.6.0: DDC2 is assigned to RX1 DDC3 is assigned to RX2 Knowing that you c...

Re: 200D (Orion) users: P2 v1.3 released

It is good to read that some people are now having success with the 200D/Orion. The "Seq" error codes show dropped or missing data from the radio hardware coming into the client software. Each frame or packet of data contains a sequence number. If the sequence numbers are not sequential er...

Re: Alex and Thetis

Joe, AFAIK, there is no longer a "firmware" control mechanism in Thetis/P2 firmware. IMHO this is a welcome change and the way things ought to work, as the operator should always be in full control of the preselector state. I do, however, wish there was a button that would allow changing b...

Re: New Protocol 2 Firmware Released

Chance--your issues seems to be indicative of SDR Console leaving the firmware in an unstable state. We can point fingers later about whether it's the firmware's fault or Console's fault, although it is worth mentioning that successive Thetis sessions do not cause this problem. a) I'd suggest that r...

Re: Thetis - Release notes

The recent firmware release should make P2 be a viable choice for nearly everyone, where before it only ran in a stable fashion for very few people. Thetis 2.6 fixes a number of bugs since 2.5.2. I use it as my "daily driver". However, both Thetis and the firmware are still in beta, so eve...
